I don't have lockout or travel adjust on any of my forks. Either never bother to use it, or forget to unwind/unlock at the top of a descent.

The less to go wrong and the less to have to fiddle with the better as far as I'm concerned.

And as for posting pics – you need to upload your pics to an online picture gallery like flickr, and then link to the pic using the IMG button when posting.

I think I found the instructions in the forum help section.

Slightly better pic of my Candy Apple Green 5.

Okay, so my pics always come up a bit small. Tips on making 'em bigger?

You can drop the travel on 36 floats (internally).

Has the L/H arrived? How long ago? If you bought it online and it's unused you do have a bit of time to return the goods under the distance selling act (or suchlike).

Had a Ransom 30 for a couple of years.

With the remote adjustable shock, you really can use it for most things. Probably a bit "much" if you only do xc and trail centres, but as an all rounder that will do xc and also take on big days in proper mountains, I think it would be hard to beat.

I'd like a carbon one if I get another.

My Orange 5 in Candy Apple Green. Part stripped for a winter deep clean.

Could be tempted to sell the frame, as I won't be riding for a while due to surgery. 2009 20".

I saw a pink 456 on the back of a car t'other day.

    Lovely sparkly colour.

Looks good with the white parts.

Hope the ride lives up to your expectations.

has anyone got photos of their 'apple green' or 'kermit green' bikes that they don't mind posting?

    I'll put one up tomorrow.

Yes, normally. They might offer you a credit rather than a refund, which I think is fair.

But it depends what it is.

Using a HP C4580 wireless all in one. Seems to doing the job nicely.

And the router is on the opposite side of the house on a different floor, and no connection problems.

I've got a Buffalo 500Gb attached to my router.

Had it a couple of years, just use it for back-ups and shared files.

Works well for everything I do.

I have a Candy Apple Green one. Gorgeous colour.

    What size are you after?

I am looking at selling my 2009 as new barely ridden (due to injury/surgery) XL sized frame.

I forget my wife's birthday regularly (well….about once a year))

    She just laughs.

    Grow up I'd say ;-)

    I'm 6'4". My Orange 5 2009 XL fits a treat, with 70mm stem.

I also found it much stiffer than my previous Scott Ransom.

I could be tempted to part with the frame. It's custom colour Candy Apple Green, and in mint condition. Hardly ridden due to injury, and not much chance of being ridden for months as I'm recovering from a tendon operation.

I just use a Garmin etrex with Tracklogs 1:50K mapping on the pooter.

Not tried it with a phone, but my BlackBerry GPS is a bit too crap for navigation, so I wouldn't trust it.

    Agree with IvanDobski.

    Just look crap like that.

I like a nice line from headtube to dropouts, a bit like DJ bikes or small HTs.

I however always need XL gate shaped bikes so never get one that looks nice :-(

    Pah!

Had an operation on 4th Jan. Likely off the bike 3 – 6 months.

Travel all over the country on trains for years.

Never get a cold again, as you've been exposed to all the germs out there.

    Works for me.

The rest of my household and all their mates come in with eyes and nose streaming, I don't even get a sniff.

(Hope I haven't just stirred up the man flu gods)

Had a quick look following the original post, and was about to say it's worth it for the parts.

Then I read the later posts.

Not quite sure what "style" of home made press you are using.

I use a length of threaded bar, some nuts and some big thick washers. I also put a suitably sized socket into the headset cup and run the threaded bar through that too to give it some shape.

Plenty of grease, one at a time, give it a tap to line it up if needed when you start winding it in.

Check out VORB[/url] for NZ MTB.

Should be able to hook up with some riders on there.

Make sure everything's clean and greased.

Fit the wheel and axle, but don't tighten it.

Bounce forks up and down a few times to settle the axle/wheel into "the sweet spot". Tighten as normal.

I don't have a Maxle so not sure of the mounting procedure, but have similar "play" on Fox QR15s and 20mm 36s with Hope hubs.

The method I have described removes this play. I think I found this info on the Mojo website.

You could try adapting this for Maxle fitting procedure.

Can you please stop arranging Peaks rides for a few months. I'm still under curfew following surgery, and it's getting very annoying.

Belper's great. Moved here 6 years ago.

Agree with DPM (except that Maharaja is better than Bengal Blues  )

Usual thing of avoid the ropey estates (but everywhere has them). Surrounding villages are nice, but the prices go up.

I'd avoid getting too far out to Matlock way as the traffic can get really heavy.

Be good to get some more riding buddies round here.

    Dual fuel everytime.

Gas hob for boily stuff and instant "off". Leccy oven – coz you can set the timer to come on while you are out so your casserole is ready for when you get in, and I wouldn't want my gas oven coming on when I was out. (Not sure why coz my central heating boiler does – but it just doesn't seem right). And you get the fan oven jobby with leccy.

Plus if you get a power cut you can still cook on the hob, and if you forget to pay your gas bill…..

Thanks for the replies. Makes a replacement just to get a bit of peace and quiet quite expensive!

I've been thinking of an Alfine for my next build, which will be a commute/occasional MTB/spare/parts tester bike.

I got one for £50 from Decathlon a while back. Wouldn't be without it.
