I wonder if Sam Hills fitness is better than its ever been. It might be enough for him to keep on ploughing through the pain and take a very good place on the podium. GM 2nd and DH 3rd. Gwinn …7th!

Sorry, bit off topic. I was happy enough with my 3GS but recently it decided that it didn’t want to accept the password. I’ve never changed it and this has stopped me using a great wee phone. Anyone else have this prob?

I’ve been busy but watched parts of it. As of the past few days, Andy Ruffell has mentioned that boxes of bike parts have been found containing his old bike. Hutch pedals etc and its currently getting built back up. Can’t wait to see it.

Edit: Looks like he might not be doing the old style pug axles.

Peugeot Ecosse in Bo Ness replaced mine for around 450 parts labour on a 106. Not sure if they’re the same torsion bars but I do have the old beam (rusty calipers etc) if you want it. It’a been laying there (outside) for about 5 years+. Can collect Dingwall/Inverness if it’s any use.

I was out on mine earlier and said to myself ‘this is just so spot on’ (comfort) but I think I get on better with 2.35’s on the bike if I need control. I know that I can’t rag down stuff on this setup, but I never fitted them to rag.

Go for the stretched look. I’ve got trail blazers on 52mm hugo’s. Maybe what you’ve got is a bit iffy, kinda like what I was talking to someone about yesterday.. an IRC Kujo on a 717 disc rim :OD

I’ve ridden a few now and taken one around parts of the puffer/catsback. Both rides were carting stuff to the hills (camera and stuff) and it made it a piece of piss. I like the idea of one to go for after work jaunts with a sleeping bag, bivi, mat, fishing rod and food. This all weighs quite a bit and the thought of getting into the hills from Coulags etc would be a breeze. Then still fun coming back down. It’s just such a slog dragging all that gear and pushing it. The assist/walk modes on E bikes are real handy for this.

You don’t slate people for having motorbikes when they’re perfectly able to ride a push bike. This is just something different. Fun, not just a walk in the park without breaking a sweat, far from it. Try one.

Taken a few nights ago in the moonlight. Worth opening up in Flickr for a snoop around the landscape. The light in some of the other pics beats daylight for showing off the mountains.

I love the threaded rod and washer kit people make up to fit headsets and press fit bb’s. It just ends up making the workshop more money.. especially the one’s who use this botch on press fits.

I don’t get it either. Why do 1.5 laps?

Stumpy, I’ve recently bought a pair of those Jordans (same OG as you posted) probably never wear them though!

The sad thing is, I’ve got more money in unused sneakers than bikes.

Aye, def worth adding in an Applecross loop. One part I know I’d love to add in is hanging a south turn at Stromeferry to Dornie. Take the singletrack road out of Dornie above Loch Duich and head up the stunning Mam Ratagan for some amazing views. Then enjoy the descent down through Glenelg. The ferry crossing will be cheap £5? but to add what you’ve just witnessed onto the tour, it’ll be one of the best fivers you’ve spent.

It happens on most I’ve seen with a 42t. It can be a mare if your bike is loaded up, you’re in the hills and stopping and starting on techy sections in first gear. A slight back pedal and it’s derrailed, so you can’t put any power down straight away to get going as normal.

Also worth checking the drive side shell bearing while you’ve got the body off to see if they’ve replaced it or not. Even with the correct tools, it’s not often as easy as the others.

Considered it but its half a pound heavier than my Venom 300 so I’ll stick with the old bag! Thanks though.

It’s like chalk and cheese between the Letterewe estate and Fisherfield Estate (north) weatherwise this eve. Beautiful around Slioch but north of Gairloch its low cloud/misty and very scenic. Nice temperature though so it’s all good for them.

Just done an evening ride around Fisherfield on the motorbike. As I dropped down into Kinlochewe, a rider loaded up was coming out of Incheril. Someone scratched and chose to take a direct route from Shenavall to Lochan Fada?

Yep, midge net! Just back from a motorbike ride through Gairloch and up to Gruinard.. was getting bitten in a breeze. HT550 folk must be suffering a bit.

I think the coloured ones rrp’d about 69quid, and this LE version 139. If you want one, the limited edition probably doesn’t crop up too often so if it’s nice, buy it. You’ll sell it on when the market will be in your favour later in life for what you paid for it+

Had 650b hugo 52 with a trailblazer in there around July last year with decent mud clearance so anything less would be fine.

I chipped the bone next to the knuckle 3 weeks ago. I couldn’t see any crack on the xray but took their word for it. It was taped to the next finger for a week and is still swollen compared to the other finger. Not a full on fracture so it’s probably not all that bad but catching it on stuff over the first week was sore and I still cant grip tight enough to form a fist. I’m now stretching it and trying some kind of massage each day and its been good over the past few days. Hot water, cold water, hot water – repeat, before the massage is feeling good. Maybe ask someone how long you should wait before you start any stretching or deep massages!

Monday – went out for a ride and pushed the bike up easy hills three times within 8 miles. Just felt so drained. Felt drained for days leading up to this. Quite a few folk over the past few weeks have been feeling crap with heavy legs, some are off work too. It could be this virus thing you’ve got.

Within a day, I’ve had 3 different bikes, all with broken kmc missinglinks. Hard to believe but it’s true. Husband and wifes bikes, same problem on both, and another bike the day before with a cracked link. So, yeah.. fit a sram on it.

I popped into my LBS earlier today they were selling a mum a decent first bike for her little lass, making sure it fitted the girl properly, making a fuss of her and generally making the world a better place – one new cyclist at a time.

I hate to use the word but..

    BOOM!

Thanks for reeling us all right back for a reality check there. We often get so lost on the forums and end up nearly convincing ourselves that anyone can go out and buy the right bike for the little one as easy as buying a loaf of bread.

Junk miles – descending for your next climb during Rapha Rising.. in shitty weather. Wearing out your rims a lot quicker than normal.
