Crossy road might be quite good – an updated frogger.

Gear cables on my current road bike, internally routed and I think they require the skills of a snake charmer to get them done in quick time!

So you want to see Debs buns around the back of the station?

Yep, I think it’s the people you ride with that make you get out in even the worst conditions.

There’s still a few of us go out on Mondays if work & weather situations line up.

I’m very happy on xl/20″ Rocky Mountains, all of them just have that right mix of speed when you feel like it and quite happy bouncing around when you want to just want to mess about.

    Egremont though, that’s desperate!

I’ve been a few times and enjoyed it, the fact that it’s smaller than CP means it’s quieter and has a bit more of a personal feel to it.

I can’t remember a beach being within walking distance though. Plenty of owl noises at night :D

I like the look of them as well. Currently on a Gran Turismo but would want a disc road bike when I get back to the UK. Did it look like you could get some guards on it? I love my GT but it’s almost too nice to put through winter with no room for guards and I’d rather not have to go through the wet weather caliper braking experience again.

For reference – I’m on an XL (58cm) Gran Turismo which would size up as an XXL GTR disc from looking at TT lengths. I’m a smidge over 6’2″.

If she’s under that much pressure to win, exerted by her father, she might actually be happy it’s been found and she’s out of the game…..

Mine is also loose when I install it on the current car, I just made a shim out of a tin can to slot in there and it’s okay. The rack’s now 12 years old so it’s not done too bad..

I’ve been using one for the last 10 months in a clients office. I seem to lose concentration when standing though. I found that sitting on a gym ball at a normal desk was more beneficial to core strength and posture.

Spare time, in which I may choose to do sweet FA if I so desire…..

    A sports car…

A garage for said sports car and bikes with a well appointed man cave section in which to waste my spare time

I cut 2 or 3 lemons up and boil the kettle with them in the water, do that a few times and all the scale has gone.

10 year old disco 3. Fixed a wiring problem on the air suspension 18 months ago and not had to do anything since…..I may be tempting fate with this post though

I’ve seen “I’m grumpy” on a car at work, though you surely must have a sense of humour to put such a plate on your car?

My 2012 970 Element runs an RS Monarch shock, so there are other options out there. I think it’s a great bike, handles like a 26″ bike, apart from on the uphill hairpins, where it’s length shows, and rolls over just about anything.

It feels like it has far more travel than it actually has.

The only problem I have is finding enough time to ride it.

i couldn’t justify the expense of new Sidis when I had to replace my Dominators a few years ago. The shimano shoes that replaced them weren’t as comfy, didn’t last as long and where a lot heavier. I replaced them with some Giro Codes at a great price and they’re as good as the Sidis were on the bike but a lot better off it, the heel grips are wider and more stable IMHO. I also have some Ergo 3’s and will have a good look at the Giros again if I ever need to replace them (The one thing about Sidis is they do last a long time)

TBH I view it as a money making scheme. A lot of the formal CPD sessions I see on around where I work don’t add anything to my knowledge, the topics lack the depth in their detail that I’d want to see. At times that you have to wonder who does get anything out of them.

It’s probably harder being semi retired as I seem to learn something new “on the job” most months. The definition of formal can be somewhat foggy IMHO, some formal sessions from companies don’t offer you a certificate, so it would be hard to prove if the RICS required proof.

I usually read a book or two to get the hours up as well.

I hope this isn’t Jensons last season. It’s not like he’s making up the numbers is it, great drive last week, looking good this week. There’s too many teams “looking to the future”, it happened a few years back and then a lot of the young guns turned out to be not so quick. Everyone talks about a him like he’s over the hill, and while Alonso is arguably one of the top 3 out there, he’s only a year younger, so not exactly fulfilling that brief of being the future. I think Vettel will bag a few more championships before he retires, it’s pretty easy to forget he’s only 27.

You’re right aracer, the drivers are usually in the least riskiest position when things go pear shaped. The marshals and spectators are more Lilley to get hit by debris and/or the car itself.

You don’t even need a crane on most circuits, just a drag line set up, marshes hooks the car up, gets out of the way, and it’s then just winched to wherever….

Have you got a splint on it? I had mine in a splint for 6 weeks (although it took 2 weeks to identify the break) and was able to do quite a bit but stayed off the bike.

When I did get back on the bike I had to contend with the mind games that the brain plays on you whenever I rode for the next 4-5 months. The physio says the brain sends additional signals for you protect the recently broken parts, even though they’re perfectly usable! Put me right off my rad cross country riding style it did…

It almost looked like some car going on to the left of the picture when they showed the sutil accident scene before. Hoping for some good news but I fear it not be, given all the radio silence about the incident….. :(

I’ve got some Oakley flak jackets, pricey but when you’ve spent that much in them then you look after them. They get used most days over here in Oz, 3 years old now and still as good as new. Just hoping my prescription stays the same at the next test though!

I don’t think that’s too bad, given that it’s entirely feasible that a chain and sprocket arrangement can also be killed off in that distance quite easily ( there was a thread this week on the 1×11 set ups, showing significant wear after several hundred miles) how much are the rings and belts? Given that you don’t have to spend money on lube and time cleaning them that well I’d view it as evens between chain and belt.

I’d happily take a 911 Carrera S or a Cayman GTS and while probably not as technically good as those two, it’d probably have to be on of these in my garage

Take a look in the “families and riding with kids” forum over in mtbr, there’s been plenty of discussion on short cranks. I think people end up buying some short suntour 150mm cranks or something similar and then cut them down further, drill a new hole and to a thread.

Only half way through listening to it but really liking it so far. I’m sure I’ll notice far more when I listen a 2nd/3rd/4th time and without the distraction of the kids milling about!

BTW, how much does it cost on iTunes In the Uk? $17 dollars over here in Oz, which is under a tenner at the moment….

I sent an application off from Oz for our newborn, it was received about 3.5 weeks ago and the status is still on “being processed” – Who knows how long it will be, it may even be back here before the online status changes…

It certainly has people paranoid about them. I must admit that I’m like a meerkat on the odd occasion that I do go down to the sea.

I don’t agree with the drum baiting that’s going on here in WA. If you don;t like the risks then don’t go in. I’ve not heard of all bears/lynx’s/(insert animal of choice here) being shot as there’s a slight risk you’ll get jumped on when walking or riding.

I’m struggling to understand how Perez got to stay ahead of Bitton when he seemed to leave the track in order to retain his place on one of the chicanes? Jot seen a replay yet though.

Hamilton was in a class of his own today, fatest and using less fuel. Impressive :)

Yeah, he looked as though he could do it all again as well. Can’t believe how long he’s been at the top of the xc scene…

Speeds appear to be all over the place but the Red Bulls were pretty quick up the kemmel straight during the race.

I hope not, the first corner thing means it’s over in qualifying if that’s the case.

I’d expect red bull to mount a good challenge here, given how fast they were running skinny wings at Spa.

For god’s sake Binners, don’t even consider holidaying in Oz then. 99.9% of people here will quite happily engage in chatting with a total stranger in a cheerful manner whilst enquiring about one’s health and well being, it’s a total contrast to Manchester, must be weather related… 8)
