brilliant to watch, I have some great memories of watching Nigel battle with Senna, Prost etc. I still believe the late 80’s early 90’s was the greatest era in F1.

200 mile review – faultless. A big ride on saturday from kingston to Poole via some back roads and country lanes. Cant fault the wheels, brake really well, handle great in wind and im a convert to road tubeless.

that looked a seriously rapid route, a few work colleagues just ‘joined in’ and set a 20mph+ avg speed – they aint no racers!
Im now annoyed I didnt ‘join in’ as its passed the end of my road!

Wheels arrived in three days from shipping with no customs, so all in cost for 38mm u shaped clinchers with DT240s hubs was 585.
The wheels went tubeless with no issues, no rim tape needed as the rims have no spoke holes. I use the Ultremo ZX tubeless tyres and they were a bit tight, but eventually went on without levers.

I rode them this morning in windy Surrey hills and they were ok in the side wind, I didn’t get blown about at all, the braking was excellent in the slightly damp conditions after the downpour last night. However, under hard braking they did squeal but that’s not a major issue,

In terms of quality and service, I’m very pleased. Looking forward to riding them in dry and slightly less windy conditions.

I’m pretty sure Rupert can tailor the rides to whatever you want/capable of doing. I’d personally take the mountain bike, there are some amazing trails and riding

I simply cant get my head around the general lee route – a 36T at the back is plenty! If not, just walk, its likely to be as quick!

I did a fair bit of research into the topic of tubeless. The consensus seems to be you cannot use standard tyres but can use rim strips on standard rims. A couple of chaps at work are using the Ultremo ZX tubeless tyres on Zipp 303’s / the chinese rims with spoke holes and rim strip with no issues.

So, I asked Farsports to manufacture the rims with no spoke holes (they do that for special orders) after I read about it on roadbikeforum.

Once installed, I will report back….

My wheels from farsports should be here tomo, I went for the 25mm wide U shaped with DT Swiss 240s 11 speed hubs. Came in at £605.

Oh and running them tubeless with Ultremo ZX tyres. I asked for no spoke holes so no need for rims strip.

Cant wait to try them out at the weekend.

I just think difference between DA and Red is negligable in terms of performance, it all boils down to preferences.

As for the comment about made from cheese from the local bike shop, let me know who they are so i can steer clear….

I run sram red 2013 on my supersix and love it. Tried dura ace mech and di2 and went for red. The simple reason was weight!

tell us how much superstar paid you, also the report would be far more interesting if you also compared an Enve / Reynolds / Easton rim.

I run an XX1 32T front ring on my cannondale hollowgram cranks with Leonardi spider. This is in combo with XTR shadow + rear mech with XX 10 speed cassette.

Worked beautifully on a coast to coast rides across the lakes, dale and the moors, the peak district and the surrey hills. Chain has not dropped once.

We bought most things off eBay or clearance sections, Pram came from eBay, Cot came from clearance section in an online store, loads of stuff came from charity shops and friends.

Be very wary, there is a whole industry ready to take your hard earned cash. Do yourself and the planet a favor and buy as much second hand as possible and tell everyone you need baby stuff. Our neighbour came around and gave us a mountain of baby clothes, books and toys.

steer clear of the Vredestein Fortezza Tricomp – horrible tyre, could not find any grip and went back to the Pro 4’s.

some sound advice here, I commute from Surbiton to Oxford Circus, my route takes me through Richmond Park, Barnes, Hammersmith, Kensington, Hyde Park and Marble Arch. The scaries bits are Hammersmith and Kensington. The tip is to relax, look well ahead and assume everyone is trying to kill you! Tough but you will get used to it. DONT pull alongside any thing, either stay ahead or behind.

mbnut – before you go the general lee route, try the 11.36 with a 32T upfront. I think you might surprise yourself.
