Cheers Mark that’s Brilliant! I’ll ask the shop about dimensions etc to get a shipping quote, and see if they’ll supply it to you in the box. Will get back to you and see how we go. Do you have an email address I can get you on? Mine is rwinder001ATgmail.com.

Thanks again, STW never ceases to amaze me

When we were over there several years back the driving was bad. We did the paragliding thing, the truck ride up there was so terrifying that running off a mountain strapped to another bloke seemed pretty relaxing!

Great race, good show down the entire field. Glad to see the championship getting closed right up.

Good result for Button as well, shame he didn’t have another lap…..

What have all the grid girls got on, is that the new british national uniform?

First bike I can remember having was a budgie, I lost a lot of teeth on that bike! First one I bought with my own hard earned was a Townsend mtb.

I just play socially at my club to get my skills up. To be honest the hardest part about playing my son is adjusting to how hard to hit it between knocking up with him and the adult games.

I just went through the racquet thing a few months back. My previous one was 20 years old (a very expensive prince one) and I ended up buying a Wilson Fierce BLX (probably about 60 quid over there) It feels like it has a lot more control to be honest and I am playing better with it. It has a lighter head than I was used to so I’m able to get more spin on the ball.

Hang around for a year, and those high end bikes get cheaper as everything changes colour for the next year. Not everyone pays full whack for stuff :D

My first serious bike felt like cost me a lot more than the 400 quid I paid for it. I worked 2 years on my paper round and saved up for it. On the face of it, later purchases did cost a lot more but felt less significant as my salary was a lot higher.

I’d also argue that bikes cost a lot more 20 years ago. That 400 quid GT Karakoram was a rigid steel frame with canti’s and a penchant for wheels buckling. Nowadays a 400 quid bike will weigh less, function better and probably put up with a lot more (ab)use

I’d wager that there’s more nasties on the average tea towel than there are on a set of clothes….

I’m not seeing a problem with what you do, common accepted practice in our household. After all, they’re all getting washed right?

Good point CountZero – A lot of the older guys I play with, who have knackered knees, love playing on the grass courts the club has, saying it’s a lot easier on the joints. I’m lucky in that my 20 year hiatus from playing seems to have saved me from that fate….

My son has some on his 24″ bike. Not the greatest forks, but for someone who weighs 25 Kg they’re okay – they take the sting out of things, damping is non existent, but they’ve held up so far to a year and a half of riding.

As above, you may have an engine that’s not going to last much longer now stuff’s passed through the turbo. I’d be taking a glow plug or two out and having a looking with an arthroscope(or somesuch thingy)

If the GTR is the same as the 2013 GT then I’d go for that. I’ve had my gt for 16 months now. The handlings a lot sharper than the Cannondale Six it replaced and at the same time damps out the buzz a bit more, especially at the rear, the front end was a tad stiffer than the ‘dales forks. I still like riding it and it does turn heads when it’s out and about as it’s a good looking bike (also somewhat rarer than bianchis and pinarellos down here in Perth)

You won’t go wrong with either of them tbh, see if you can grab a ride on them and make a decision then.

That is good news :) I’d imagine the last few weeks gave been very difficult.

Just 3 1/2 weeks from our second being born and work is sending me 4500kms away for 5 nights next week! I’m just worrying about an early arrival now…..

I use a trailer net over my luggage when I’ve got a boot full, usually lash it to the load hooks, and because it’s stretchy you can all manner of stuff secured.

The ones I’ve seen are very small inside and quite heavy for their size when . A roof tent and awning would be a better option IMHO, it’s also a far cheaper one as well.

There’s a big love of going camping in Oz, but a lot of people don’t seem to want to leave their home comforts behind – I’ve event seen powered sites with people sitting under their gazebo’s on sofa’s watching TV and reaching for a cold one out of the full size fridge they’ve brought with them! It doesn’t stack up as camping for me, which should be slightly different to being at home!

It looks very similar to no. 96 on here, I only picked that one as a colleague ripped one off his masi last week.

Everyone got out, the waters rose pretty slowly to a level of 10m, due to a combination of freak weather, a dam failure followed by a dyke failure….

Great stuff, it’s too easy to take what he can do for granted, given that he makes it look so effortless.

Conti GP4000’s get my vote, last an age, seem to have been pretty puncture proof for me and grip really well in the wet or dry.

Here’s mine, Northrop F5, I always thought this was what every fighter should look like when I was a boy, even made a model of one.

I’d probably go for the Voodoo Bizango and then look at upgrading a few bits if you can do that through BTW? Strikes me as less XC than the Boardman and more like the On One

Looking at the photo’s, it looks as though it has adjustable dropouts as well, should the one gear thing float your boat at some time.

Definitely get it checked out. My scaphoid fracture took 2 weeks to identify as it only opened up when the swelling went down. 6 weeks in a splint after it was found. As above, if it is that and it’s not properly treated it can lead to blood supply issues etc.

6’3″ here with 34″ inside leg. Riding a 58cm Wilier. I have a mate virtually identical in build who prefers a 60cm frame though, so it’s all a matter of preference. IF you’re buying a racier frame and want a higher front end then a larger frame will have a longer HT, whereas a sportive kind of bike will have a taller HT on a smaller frame.

Clearly busy then, ours took 3 weeks from posting to get back to us in Perth, that was 6 months ago.

Another thing to do, if you have room, is plant hawthorn’s all around the garage, so the only “comfortable” way in is through the door.

Try a spot of guitar playing, I bought my son one when he was 4, he’s played about a bit with it but wants to get a bit more into it now (he’s 6 now) He’ll be miles better than I’ll ever be if he keeps it up as he’s had a 15 year headstart on me. We “jam” for half an hour every couple of days combined with a few exercises from his book.

As above, Lego’s always a good one :)

Active suspension being mooted for a comeback, under the guise of cost saving! I’d think it more relevant if it was brought back under the guise of road car development going this way, there are already some seriously sophisticated suspension systems out there, about time F1 reflected it…I’d like to see some circuits with lots of brkaing bumps in to make it trickier for the systems though!

Good piece on why Mattiacci was chosen as Domincalli’s replacement.

I’m sure it’ll change quite a bit for production, there’s too much metal above the rear wheel and to my eyes it just doesn’t have enough utility in it’s design/ I also like the 4 round lights at night on the current discos, and thought it was a signature, but clearly not!

It’s probably on 36″ wheels(or something slightly smaller maybe)for the concept as well

Shame about Dominicali going, I always thought he was Ferraris voice of reason as opposed to do montezemelo’s ranting. I don’t know why he’s gone, Ferrari were pretty much in the mix most years, just the usual RB dominance that got in the way of Alonso winning 2 more titles I reckon.

Go on, buy it, or something similar. I still have to scratch the fast/sports car itch.

I think the golden rule is if you couldn’t afford to run it when it was new, you can’t afford to run a second hand one – the only difference being the purchase price.

Find a good specialist to service it and enjoy!
