I have been running wheelsfar 38mm for nearly two years, tubeless and faultless.

I have gone 11 speed shimano XTR with the cassette, some very mucky rides and the shifting was spot on. Agreed, I would have bought the XX1 cassette if I had known the weight of the XTR, but I ordered it back in April for a bargain price!

Correct, you can use an 11 speed cassette with a 10 speed hub.

every little helps njee – im nursing a hefty 110gram gain in the rear cassette, changing from an XX 11-36 to an XTR 11-40!

Well, after a muddy ride in the Surrey Hills, I can report the new XTR drivetrain works, and works really well.

The good points:
– shifting is very precise, the upshift in particular. My 10 speed XTR often double shifted up, which was a tad annoying, not the case with new XTR
– The drivetrain is almost silent
– Stood up well to mud and grit, despite me running summer lube (squirt)

The bad point:
– The clutch lever is a pain and will break very soon

Im happy with some extra range as my 1×36 in the winter was hard going.

I have decided to go full shimano 1×11 – the xx1 cassette plus xd body proved a tad expensive for a small increase in range.
Will report after 1st ride tomo.

I’m not so sure FA will beat Button. Everyone was expecting Hamilton to do so and Button scored more points than Hamilton.

The problem with Alonso at Ferrari was that when they succeeded it was always because of Alonso heroics, when they failed it was because Ferrari failed. Never the other way round.

Given what he has achieved v his supposed talent, he will never be considered a true great of the sport. Also, given his standing any team taking him on will be doing it on the basis that all the success will be attributed to Alonso and not to the team.

Sorry, but you can have the best of either shimano or sram world, mix Xtr shifting with an xx1 cassette – simple.

Njee – thats why I think Di2 will have little or no appeal to those running 1×11. If only it was wireless…..

I used a 15 off voucher recently to get a medium cage, they go quickly. I did think about waiting for Di2, but for 1×11 which i will be running there is no point

I must admit, im looking forward to having a bit more range from my XX 36 cassette.

Happy days indeed, the XTR cassette is a bit of a weighty beast in comparison to the XX1.

From what I understand, one of the biggest issues was fuels and lubes, Mclaren used Mobil, the rest of the Merc teams used Petronas, who worked closely with Merc to develop fuels and lubes specific for the engine.
