I am using one as is the wife… they look a bit MX 😈 but do the job very well. Since fitting it the mud face problem from before has been avoided 🙂

More obvious than a Neoguard which is very neat and tidy. I've not used one of those though so can't compare.

We got ours from Next about 2 years ago and have had no problems at all. The kids love it and never tire from using it.

My XT cassette has marked my Pro 2 hub. I don't think there's a way around it really. It's going to get marked whatever you use..

Here in Aberystwyth's just fine…… You've got Man made like, Nant yr Arian a short ride away, Climachx just up the road, Brechfa just down the road, as much natural riding as you can take in the Cambrian mountains, and great beaches such as Ynyslas only 10 minutes away…..

What more could you want ???????

I've got them…. and yes they do work. They give you an extra position (safely) on the bars… and are ideal for techy sections where being down on the drops would be less ideal….

If you're anything like me, commuting in the winter means you have permanent sniffles, but never a real full blown cold or Flu type illness….

baby bio is the same type of fertiliser that you'll see used for growing your supermarket fruit and veg (ish) …… so don't be worried….

Baby bio every month water every couple of days. Mine is about 1 year old and has taken over the windowsill in my kitchen along with the basil plant. I'm on my 3rd crop in 12 months. If you wait long enough the green chillies mature and turn to red (on my plant anyways 😉 )

I wear the same as I would for Offroad.

    Endura Convert Jacket
    Altura waterproof 3/4's
    Shimano winter boots
    Sealskins
Regular gloves – atm but will wear sealskin winter gloves when it gets cold
If cold I wear a skullcap under my helmet, legwarmers and I have overshoes for when it's really cold…

This year I may invest in some mud guards for my winters commuting..

If it's raining I also have my lights on flashing mode to make sure I'm seen properly….

    Well another great year.

Carrots are still on the go from pots…. much more successful than planted in the ground, so I'll be doing the same next year 🙂

Potatoes, we adequate. I got alot of wireworm damage, but it's the first year I've grow them, so should be better next year.

Runnerbeans have been great and along with everyone else the freezer has it's fair share now.

Onions are plated and hanging up in the shed. Enough for winter I hope 😉

Leeks are coming along nicely. Bloody slow to grow, so I'll be patient again next year.

Cabbage has been ok. slugs and butterflies have been a constant pest so netting next year I think, as the bloody caterpillars have got right on my nerves.

In general, it's been another great growing year. Next year I think more chickens and a bigger chicken run maybe the route to more self sufficience 😉

DHB and Descente 3/4 bib's for Night rides and Gore leg warmers avec normal bibs for early morning/late evening commutes home/to work.

Bloody cold yesterday morning… wore normal full finger gloves and fingertips were frozen when got to work (only 6 miles) I'm breaking out the sealskin winter gloves for the commute, as of today 😉

You get what you pay for.

    Organic Clothing cost more.

Their Merino is turned into clothing in NZ where it costs considerably more to make clothes than China. Plus by not shipping the raw material halfway across the globe, it's inevitably better for the environment…. just more expensive for you to buy.

Great clothes, well constructed, but not my style. I'm more Carhartt… myself..

I ride in Mid Wales (Nant, climach-x, Brechfa, CyB and natural) and use an Olympic on the back. I'm heavier than the both of you and have had no problems since Feb when the wheel was built.

The wheel is on my Superlight so can't really compare to a rigid, ss, 29er 😉

Having used mine for over a year now, I can honestly say that I very rarely use setting 3 & 4 as they're too much. Setting 1 for fireroads and setting 2 for tree lined singletrack. Setting 3 gets an outing in thick conifer trees like the final descent @ Climach-x… but rarely anywhere else.

There is very little difference between setting 3 & 4 that I can notice, but I'm no lighting expert.

Love mine… use it for commuting atm, but when I get a bit more time for night riding will be out on the trails with it again. I wer it helmet mount for offroad and handlebar mount for road.

Had 2 good night laps with it on @ SITS…. love drowning out riders in front's light with it, so they get pissed off and let you past cause they can;t see where they're going 😉

With clever use of the lights settings you can get 2 night rides (2 x 2hr ish) out of it.. or for me I've done 2 weeks worth of commuting (finishing at 8pm) without needing to charge it 🙂

Plus, even though they look quite hefty, you don't notice them when helmet mounted…
