    My wet end is dribbling.

It really is. Just waiting for the new seal to arrive.

I do all my own maintenance, always have. They aren’t that complicated.

Obvious, turn it off, leave it a bit, turn it back on.

Ha e you asked the supplier of that model has a known problem? Some do. So.e have old model pumps that are unreliable so might just be that.

If your tubnisnt that old they might send someone out cheap to have a look.

Most visits from HTA start at a couple of hundred quid! See thread on charging a fair rate!

Yeah, take ID and bank card. All very regulated these days.

I weighed some copper in this week, first time at a scrappy in years.

They need photo ID (driving lcence), and bank card, and they paid by electronic transfer into my bank account.

Wasn’t expecting any of that, but slick and efficient.

I went 15 years without a haircut from age 15 to 30. Not a single trim.

    Was proper long.

Then had a number 1 all over as started thinning on top.

Best thing ever. 2 minute showers, no buying shampoo. No pissing about.

Mid 50s now, and not much choice but regular number 1 😜

It’s ok to pee in your garden if you are wearing the correct slippers.

    Not used it.

However, for the inside of the screen, fairy liquid and water on a clean cloth and give it a good old clean, then dry off with scrunched up newspaper.

    Repeat.

    Really helps visibility.

I bought some earlier this year.

    Wore them today.

Not really getting on with them to be honest. Make me walk a bit “ploddy”

Used to wear them all the time as a schoolboy but that was 40 years ago!

Clamp a sacrificial piece to the end to stop splintering at the end of the run.

You could clamp a piece at either end and then clamp your bearing guide piece to that which should keep the clamp out of the way.

When its foggy, misty or heavy drizzle, just a helmet light is not a great idea.

It lights up all of the water particles in the air and makes it very difficult to see anything at all.

I use a Diablo on my bead and a Troutie Dominator (big floody type light) on the bars with a MTB batteries err battery.

My next one will be battery powered.

Looks like £100 for the battery and £100 for the tool.

Then you can buy other tools cheap and use the same battery.

And you wont make a racket doing it.

NB I have petrol chainsaw, pole pruners, hedge trimmer, trimmers x2.

Blimey, I thought my new motor was steep at 500 quid a year!

I’ve got my old car for sale which has monthly cover for £30 per month.

I have a hybrid trout light which uses an MTB batteries battery that is lumicycle fitting but with a hope connector on the light.

My old charger died after many years so needed a new one with custom connectors.

No problem, and with me in a few days, and at a great price.

Much love for Smudge and MTB batteries here too.

File a flat on the serrated bit of the tap valve. Place the tap handle back on. Knock a wedge in. Tighten up with the top sceew.

I’ve just bought some sealskins knee length waterproof socks.

Will be wearing them with normal spd shoes to see if they are better than waterproof mtb boots that just fill up with water.

I’ll let you know after a couple of weeks of testing.

Direct line here. But only two of us covered for any car we are in.

They use Green Flag I think.

About 16 quid a month for two of us, for full recovery, went up a quid after three callouts in one year.

Will look at bank account option at renewal time but think last time there was something like they would recover you home or up to 10 miles for repair whichever was nearest. So check that option carefully.

Towel rail getting hot when you run HW is NOT necessarily a cause for concern.

Depending on how it’s set up the electronic valve doofer automatically directs some heat to the towel rails so you have warmed towels when you get out of the shower.

A previous old combi of ours used to loose pressure over a couple of weeks. Turned out to be the expansion vessel was leaking. How have you confirmed that yours is fine?

Got one a couple of weeks ago.

Made a huge difference to the whole downstairs of the house. Quite surprising.

And a bit of heat is now going upstairs too.

It will certainly make a difference for you.

We got an expensive one. Didn’t know you could get em for 20 quid. Will get a cheapy for the kitchen stove.

    Fit is everything.

I tried loads of brands/models and settled on Aquasphere Kayenne. I have 2 or 3 pairs on the go and have lent them to friends when they have forgotten or are having problems with theirs, and they have all got on well with them.

Normally about 15 quid from Wiggle.

Peterborough to Hereford on the train this afternoon.

4 and a half hours ( of total dullness!) and not a single ticket check on the train.

The barriers will catch me though.

(Company stumped up the £150 fare)

I failed last week. Came down with humdinger of a cold so missed about 4 days, then had a weekend away at relatives which meant lots of driving etc.

And I missed adding a few non-recorded activities to strava.

Working away so only a walk tomorrow before a long train journey home.

Back on it Wednesday. Shows how hard it is to actually do it every day.

    Exposure TraceR for 5 years.

Road, mtb, gravel, commuter etc all with just the one light. And lots of that with no mudguards.

    Been faultless.

Had a couple of the Smart ones for a few years too, use AAAs, so doesn’t fit your rechargeable requirements, but they have been very dependable.

Not much success here with waterproofs either.

Too much faffagge for limited results.

I keep washing and proofing and think of them more of an insulating shower proof layer. I’m gonna sweat buckets on the inside anyway.

My mrs makes all gore type waterproof leak instantly. I think she is highly statically charged or something. She gave a new-ish leaky £100+ jacket to a friend for dog walking. Friend has had no problems with it!
