Cups just slot in. I’ve used them before and have a set in the shed if you’re interested, £15 posted?
I currently use a reducing headset, an FSA Orbit Z1.5 R, good piece of kit but around 350 if you can find one.

Just got a very good write up in autocar – they reckon it could be one of the fastest point to point cars out there, all for £25k…..

I’d buy one if I could, certainly looks less gran tourismo than the Subamitsu’s

V50 here with nearly 100k on it, feels like it’ll do it again. It all depends on condition of wear items such as clutch, brakes etc. If they’re on their way out then you’ll soon spend more than the cars worth, if they’ve been changed lately and someone else has paid for it, then it should be okay.

My Volvo V50 had a carbon filetr in as original spec, I mad ethe mistake of throwing a cheap one in there at one service and it was noticably poorer, lots more odours getting in, hayfever off the scale etc. I switched back to a carbon filter and it was all well again. I’d say most cars are pretty good, obviously you get better ventilation controls the more expensive you go, mine’s got auto climate which does a very good job of keeping temperature stable. I’m not sure if one cars ventilation is better than another though when you compare manufacturers…

Cakes are made, Debs is able to bake again…

Thank god for that – I *might* get to the end of a ride this week!

    Paul,

Stick with anything from big manufacturers, cheap far east tyres are a false economy and offer very little predictable grip. I dunno if there’s a High Q branch near you, but their generally the cheapest near me – try Hoole tyres if you fancy a jaunt into Chester.

Just managed to get rid of a whole kitchen on it this week – we thought it was past it but some people have made use of it…

Anyway, why’s no-one gone around and found out what the man’s done it for…..it’s all supposition until we know….

By a car with a towbar on it – mines for sale

Mine cost £400 – some new cars have electrical systems that require the manufacturers electrics kit, the bars may be cheap but the electrics may cost….

A stone lighter – what’d he do – remove a pebble from his pocket, that’s the only way he could be a stone lighter

And Marcus, I’m a mincer without a sink, if you don’t mind

Vanish power foam, you may have to do the entire car though, as it really shows up where you’ve just cleaned…

I would imagine that there won’t be many yet. My brother sells them and he says prices are going to go up this month…

I had a test drive 2 weeks ago and it’s the first Vauxhall I’ve been impressed with for years. Really good ride comfort considering the large wheels, good steering, consistent weight to all the controls and it felt like it was built well (this is coming from a Volvo owner as well!)

Any car would bounce around with that on the back – ideally you’d want one with a high noseweight rating for the towbar – less likely to be affected by the weight.

To minimise the effect, just put the heaviest passenger up front!

There’s actually a whole island in Japan where they are generating renewable energy from hydroelectric schemes, using this energy for hydrogen production to go into the fuel cell cars that they drive around in – it’s all on a small scale at the moment but the fuel cell would appear to answer a lot of shortcomings with battery powered electric cars. It’s only the cost of the hyrdogen storage/transport infrastructure that restricting it’s short term growth.

Got one – it’s a very nice peice of kit, can be a bit fiddly to get multiple bikes on to (you have to plan how the arms are going to go through each bike to reach the last bike) but once it’s all on it’s very solid. The slide away from the car trick is very useful as well. Got mine at a reduction on the http://www.roofbox.co.uk returns/bargains section last year, so may be worth a look at that before you buy.

I think the Aztek is universally recognised as the worst car design ever – making the Ford Edsel look like cinderella. IMHO, nothing gets uglierthan an Aztec, although I do get offened by looking at the Mk1 Citroen Picasso, a car that looks the same going backwards as it does forwards..

I’d say go and have a look at the new job – the company clearly has it in mind that more staff are needed, no company in their right mind would be recruiting now if they felt there wasn’t a need.

Met office can supply weather data – in the construction industry we usually use a ‘1 in 10 year’ event as a measure of whether something is a compensation event or not…..the reports can be pretty tailored to do what you want but I think most sewers are designed to cope with a 1 in 100 year event

Wouldn’t mind but I fear I’d be tired after the flight. You going down the bibbulmun trail? (not sure how it’s spelt but it’s **** long) A mate says it’s close to 40 deg C in mid aftrenoon, so take some sun cream :)

Definitely bailing now, still rough, felt beter last night but given the fact that I’m awaiting one of my staff members to return to work so I can ask him about his ‘illness’ I’d better stay in good health myself this week and be in to greet him when he decides he’s had enough time off!

What kind of centre diff does it have? There could be a problem with that – I know some haldex diffs do wear out pretty quickly, also have a quick look at the universal joints on the driveshafts..

    Marmoset
    Free Member

Sound like a CV joint – they sometimes smooth out when the speed/load are right but have a hard time staying smooth when the load is applied and then dropped ie – when accelerating and deccelarating. I’ve had a cv joint and an engine mount go on one of my cars and the engine mount porblem feels like teh cars is trying to kangaroo around more than vibrate.

I ain’t got a HD telly, just a good old fashioned CRT, so it looks okay on that anyway…..

More interested in being able to see an entire race and not missing any moves during ad breaks, rather than being able to see everything in minute detail.
