Moved from Shimano RS10 up to Fulcrum Racing 3’s and it’s a very big difference in acceleration, the way they roll easily and especially the lack of deflection when cornering – descending is a lot more confident on the new wheels – highly recommended (shop owner I bought the new ones from has a pair of 5 yr old Raacing 3’s still going strong after being left untouched)

Happy with my RF Next SL’s – same dimensions as the Six C’s above and feel spot on.

It is looking expensive nowadays but my 8 year old XO mech is still working a treat, I’ve had to straighten the cage a couple of times but the linkages are like new. What’s even better is that it was an ebay bargain from the states for £60!

Some people don’t want to say hello/wave regardless of what they are doing, they’re just naturally grumpy buggers

Cavs in a different league altogether this tour, I was really impressed with his last stage win, taking the classics specialists at the last minute when he looked like he was out of it, all on his own in the last 1km as well…..

Gutted for Wiggo, not sure how he was going to go but the Dauphine win was a good indicator of form.

Edit – I think someone has hacked Elfin’s account :?

Great ride by Cadel, considering he had to sprint back into the peleton a few times….

Go for it, at least you’re involved in repairing the inevitable damage. Do a few years and then decide if you have enough saved up to do something else if you feel strongly enough about it.

I think you can buy dumbell strap ends that slip into the boot and stop the straps pulling through and dont rely on the hooks beeing over the glass, might be the easiest option.

It is 45 degrees, the campy/other spec refers to the OD of the bearings, campy being 41.8mm from memory.

Loosen the straps, I’ve been getting this lately and am new to road clipless – I think it’s because the shoe is so tight on the pedal that you can feel your feet moving in the shoe and thus tighten the shoes up too much. I always need to loosen mine after a few miles….

I’ve replaced 2 lately in separate houses and have used a Triton Cara in ours and a Wickes Aquatronic in the other, both are the same model, both perforn okay IMO and they have multiple options for water entry, so easy to fit.

Wow, 6 pitstops, 21st place at something like 30 laps to go and a win! Great stuff by Jenson……

Long screwdriver and hammer – just drift it out reasonably square so you don’t distort the hub bearing seat.

Never mind the forks, that GT was the first propoer MTB I bought, cost me £400 quid and some scumbag stole it 6 month later and later admitted he sold it on for £40…scarred me for life.

Great bike with 150mm long stem!

Are they going onto external walls? If so, it’s unlikely to be just pasterboard, more like dry lining over the internal block skin of the wall. If this is the case then screw the plates onto the plasterboard with some 5-6″ screws straight into the block. Did that with mine a few years ago and they’re holding fast! There’s generally not enough room between the plasterboard and blocks to allow an expanding butterfly to do it’s thing IME.

Thumbs up from me here, agree that they’re not really for rough terrain so usually canals/roads and cyclepaths here, which is enough TBH, great resistance training BTW.

Yep , oops meant the Commercial – should remember that as my Great Gran used to be the landlady in the 1910’s I think

Clavertons – what a sweaty smokehole that place was, but it was the first place to go into to get an idea about who was out….

Perhaps just send the shock off for a custom tune and buy a good long biking holiday with what you’ve ‘saved’ :D

Check out Alexanders Jazz bar for some comedy on a Saturday

The Continental Hotel is a good place to chill out, if you can find it – up Northgate street from the cross and turn left up an alley past the building society.

Thumbs up for the food in Oddfellows, although it’s pricey and the service was a bit haphazard mid week a few weeks back.

Go slow, slower than you think and then take 10% off that speed.

The one year I did the greatest number of laps in was when I was at my unfittest and under no illusions of being a speed demon – that year taught me a lot…..

Have you got an outlet village nearby? We’ve got one with a Clarks in there – typically half the price of the usual stores, making it somewhat more paletable.

Sounds like you’re after a 4x FS bike from what you’re saying, not xc light but tough with xc travel?

Commencal will probably have something to suit.

I was last there on a 100mm XC hardtail and I reckon I could have gone slightly faster on a 100mm FS bike, through virtue of feeling less beatn up after 2 hours.

I’ve got a loop of T20 reinforcing bar which, I had bent on site, going through the shed floor and cast into quite a large lump of concrete underneath it. Might be cheaper than buying something if you know somebody in the contruction game.

I’ve mashed up the screw heads on the shed hinges, reinforced the frame with more timber and put a proper mortice lock into it, also built the shed with the windows against the fence.

I’m on a 28/42 XO chainset with a 11-34 on the back and find that I’m in big ring most of teh time – the chainline on the double is far friendlier to the big/big combo with a long cage mech and I do find myself in that gear on teh steep climbs, if I know it’s a longer climb then I’ll take it down to the 28T innner and move up the block somewhat – it does make climbing gear changes more reliable as you’re already in the ring you need and it’s just the rear changes required.
Like yourself, I never seemd to use the granny ring on the triple.

was run into by a badger. My lights smashed miles from home in the dark, badger okay.

I have cycled into a New Forest pony. Both of us shocked and okay

My Dad drove into a golden retriever and wrote of his Peugeot, the dog was okay.

A deer stuck it’s head in front of my car. Smashed the headlight and left the head embedded in the radiator, deer did not survive being decapitated.

I head butted a pheasant while on a moped. I was okay, the pheasant was sat there stunned so I tweaked it’s neck and took it home for dinner.
