Just to be different I didn’t like the Talboy (too twitchy) or the Sultan (goes through travel too quick, dreadful pedalling out of the saddle). If you’re not in a hurry wait to try some of the newer offerings. Yeti, Transition etc.

It all depends on whether your racing, taking long day out ec, etc

Drove the Range Rover Evoque quarter of a mile to Waitrose and bought some fresh Croissant and coffee beans.

Occasionally useful, particularly for setting reminders you would never be bothered to type in. I probably use it most for setting timers when cooking.

If the Garmin does ANT+ then you can get a Wahoo ANT+ adaptor for the iPhone/iPad

29er with wide rims and low pressures makes for a great rigid. I’d recommend taking a look at the steel Jones

Hopefully entering some of the Gravity Enduro’s on my T29 unless the Kngdom Savant appears and is as good to ride as it looks online

Nothing wrong with a 140mm travel 29er. My large Tracer 29 runs quite happily with 800g non DH tyres and Flow rims. I do have a pair of WTB Dissents if things do get rocky but I’ve not really needed them yet.

    Weighs around 33lbs

Got an L Screamy near Swinley if thats of any use. I’ve seen a photo of one at the top of Leith Hill but don’t know who owns it.

Transition TransAm29 has a horizontal dropout option but I don’t think they’re sliders.

Never thought my Jones would be out pinked, but that one does it.

I had a DW 2009. Didn’t get on with it. I like to stand and pedal out of the saddle, it didn’t. The RP23 blew through its travel to quick and a 140mm fork put the front too high. Hopefully the ’11 changes fixed some of the issues I had with the geometry but I dont think DW and I will ever get on

If you want to go fast then the Scandal is great. If you want to have fun then save your pennies. Of course it is possible that by the time you’ve saved enough for a Yelli Sam might have Buzzards available and you’ll have to reconsider.

Had mine a while now and really like it. Descends really well, great on singletrack, easy to jump. Not much bad to say other than I’d have liked an ISCG

    singlespeedstu might be along shortly.

I’ve seen photos of a black one at Leith Hill owned by wobbem I think.

Loved it. So much better than the over hyped 3 minute gap or Lifecycles. Short for a movie, but perfect for watching in one sitting. Semenuk and Stevie Smith sections were the standout for me. Oh, and I now want a boat with its own waterside.

It’s a great fork and i paid full price. For $349 it’s an absolute bargain.

As much as i like Pembrokeshire, I’d head to Aberdovey. Great beaches with massive sand dunes for the fat bike

The Crown Estate isn’t owned by the Royals. It is part of the government, profits go to the government. It manages the Crown lands which the royals handed over in return for a regular income (the civil list).

The Look Out and, I assume the car park, are leased by Bracknell Forest Borough Council. I guess if car park fees were levied they would go to the council, not Crown Estates so would have no impact on trail maintenance.

I’m not the only one who remembers Blood on the saddle then Pigface. Used to have the first album on vinyl but can’t find it digital anywhere.

Further votes for Lucinda Williams, Gillian W etc. nice to see Iris Dement mentioned although not enough John Prine fans out there.

But with a lot more grip!

It really depends on what you plan to do with them. Ardent and Ralph’s come in 2.4s, Conti have announced Mountain Kng 2 and Rubber Queens in big sizes (and the new tyres are supposed to be to size unlike previous efforts), Schwalbe Hans Dampfs look like they’ll be big too.

Bontrager FR3s in 2.35 are pretty chunky.

Only made 2 of the series and had hoped to make Afan but going to be away instead. Next year I must plan better

Seems that Sietse-Arne Schelpe used to run mtb-live.com. The URL redirects to rrn. You can find some of their video content on YouTube, Vimeo and Freecaster. They even use that same font on one of their Vimeo vids.

Yes, I have one and love it. I bought mine from Canfield Europe, not the cheapest way to buy it but at the time it was the quickest And Si had said he wasn’t getting any.

The new colours look even better than the old ones

I too went here a lot as a kid on holiday. Love the area. Great coastal walks and beaches. Just needs more bike paths.

For useless trivia, my dad’s 2nd wife’s brother built the first shop down at Whitesands…

Rode a DW Turner for a year before switching to Tracer. The Intense is a better climber and has better trail feedback. But some people prefer the plush-/dull-ness of the DW-Link

Looking forward to someone making a 160mm fork.

Until then I’ll continue taking my life in my hands my riding fire roads. All that gravel can be quite risky with big wheels.

A hard tail is fine. One very root section that only becomes a problem if you’re riding solo and its getting dark.
