CP – it would be tricky to flick their ears whilst wearing lobster gloves.

I was toying with the idea of flicking the V’s at him, but thought the better of it, and he would have just got the impression that I had hideously distored fingers!

    Oooh that’s nice

I can’t reconcile who would want a bike covered in some pretty nice kit and an electric motor. To my mind an electric bike is a commuting tool for the ‘low of energy’or somesuch other pc title.

To be fair Steve B, that does give them some credit for visibly moving! They were racing a few smails I think :D

God Joe, what have you started here with this thread – there’ll be no one cycling in tomorrow, they’re all too busy arguing on here!

I had some dominator 5’s that lasted 5 years so they do last well. I replaced them earlier this eyar with some Shimano shoes as the Sidi prices have just gone too high, IME the competition have caught up on making their shoes last longer as well.

I had mine done 20 years ago – they snip the side away and put something on it to stop regrowth – I wouldn’t have a go myself TBH, it’ll hurt a lot.

I’d just head straight for a Saab or Volvo in the scrappy. My Volvo V50 hasn’t left me with any complaints over 130,000 miles and Saab are reknowned for their seat comfort.

Eh? It looked pretty eventful on my telly and was the right result as far as taking it to the wire in Abu Dhabi. Plenty of action in the midfield and nowadays there’s quite a good chance of an engine grenading itself when everyone’s still pusshing until the end.

I’ve been using 2.3 Panaracer Razer MX’s, stood up well to rocky stuff, suprisingly grippy in the damp, fast on the hardpack and very comfy with that big volume.

’tis very personal, I find that Rotosounds last a lot longer under my sausage like fingers than any others I’ve tried. The playing’s not that good, but at least the strings can hack it

It’s relativley easy – you do need some long nose pliers and a strong grip to wind the piston back in if not using a rewind tool. It’s unlikely that the binding is happening due to the disc being warped but that the disc is warped because the caliper is seized – if it’s always dragging it will warp the disc through constant heating. You may need a new caliper but might be able to get away with some gentle braking for a week or two to remove the warping – I’m trying this on my cart after teh tyre fitters overtorqued the wheel nuts.

I’d suggest that only you know the answer to that. I bought an expensive carbon bike a few years back and it’s the best bike I’ve ever owned, others may not feeel that way, but I knoww I like it :)

I’ve always left my racks on the outside unless it’s a very dodgy car park and someone’s likely to have a go at nicking it.

I’d probably go for a 996, but get it checked over very carefully. My fave 911 is the 964, which is not exactly held in high esteem either – shows how much I know! I’d have a 997 if I was forced to :-)

From that 1st photo it looks like the caliiper is not sitting square, so either needs shimming or the mounts need facing to get it back in line.

The point of most wear is where that pad is hitting first, do you drag the brakes a lot though, because I’d have thought that the other pad should exhibit the same wear but the other way around if full pressure is applied.

Quantity Surveyor, seems like a lot of construction professionals are valued more highly overseas than in the UK, and that’s regardless of the overiding economic situation.

Strange Molgrips – my job pays a lot more over there – all depends on the job/demand situation rather than the geographical factors.

It was only that costly as it was the first one – I’d expect productionised versions to be cheaper. Think of it as a poor mans Huf Haus!

Hats off to the man for putting it on the line in order to save his compay and hopefully take some of his old staff back on

    Here’s his website

I actually did my dissertation on prefabricated buildings so quite enjoyed last night and can foresee a lot more of it happening when the housing shortage really gets critical.

It might have been stolen – not many people want to smash their vehicles through gates…..

Yes – we’re in the same situation as the OP, job offer in Sydney etc so i think it’s worth a shot just to see what it’s like. If we don’t take it I think we’ll regret not having a go, we can always come back and no one says you have to stay forever for it to be judged a success.

We think the different things we can show our son over there will also be great for his development.

We’ve just lost a family member through suicide and I can’t even come to terms with what goes through someone’s head to contemplate such an act.

All I do know is that it’s a tragic end to a life and my thoughts and sympathies go out to Jahwombles family…..

Why do they insist on starting races later in these countries with tropical climates – TV schedules are in real danger of denying us a full race whenever they go to the far east……

A race for madmen by Chris Sidwells – probably the best TDF book I’ve read, explains a lot of it’s history in an engaging manner.

A fan of both here, one or the other doesn’t give you enough flexibility IMHO, they fill in the gaps that you get using just one. I’ve got a nukeproof(700 lumens) on the bars and a dinotte (200 lumens) on the helmet – I’d imagine you can easily replicate that sort of set up for under £300 nowadays.
