Remember “primary rhyming” by 808? On the cd single there was a really nice mix of it.

I`m going to find it after dinner..

No point in getting a helmet cam. The helmet sits on top of the wardrobe ;O)

Going back though.. i would have probably done the same.Maybe tossed it onto their bonnet. Would have peeved me off too.

Sometimes i wish people that didnt work with bikes through the day would come on here spouting stuff about it not being rocket science or formula one when it comes to torque wrenches on certain parts on bicycles.

I dont use them on every part of a bicycle but with the size/quality of a lot of handlebar stem faceplates out there,i dont think i would sleep very well at night having serviced a customers road bike with a carbon stem and/or bar having just nipped them up to what i think is good enough. If i guessed it i would question the stress i just put on the bolts or stem threads.. i`d also question wether the dropped bars are going to stay put on the 50mph descents that the rider might be on in the future.

Fine if you want to guess tightness of fixings on your OWN bike but some of us like to sleep well at night. If theres hundreds of pounds worth of torque wrench sitting about at work,i need to use them, especially for parts like i mentioned above.

*edit.. i hope you enjoy the next bar wrenching out of the saddle climb you might put the road bike through, and enjoy the descent even more.As far as F1 goes.. i think i would rather risk a drive in an F1 car with guessed wheel nut torques than a lightweight carbon road bike build that was guessed.

Seat post height is fine for a 5spot.No point in pointing that out when theres 6 ft riders on 16″ hardtails lurking close by!

The headtube angle is fine too. It`ll be the lens of the camera.

This is something a few bike company owners do (on here) They take pics of complete builds for their websites with the lens wound right in to get the whole bike in.Its a shame as some of the pics make a perfectly good looking bike all wrong.Walk back 25ft and zoom in a little if you dont have the lens that`ll cope! This isnt having a go at you, hora. You are showing us yer bike so it dont matter! Looks good fun btw.

Emma, you probably got that because theres an app running on your account.Check the settings and delete all the ones that shouldnt be there.

Someone correct me on that if i`m wrong but i think thats what could have happened.

Ive owned 3 of these (currently own two) and when i was riding them and racing them i never found them uncomfy. If i had the post to fit i would have an sdg formula fx on it or a gobi xm kium. Slap 100mm up front with a nice saddle.Tyre choice is endless as theres more room than half of the hardtails out there today.

Havent been for over a year.I like melvich when its near perfect.Never forget it when i was the only one in with something like 16ft / 14 secs.seemed to be giving around 4-5ft waves of perfection just peeling off from the river. It was super clear too.You could see the sand all around you and anything else that lurked ;O)

Been in there in silly conditions too though.Soon got out and called it a day.If i had the skill and confidence (which i`ll never have) i would love to tackle brims ness near thurso but ive seen how shallow it can be further out depending on the tide.Once saw rocks sticking out of the water about 100ft and with waves that appear out of nowhere on a good day, its just asking for death!

Yeah, and lets see the 21 stone rider get down the techy trail with one complete bike having hammered a set of 29er wheels over all the rocks.

Walking home with a broken bike AINT quicker than getting home in one piece on a 26er ;op

but wait! It IS possible.By over building the bike to bring it in line with the strength and stiffness of its 26 inch wheeled wee brother.Job done.

    But wait!

How shit can a bike feel to ride with rims, tyres, frame material weighing all that extra over the 26inch versions?! For the lardy folk, i recon it would be more fun sitting at home watching mtb dvd`s ;OP

my 90tdi has ran sweet with oil and filter changes every 10k.Its now over 215k.

I would be worried about the state of the car if its over 9-ish years old.My car was a mess with the scottish road salt after 8 years. So many parts underneath have seized. The connection linking the abs sensors to the abs unit corroded into powder and i`m sure thats not the only connections that are a mess.Ask to see the old MOT advisory sheets to get an idea of its history.

Building a robot and data logging one bike next to another around a certain track is all very well but it will never replicate riding styles and mistakes.

I would think the best people to ask are seasoned racers that are completely in tune with there bikes every detail/set-up

As with any bike – a advantage in one area is compromise in the hands of another man.

I think we need to be asking what we want from a bike first and then ask the question would 29″ wheels be an advantage?”

Spot on. Best ive read on here in months!

This is what i did for myself and like ive said in the past, having owned 20″ 24″ 26″ and 29″ wheeled bikes.. i found, for the type of riding, places i ride and the speed that i generally ride at.. the 29er was not the happy medium.I want a wheel thats fairly tough for its size.It needs to climb well at slower speeds (please dont go into detail on how a bigger wheel will climb up a hill easier at slow revolutions than a 26 of the same girth/build – It sucks! end of!)

Like Sefton has just pointed out, look at your riding style, the terrain and what you want out of a bike before buying into something and find out that its not quite as good as 26inch in so many areas.. only to find out that for you,its only helping you out over 5% of your favourite ride.

If you have a regular loop that involves a 3 mile climb, real techy hair pinned descent lasting 1 mile, finishing up with 400 yards of swoopy singletrack.. then forget it.Regardless of weight/fitness. Stick with a 26 inch wheeled bike.

Yes, the 29er will do all of that but for the burly rider that ploughs up the 3 mile climb at under 4mph,hammers down the tech trail with 26 inch wheels that he knows will last a few years of the same treatment without failing under the first little mistake, getting all pringled.. only to enjoy the final 400 yards sitting IN a nice 29er? Nah,honestly.. its once you feel how in control you are of smaller wheels (20 and 24) that you realise that 26 is a great happy medium. Remember,i described the above with a hefty rider in mind with nowhere near enough fitness to fire him up a crazy climb over 8,10,12?mph,spinning those wheels up and never having to basicially accelerate them from standing starts on the techy sections is great.. for whippets.

The majority of folk dont have that fitness and more than likely, arent built like that on here so have a good think about where you ride, what you are like as a rider etc first.

fire a pair of new discs on up front to see how it feels. They will only cost about 60 quid. Each year my cheapy discs on one of the cars decide to pack in and although they arent badly worn.. they develop a nasty pulsating as you brake from around 20mph to a stop.New discs always cures my prob.
what about removing the wheels and discs to clean behind them so that the faces are spotless? Nothing like a free fix.. although i would guess its going to be a part or 2 needing replaced.
