I liked the writing style and the content.

Well done fella. Spurring me on to my first offroad Duathlon in October.

Maybe I'll be fit enough for the TW when I'm your age ;-)

Can I ask the obvious question….how far have you got to move it? And do you need to keep it one piece?

Hmmmm…….CX racing in the winter?………now there's an idea…..stop it, I'm too old and knackered!

And yeah, bar top levers, I do hold one on while I swing a leg over when fully laden and on a hill. I'll still take 'em off at some point though.

I got one through the mail from Rutland Cycling, but had to send it back as the welding on the cable guides was 'orrid and right under my nose, so would have done my head in!

Great value bike, but I'm just a fussy git!

Rutland Cycling were very helpful with the return BTW.

Gravity Dropper. Bit of a clean and grease once a year. Dead simple to do, and dead simple design.

Only had to replace springs in the slider after about 3 years.

Just placing an order for the suggested adapter.

Belkin's reply is that the serial cable is not compatible with Win7, and they're not going to release any drivers :-)

Off to PC World it is then!

Kona do some big tough bikes.

Kona Hoss comes to mind. One of my buddies is 20+stone, 6'7", and hasn't killed his Hoss in 3 years. Lives and rides in Snowdonia, so it gets punished, too.

    No problem in the end.

Removed the 4 cover screws, carefully lifted the cover, nothing went boing, removed the offending plug, replaced the cover. Simples.

    Phew!

Oddly, just sat down at laptop with Mrs MH's Tom Tom coz she sez it needs updating.

Watches with interest. I've been on some roads that weren't recognised recently.

I'll give it a go tomorrow night then :?

Look out for the " how do I put all this back together" thread tomorrow .

I got one out by welding an M6 nut onto the head of the torx bolt. Then use a 10mm spanner on the nut. Simples.

Not too difficult. Don't squeeze the lever while it's apart. Prise open the olive. A bit fiddly getting the olive back on the braid – ensure no stray strands of braid. Never needed to bleed mine and done it twice.

RG2 on pretty much everything. It resists washing off and is used on moto crossers, so is pretty good for MTB conditions.

I use other types too but only coz I got loads in the shed. But RG2 if you only want to buy 1 type.

Bad…they are made of soft cheese, and they will disintegrate in next to no time through corrosion.

Yup, the sealant will seal thorn puncture and small holes etc. You won't even know how many thorns you've picked up until you take the tyre off when it's worn out

If the hole is too big you can just stick a tube in.

I carry a Weldtite Tubeless Repair Kit.

You can repair bigger holes and cuts at the trailside with it, without even removing your wheel, and you just carry on riding tubeless with the remains of the sealant still in.

I always carry a tube too, but never use it.

I'm a Gravity Dropper fan. I won't ride off road without it.

Simple and reliable and 27.2mm so should fit any frame with shims if necessary.

And their customer service is first class.

Did the Chatsworth 10km race this morning (running). First 4k was uphill, and about 25 degrees C. Tweaked my calf muscle, so been chilling in the sunshine with a fridge full of beer 8)

Time Atac Alium. Running for over 2 years with no maintenance.

Mud clearing as good as CB, reliability of Shimano.

Had EggBeaters and Mallets which both died in 6 months.

Did it from Laggan to Ft Augustus a couple of years ago. Really good ride.

Could have done it out and back in reality but it was April and we were expecting some weather so made lift arrangements.

Carried full emergency equipment – it was tee shirt all the way and got sunburnt!

    But don't take any chances.

Go back to the garage and inflate it. Then leave it for a couple of hours for the soap to dry off a bit and the bead to get a grip of the rim.

Le the the air out gently, then remove the valve core and put your sealant in and re-inflate.

When you do this, make sure the tyre isn't taking any weight i.e. put bike in workstand with tyres off floor, or turn bike upside down so wheel is off floor.

    Fox 36 Float.

Just seems more me than 140mm Floats.

It's a big frame though, so probably more suited to big forks.

I've got a 20" 2009 frame for sale. Hardly used due to injury. Custom Candy Apple Green.

£775 posted which is about half what it cost.

Could sell other parts to go with it too.

Email in profile if you are interested.

Yes, you need to allow sharing.

Been a while since I did it, but from memory it was quite easy. Set up a share folder on each computer.

Then go to "my computer" or network places, and look for the other machine, and drag and drop as normal.

Sorry that's not very specific, but if you've set up your own network, you should be able to sort this easily.

    It'll be too hot.

I went to JoyRiders in September and it was perfect.

I've been to Cordoba, not riding, in July. Too hot to do anything after 11am.

Alloy nipples can cause this too, especially if they corrode, they turn into cheese.
