FWIW my Torchy battery was dead when I came to try and charge it, and as it was only used for one winter I’m not impressed – have had better lifespan out of cheap Chinese ones. Its’ probably my own fault for not charging it regularly, but I’ve not charged either since the spring and it’s the Torchy one that hasn’t took a charge, not the (older) Chinese one. Will try MTB batteries next time.

Agree with that – just sold a 105 chain set where the bidding went over £40, with a £35.00 buy it now price… people seem to lose the plot when bidding on ebay!

That sir, is spectacular! Although it begs the question what you were searching for….

Same story here, took me around 3 weeks to get a refund after they promised something they (or rather their supplier) didn’t have in stock. Won’t touch with a bargepole. Keep at them, they did mine eventually…

I’m using an 11-46 10 speed Sunrace cassette with an SLX M7000 11 speed mech – works perfectly

I’m in, first go so hoping it doesn’t get cancelled! Second ever race after the IoM End to End – got to be better than that!

Almost afraid of posting on this thread now! I bought a 64 plate Golf Bluemotion estate 12 months ago, and despite the trip computers 66mpg-ish long term over-estimate get around a true 58-62 mpg from it, doing around 20K/pa of mostly motorway driving. The other options were one of the newer “efficient” petrols, or hybrid electic – second hand (which is how most people buy cars in the real world), nothing else made sense than an efficient diesel for my circumstances. One of my concerns with an electric vehicle is what effect strapping a mountain bike to the roof – as most of us do – would do to the range? Any experience on that from someone who actually has an electric car?

I’m 55 and a bit (lot) of a coward and I bought a Cotic Rocket – hugely confidence inspiring, climbs brilliantly, and descends far better than I ever will. The main thing for me was it just seemed to “fit” correctly, which was the biggest revelation. The newest one has different geometry etc. but well worth checking out – as would the other bikes in the range, so as other people have said, give them a call – great people to deal with.

No idea on weight apart from ****ing heavy! Climbs well though and I’m too tight to be a weight weenie :-)

5’11” on a large with a 50mm stem, and a 125mm Reverb, which is too short – longish arms and legs – fits me like a glove. Would have thought at 5’8″ a medium would be better – again depending on where you are, you’re welcome to try mine for size

Maybe I’m reading the info on the web wrong, but the Sirius seemed to have a tapered head tube, so should be able to take an external cup and then a tapered fork? OP says he is looking for an 1 1/8″ fork, not that he has an 1 1/8″ headtube – will be worth him checking the frame as a start

Oops… thats’ what you get for not reading questions properly!

Why not use a Hope pick n mix headset and then just use tapered forks?

I’ve recently gone singlespeed just to try it out, and get some extra training in. Not using your thumbs certainly takes some getting used to!  All in all though, depending on the rides they do and the terrain, its’ definitely worth a try – good luck whatever happens

I did mine with a Superstar cassette spacer kit £10, “Weaponised” tensioner from ebay for £17.00, then used a 16T rear I had from an old cassette, and a used N/W oval ring and 8 speed chain I had lying about – all seems to work. Not pretty, but cheap and it does the job ;-)

Me too… long and boring story which I won’t go into, but it involves wrong items being sent out, then replaced with more wrong items, then replaced (again) with the same wrong item – ending up with them saying it was my fault! Definitely won’t touch with them with a barge pole again, regardless of how cheap anything looks.

Lots of random colours on my bikes, but my Cotic Rocket is green with orange ano bits – I’m quite happy with it, despite it being from several different manufacturers! If you don’t like it, don’t look at it! ;-)

Drop forks out and weigh them separately and take them off the above, should give you an idea? Unless you’re not running them on it?

Maybe I’m confused, but 29″ or 650B wheels – if the latter, maybe a new Cotic BFE?

Ah just realised that they do a 10-speed in the M7000 range, but I meant the 11 speed anyway – cheers

Yep, all 10 speed, except it is an SLX front shifter I think (not that that should make any difference) – cheers Fathomer. I’m looking at the SLX specifically as that is supposed to go up to a 46T on a 1x set-up, which is what I have.

Same here – one order had 5 items, I got three boxes of increasing size (the biggest one being the size of a printer) and a small jiffy bag – the whole order could have fitted in the jiffy bag….

Not sure, but think you can get a Cotic Rocket with a coil? You’d have to ask them, but generally very quick to respond

Done – good luck to him….. In my Uni days, we filled them out ourselves, but that was before the interweb….:-)

Built mine up from a frame, and went from 120 to 150mm forks, which was an improvement. Was too short for me though, so ended up moving all the kit off onto a different (FS) frame. It has a solid mech hanger which I managed to bend twice, which might be an issue if you’re as clumsy as me (though few people are to be fair!). In short, a good, cheap frame, but if you can spend more, there are definitely better frames out there.

Target Composites are very highly recommended (Cheshire)

Wow – good luck with that! A 13 year old bike with a Chinese (presumably) motor bolted to it – what could go wrong?? :-)

Similar sort of interest here – thinking (dangerous I know!) of building a boost rigid for winter, so the fork is an issue for me too – Kinesis do one but they’re nearly £300 :-(

Had a similar (ish) issue recently and went for bar mount, just to future-proof things. Not as neat and tidy, but it worked. Very frustrating though…

Waterproof socks are ace, better than my Sealskinz anyway. I had one of the last batch of turbo trainers, but wore through the roller on the first use (eek!) as it seemed to made of cheese – that’s what you get for buying from a grocery store I suppose….

I had an 18″ in large – good fun frame, very chuckable. Felt a lot more better when it had a 150mm fork on the front than the 130mm it started with – though to be fair I went from a Sektor to a Yari, so that will have been a large part of it. I’m just under 6’0″, and ran it with a 50mm stem, but the reach is quite short, which is why I took all the parts off and transferred to a longer one. I’d have no hesitation recommending the 45650B frame though if it suits your riding.

After being the recipient of a donated tube recently, I’d hand one over too! In my defence that was after a tubeless tyre split enough not to seal, then I went through the 2 tubes I had with me as back-ups….

Ordered a pair of the winter gloves off them, which failed after a couple of uses – sent them back and they issued a credit in full as they didn’t have any more. Don’t think I’d chance them again – pity really as the gloves seemed very good initially

Thule 591 (or whatever is the current version?)- alloy, so have been using mine for years with no rusting :-)
