used to use finish line wet, but now using green oil on everything. not quite as tenacious as finish line, but doesn't appear to pick up quite so much crap.

this week: punk ipa by brew dog.
next week: my own brew. an ipa currently conditioning in the bike room. it's a very, very nervous wait.

i'm a few hundred miles into a set which replaced "classic" looks with red cleats. less creaky than the old ones (so far) and cleats a little easier to walk in.

less float than mtb pedals, but not causing me any problems (so far).

Hmm! Basque cyclist, Madrid laboratory, maybe I'm just too suspicious.
yeah! like take that ETA! you put two of our policeman in the morgue. we, er, take a tour stage from you!

that's not a camel toe…

pretty tough going. quite boggy in bits, particularly at the head of the loch just when you think it must get better. 3 hours from where you meet the loch to tarmac IIRC.

fine if you like being "out there", less so if you're expecting peachy singletrack.

a well timed question – just been looking at these.

what's the difference between the versions of the mtx rack?

thinking of one for this:

only needs to carry sleeping/bivy/thermrest – couple of kg(?).

you don't really understand it if you think it doesn't
or just watch the itv4 highlights…

would have been much funnier as:
hey pistolero, there is no "i" in "team", but there is a "u" in "cun*".

🙂

i agree. always important to start with clean ears.

Obviously these guys in the tour are fit and healthy (fittest and healthiest might be more apt) but is it doing them any long term damage?
i have a vague memory of reading that the life expectancy of a pro cyclist is significantly lower than the general population (low 50s?). but can't remember/find a source for this (so may be pish).

corrour>loch trieg is fine. loch trieg>blackwater is a carry up into the glen, then very nice singletrack. boggy sections if you take the direct route to the reservoir after the bothy. not ridden the higher route shown on the OS map.

There's currently no penalty for missing a drugs test in football.
um, i'd imagine Rio Ferdinand would disagree with you there…

FIFA are signed up to WADA now aren't they?

not long had one done by hendersons in edinburgh (london/portobello/willobrae road junction). quick, £50 and seems to be good quality.

Bontrager (built by DT Swiss?), but no one seems to have too much to say about these
I had one that came off a GF Rig. It wasn't very good. The more expensive Bontrager wheels use/d DT hubs, almost certain these weren't DTs.

i started using soap (and brush) a month or so back. nothing fancy, just what they had in boots. better shave than any of the foams and gels i've tried recently (after noxzema menthol got hard to get).

it’s on the BBC website and featuring in their sports reports (on radio). what do you want – a newsnight special? 😉
