http://slrhut.co.uk/search/?q=DMC-LX7 I’ve taken this cycle touring, had a fair few drops and crashes. Very good IQ, physical controls, like a DSLR.

If had this thought too. If you want ‘untouched’ wilderness. You’ll certainly find it in northern Sweden (look how few roads it has on gmaps) check out the Sarek national park although you won’t get a van in coz it was no paths or roads.

I’ve got those exact skewers, they’re pretty naff. They come undone even if you clamp them down tight and they’re not made of titanium, it even says Aluminium on the packet when you get them.

In Dundee it’s about £15-20 for amalgam. £50 for white!

The bill can sometimes come in the post about 10 days after you get your hands on it. It’s like they go out of their way to be cruel

If you want a bit of horrific commercial dance this playlist me and my flatmate made is pretty comprehensive.

I did the 110 mile Pedal Scotland one and there were loads of fat older men who managed it as their first sportive. I’m sure you’ll be fine.

I think from a financial advice pov I would not pay off the mortgage to keep the cash as liquid as possible just in case you need it.

that “no difference” line always feels like someone claiming a £99 apollo is as good a bike as anyone needs. Not that there’s not a huge amount of BS amongst hi-fi types but a good system really does make the records come alive

I have a sweet hi-fi, Objectivedac and O2 Headphone amp driving Sony MDR-V6 and AKG K-550. A 320kbps file sounds just as sweet as lossless. I have done the ABX test double blind on many people who where curious and none could tell any difference. I hate it when people moan about kidz today and their cr*ppy mp3s. The whole point of the mp3 codec is it removes audio data from the file which our brains/ears are literally unable to hear/process.

The thing is.. I can’t see how anyone can possibly tell the difference between a 320mp3 and the original lossless file.. (assuming the mp3 was created from the lossless file in question…)

I wanted to believe that lossless or HD audio etc was way better. but it just isn’t.

Fully agree, I would challenge any indignant audio quality expert on here to add the ABX tester plugin to Foobar2000 and test themselves. You’ll be amazed that there is NO perceptible audio difference when the expectation bias has been removed.

Drivers and esp. lorry drivers have no time for you. As a pesky cyclist you will be the lowest on the foodchain. Better than Bosnia and Kosovo though.

Pretty brutal watch. I worked out the difference in kinetic energy of the rider and bike with fuel assuming 250kg. 115,111 Joles at 60mph, 307,110 Joules at 98mph so 2.7x more energy to convert to heat by the brakes/to slam into the car.

cheers, I’m 24 so most people I know who passed did so many years ago so recommendation isn’t really an option. Might just pick one and see how it goes, prices here seem to be around £23/hour which seems like a good price i think.

£10 for brokerage of your goods through customs sounds pretty fair

Got mine yesterday after waiting weeks! I’m 5’11.7″ slim build 10.5 stone/66kg and it fits PERFECTLY, praise jesus!! It is a short cut compared with a civilian jacket, but no where near as much as my Pissei jacket (which is like a crop-top), and will fit great on the bike. Looks smart and slim cut so will probably not fit a belly in it! :D cosy material, if you go hunting you’ll find some average stitch quality and a couple of loose thread ends but I can accept that for £30.
For layers you will probably be able to fit a long sleeve lycra layer and a thin merino layer if your arms aren’t too thick.

The bum flap thing looks a bit funny, not totally sold on it, I think it would be useful to someone without proper mudguards.

All in all exceptional VFM just need to test in the rain now.

one more thing, the pockets on the back don’t have a thin flap over them like some jackets do so they might fill with the water which runs down the jacket

The problem with using filters or gel is that you are using much more power to create a white light then filtering all the non-green frequencies out than a green led so you’ll get a shortet battery life for a dimmer light

In defence of S24565382 (and not P-X as a whole!) I ordered a jacket on Tuesday the 12th. No word. Messaged in this thread and S24757575 put the last jacket aside for me in store, created an order for me on his day off. I had to phone the store to pay for it on Thursday morning. After letting the phone ring out (15 mins!!) 3 times(!!) on speaker I got through. I asked to pay extra for express courier delivery but was told they’d do that on the house. It’s not here on Sat. Boo hoo. But thanks anyway s2468755

I decided against C2W after reading a lot about it on road.cc .. minimal gain was my conclusion.. though YMMV

you can set it to either delete files that are no longer on the source drive during synchronisation or to keep files that no longer exist on your local drive for maximum safety ( say for example if you accidentally delete some photos

be aware google drive can not do this and isn’t really.suitable for archiving

sq225917, I ordered a jacket on the evening of the 12th order: SO0657507 not heard a peep since. Is that normal? I appreciate weekend etc.

Ok i’ve amended the pricing a bit. I think it’s hard because me and the owner are really into bikes and obviously do all our own repairs and it seems like putting the prices higher is almost like making them beyond what I would ever pay. But that’s obviously a terrible mindset. If anyone lives about pop in and say hi! (we’re just north of the high street on Murray St)

haha oh god I remember that thread, what’s considered by you a “reasonable/fair price for a new inner and fitting”?

Thanks for all the advice, I’ve changed the route. Booking tickets tomorrow so hopefully some bike spaces left on the train.

Nice gloss, what is this 2008?? It looks alright, not a big fan of all the coloured parts of the bike being the same colour, bit boring.

I think the light heads are about as good as they’re going to get. It’s the battery packs which need to improve. The only thing to be wary of is that Royal Mail might bin your Chinese 18650 order.

Glad she’s ok. You’d be doing other cyclists a huge disservice if you don’t push for prosecution.

The chap from the UN on radio 4 tonight said that Israel had been told 17 times that there were refugees inside. It’s just unbelievable that it was a mistake.
