Martinxyz – i was cursing UST because I could not get Panaracer XC Pro UST tyres to inflate on Crossmax SLR! Total nightmare.

In all seriousness I had a similar thing happen to me in Islington a few years ago. There was a car parked close to the entrance point of the narrow junction. A few people tried to go through and ended up hitting the kerb, scuffing wheels etc. i went through the middle.

Anyway, i challenged the PCN, went all the way to appeal. I won the appeal as I went back to the same junction and demonstrated that with a parked car close to the entrance, the entrance was not sufficently clear to enable vehicles to clear the junction.

Amazingly Islington were able to challenge the appeal! (mere mortals are not allowed) they lost again and were ordered to modify the junction and pay me reasonable costs. I have yet to see either!

Managed to get Ralph’s and Rockets on my Arch 29ers with my fingers and inflated with pump! Never had any issues with Stans. I was forever cursing UST when I had Mavic rims and UST tyres.

the ranger was very angry! the good lady was in coldharbour last night and this ‘event’ was a big talking point in the pub.

shame, but sadly the actions of a few will mean sooner rather than later the worse will happen. :(

I have the DT Swiss XMM 140 forks on my hardtail – superb fork, prefer them to my Talas 140 on the full sus.

Anyway, im splitting my hardtail so the XMM140’s are for sale. Serviced in December, super plush, working great. If anyone is interested drop me an email for more info.

Just for info – I had a similar issues with Parcelfarce – they were trying to charge me 12 handling for VAT worth £4. I made it clear to them they were holding my goods illegally, and I should have been given the opportunity to decide whether I wanted Parcelforce to clear my package.

I went to the depot, requested the package, it arrived with a request for £16. I paid the 4 pounds and asked the handler to invoice me the £10. I stated that if he did not handover the goods I would call the police. He went and spoke to his manager, came back and gave me my goods. :-)

one year into the X100 ownership and it has sadly died of mechanical failure!

BUT, its a great camera, it accompanies me everywhere, takes great pictures, especially in low light conditions. Its not fast so not great for action pics, but for street action and general camera, its hard to fault.

I look forward to getting a replacement from Jessops.

had mine for a year, fitted to winter bike so gets plenty of abuse – still going strong. PITA to fit as very tight + i have heard the cups can shatter easily when fitting

I had some old 500 series meridian equipment which i put on ebay a few weeks agao. To my amazement, i sold it for more than i paid for it ten years ago. So, niche high end audio equipment can actually make you money the longer you keep it.

38 miles North Downs loop, starting at Box Hill, over to Leith, Millpond Copse, Holmbury and back to Box Hill. Lovely day, a chilli breeze at the top of Leith and a bit of rain at the end.

Hope he is ok – I passed him and he was talking so fingers crossed. BUT who was the cyclist with the two dogs, because letting the dogs run on BKB whilst others are riding is lethal. One of the dogs ran across the trail, I had to slam the anchors on to avoid hitting the dog, Not very clever. Infact the whole of holmbury and pitch is not great at the moment. .

here is my pride and joy – i love my lynskey, gets ridden a lots more than my Yeti ASR5C!

The lefty has now gone, replaced by a DT Swiss XMM 140. Its a touch heavier, but much nicer to ride.

chaps, please no! criminal damage is not clever! i commute to work most days, and as long as I ride sensibly, all is good. Yes, there is the argument some road users are plain idiots, but its the minority and not the majority.
