fault code reader wont help if engine management light isnt on!

certainly dont go applying voltage to wiring harness you will fry the ecu!! the sensors only work up to 5volts.worth trying cleaning the throttle butterfly with carb cleaner, if it is not completely closed will cause fast idle.most probably an air leak somewhere if no lights are on.

good to see ae getting a bit of work done.used to love ae but was getting a bit run down.any plans to resurface the jumps on the granny green love section(think thats what its called).the downhill section that used to have jumps,step up ect but now just has bumps :P

spanner light and loss of power is quite often throttle potentiometer(if fitted to this model)which it should be.it is part of the throttle pedal.it is worth disconecting multiplug and reconnecting.

if spanner light is on it is not an emissions related fault as this should put on engine management light.

forget egr fault if fault clears after restart.egr valve is mechanical and causes problems when it is stuck open when it shouldnt be.switching ignition off and on will have no effect on this!..what light comes on is it engine management or spanner light?

re:uplinks suggestion….the aa charge £110 plus whatever the price of there basic membership is that day(roughly £50)if you phone in a breakdown situation.and for that if its not fixable you only get a 10 mile recovery!!!…FACT so dont try that one.

Are 15 and 20mm hubs the same width?

I stripped mine down removed bearings and got numbers from bearings.bought them all from ebay for less than £15.fairly straightforeward job..vice,hammer and selection of sockets :P

was up that neck of the woods last week.pic from top of devils staircase.
