Be honest. You were just scouting out the place so you're ready to race in next year's SSUK.

Given up trying to get Boones. Even the new supplier seems to be having problems.

I quite like the look of the E-13 Guide rings.

I think I can name quite a few of the owners, probably around a dozen or so in total

Lucky enough to see it last weekend when it flew over Sandhurst. No idea where it had been.

Years since I last saw one. They used to regularly practice their low level flying where I walked to school.

Had my Paradox about 6 weeks now and love it. Just wants to be chucked around and off things and yet can still be ridden up hill with ease.

Feel free to drop me a line if you want to give it a try (I'm Swinley way). I have to warn you that mine is built up single speed though.

USPS tracking always says failed to deliver when Parcelfarce have sent the tax letter. I've had it happen a few times. Last time the sent the letter to the wrong address

Very tempted by the Edge composite rims. You can't see the Carbon steerer tube in the photo.

Less parts to bling with a singlespeed, but you can still try

I agree, be nice to see who was SS.

Happy to have finished, happier to be 27th vet male. Now if I can just convince them to have a super vet category next year…

Congratulations. You do realise that you will have to actually get out and ride a MTB ocassionally now?

Belated thanks to all the marshals, organisers and other behind the scenes folk that made the race possible and run so smoothly. I think all the comments so far pretty much some up the experience. Certainly glad to have entered and more than glad to have finished.

I've just been cleaning the bike. I'm amazed that the sand & mud mix left any brake pad at all. Even after a good wash there will be some of Kielder ingrained in the frame's nooks and crannies for months to come.

I have it GPS'ed and post the details once I'm home. Fairly certain it was more than 100 miles.

Mary's are narrower and harsher than H-Bars. The new Ragley Carnegies are a similar width to the H-bar but still not as comfy. A lot cheaper though

Ordered mine from the Effetto Mariposa website.

Easy to squirt in. Yes, you really can do it with the value in place. Sealed a hole in my sidewall as advertised.

Last year the weeks before the 12:12 was some of the dryest all summer, then it rained heavily the day and night before. Hopefully not this time.

Still with American Bicycle Group.15 weeks now although they assured me that it would be sent back this week. Looks like they've got one day left before I email the CEO again

I was luckily in the trees at the time of the rain. The trails were great and were even better after the downpour, a little less dusty.

Hope you had a good ride too.

Maybe next time I won't be in such a rush and will stop and say hello.

It's going to be hard not to stop for tea and cakes at 65 miles and probably even harder to get going again.

My kit list is missing one important element – a bike. But luckily that isn't on the required equipment list

Before this week I thought my prep was going well. Need to go and sort out a 'demo' ride today.

The views of people I meet when out riding seem to be diametrically opposed to the posters in this forum.

I’ve had three 29ers and I’m never going back. Pretty much everything I ride is rooty, muddy, loose, tight and twisty woody singletrack and none have them are slow through this stuff. If you’re chasing someone on a 26er it feels like you’re cheating.

If you want to try one try and demo it for a few days, you need to adjust your riding style to get the best out of them otherwise they can seem a bit sluggish and less manoeuvrable.

The only knee pain I get from SSing is if my saddle is too low and I’m having to spin fast. My knee pain has its roots in an older injury. If anything, SSing has improved the knee strength and I get less problems overall.

I’m certainly not planning on using it to ride epics. Steel or Ti hardtails are fine for that. My plan is more in line with stu’s comment above about big.

You could always follow singlespeedpunk’s trend setting ways and add a Thudbuster. Do they do a Gravity dropper/Thudbuster combo?

I was looking for a long travel hard tail and couldn’t contemplate going back to a 26″. The angles looked exactly what I was looking for.

I’d be surprised if it wasn’t a little harsher than my other bikes at the back, but I’m sure you’re right when you said over on mtbr that a big tyre at the back will help smooth things out.I run my 29ers tubeless and can easily drop to 20-25lbs if need be. I’ve only ever run 2.25s but with the 2.4 Ardent due out soon that could be the perfect tyre for this bike and setup.

Yes, it is the best bike I have ever owned/ridden. I am no where near capable of pushing it to its limit.
