Hi guys… The UN54 is slightly thick in diameter than the UN52. I’ve just bought a UN54 off’ve STW but there was no non drive side cup with it 🙁 My old BB on the SS was a UN52.

Let me know if either of you have one please 🙂

Looks like snow, but too warm here in Mid Wales 🙁

    Drizzle and super strong winds

Think I’ll stay in the warm this afternoon 😉

They are a “you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone” type products. I’ve been using one for a while, and after swapping my FS for a 29er I don’t have one 🙁

You soon realise what your missing when it’s not there anymore.

The benefits are obvious…. it allows you to move around more on the bike when downhilling….

    PS – if you’re looking for a 30.9mm diameter, I’ve got one available 😉

I’ve got one. Wear it all the time. Shower in it. go to gym/ride bike/go running in it. Does the same job as any other watch, but only cost £7.99 from Wiggle.

The price means that I’m not bothered if it gets broken or damaged and means I can keep my Raymond Weil for best and not damage it at work.

Off on a tangent slightly, but I’ve just rescued my 1989 Muddy Fox Courier Comp from my Mum and Dads… I feel some kind of project coming on in 2011 🙂

Suddenly mountain bike gear looks cheap by comparison

I disagree the cost of roadbike components and MTB components is completely comparable.. Except a descent set of road forks cost £200 or so instead of £500+

    3500 miles and nothing needed???

In that time I’d have gone through 3 chains, at least one cassette, a pair of tyres, a couple of sets of brake pads.

yup, not thing at all…. and only 1 puncture 🙂

molgrips – I second that….. 3500 miles on the road between January and now and all I’ve done to my roadbike is change the tyres once, not even changed the brake pads yet..

    What about Dawn French…..

I practically went over to the darkside in the spring. What I’ve noticed is that it’s very cheap compared to mountain biking…. and very low maintainance, quick hose down and dry in the sun every month and that’s about it (barring the oil and GT85)

Old Deore brakes on my Superlight…… The levers were exactly the same as XT so I couldn't resist when I saw them on US ebay 2 years ago for £50 the pair..

Seat clamp is also an M.Part's affair too…

I've had a Superlight for the last 3 years. Initially I ran it with 100mm Reba races, which were fine but a little under forked for the Mid Wales trails where I live. I swapped over to 120mm F120's in Nov 2008 and it changed the bike completely. I find it a much better ride, for hitting big natural descents while maintaining a light enduro bike persona.

My next bike will be a Santa Cruz, but I'm looking at a Tall boy (as I'm 6'3")…….

Turnercraig – They used "better late than never" in reverse 2 years ago, and some of the fire road links. As a rule the organisers don't use much of the Climach-x course though..

    Biggest problem will be traffic.

By the time we get there, there'll be no problem with traffic Dan… 😉

Indeed I was the MTB-Wales.com rider.

If it wasn't for that bloody puncture on the final descent, (some 95km's in) I'd have beaten at least 1 vegan 😉

5.13.06 Ride time on the Garmin. (5.32 written on my nice certificate)

Set myself a 6 hour target, so chuffed with that. Only 5665ft of climbing though for the whole 100km's, which is a bit crap as the 50km Mawddach Goldrush at the start of March was 4503ft.

Big thumbs up for Nuun tablets which have cured my cramp problems !!!

Roll on Dyfi enduro in 3 weeks ! 🙂

Kiwi stu – it did them for 4 hours, so not bad. I wish the weather was a bit warmer for them though…..

Militantgraham, after further pondering I've decided that you need punctuation in the "Go Vegan" slogan on your shorts. A coma or an exclamation mark should do it…..

Mrs TR and the 3 TR children are off to Sudeley Castle for the day. Has anyone been there before ?? Will it keep a 35, 13, 12 and 5 year old happy for 6-7 hours ??

Sorted – was saving it to E drive. Now I've saved it to the saved routes file on the E drive, it's all good. I'm assuming that Greet road and vineyard street are in Winchcombe….. 😉 as there's not enough "ll's" for my locale….

Not sure…. but the GPX opens in the Basecamp software, and the instructions talk of GPX files, so I'm not sure……
