yep, just use an old socket that nearly fits on and hammer it on. before it is nearly unscrewed, waggle it to remove it.

i have to admit i still nip up my mcguards this way after losing they tool as im too lazy to buy 4 plain bolts for the winter wheels.

yep, you have invoked the wrath of my aunty. she recons you should sell all but one. ;o)

If you have the money and love the watches then its up to you what you do.Everyone on here has something or other kicking about that they dont need that they choose to keep.

you should change your name to jeph.

Dirtynap.. some folk above have a few of those functions in their watches.aviemorons breitling has a few.

The thing is, he didnt buy the watch.. he was awarded it.Doing something that you or your parents might have benefited from a long time ago.

Ive got skye 1.5 hours from here.. torridon about 1 hour 20 mins.lots of 20+ min descents but i would rather be down there.

getting sun stroke in Newquay a few decades ago wont keep me away.I remember the south end of Fistral beach with no buildings on the hill above it. The last pic i saw it was built up a bit since then. maybe the way its turned out would peeve me off. Has Newquay gone quiet for the end of summer yet or is it still silly busy?

I thought James Brown might have cropped up.not sure if he was the coolest though.

therapist and saleem on here both have nice watches..

    cmon.. post pics!

one thing i notice with most expensive watches is the screw heads not tightening to the exact position to keep everything looking perfect.

theres no arguement.. if they can make the internals so precise then theres no reason why they cant go the whole hog and show their perfection by making a selection of fixings with the heads slotted in diffrent directions that they can choose from to complete the look of the watch.

I know someone with a nicer B&R than the one above but my wrists arent chunky enough.. wallet aint chunky enough either.

once you go above £7500 with Alliance & leicester you get a better rate. check out what they offer over the likes of 2 years.. or 3.See if they will be happy to do it for you without payment protection because blah blah (explain to them why yer going to be one of their easiest ever customers to deal with ;O) ) and hopefully they will give you what you want.

maybe have a look at martin lewis/money saving expert.com or whatever he calls his website. the list had A&L as quite a good option. Ive had a few loans with them in the past 12 years and the deals without payment protection were very good.

sounds about right. crazylegs has said it all so i dont need to bother. shops can bleed a brake and bleed a brake only but they wont sleep at night (at least the ones who care when closing times comes around) if its still not working right. this means cleaning pistons or replacing them along with seals.

epic.. i asked steve to put a bb7 on order for my next bike(just going to run one rear brake!)
with quality cables and the right levers they can blow some hydro brakes away.hassle free.

i like the look of the norco up there. the lines flow real nice on it. great proof that you dont need a niche bike brand to have a really nice looking bike. no offence. just a pity i didnt see that when the nicest bike thread was on the go the other day!

518mm for the pike and the gryphon rigid fork i want to try is 445mm.i liked the pike set about 125mm and with sag it looks like the rigid fork will be too short.

so if i ran a 29er wheel up front the 40mm or so diff would all add up nicely eh?

oh dear.. a marin rocky ridge 69er is on the cards.

thanks for finding that pdf.. its really handy.

Ive had heaps of frames (for customers) replaced due to marks on the edges of welds exactly like this.

considering where this mark is,i wouldnt ride it.

good day for it eh? i walked down to the carpark on the path you talked about a few months ago and compared to what i rode down about 10 years ago, its changed a lot since then.its probably quicker to ride down but not as gnarly (did i use gnarly on stw ? shame!) just like how the descent down from rothie lodge has been man handled and spoilt over the years.

not sure about where you want to go though, ask dave in bb. he was on about a descent over the back of gorm towards ryvoan or something. said it was good.

this week i might head up the track you started on, around the great slab/alladins couloir and push it up to cairngorm then decend down the back track to the ptarmigan and over to the ridge that takes you down the ciste on creagan dubh. finishing up with a ride up the mountain road. still havent done this.

If a pig headset nearly went all the way into a headtube then why would it stop before butting up nicely? do specialized recon grease is the answer to this problem? hardly.
yes, a 1.5 cup can be a bit of a mare to press into some frames but its most likely to be a cup with a non square edge thru design (quite often you will find a round in headsets in this area where a square edge would be a bit handier – especially if you have to go about chamfering the internal edge of a ti frame headtube – GRRR!)
