My wife thinks they sent me two sets of forks the other year when they had a clearance offer on and we’re too good to resist!

The oranges felt very similar geometry wise to the Bird, (orange 5,6 and I rode a segment) The whyte although not a bad ride, I was a bit underwhelmed by it, I don’t know if it was a case of having too high expectations from all the good reviews?

I ended up with an Aeris and have no regrets.

What size chain ring are you using?

I tried one on the other year and really liked it, it was comfy, but there seemed to be a massive gap between your head and the shell, I could probably put my thumb in between. I have just been looking on google now and all the images seem to be like this. Is this how they are meant to be, as I sent it back as it felt too big, even thought it felt secure enough.

What about winning a competition or something?

I know there was some scam I read about a while ago, where you were asked to pay a charge on the package or something, it was from a dodgy/fake courier though so I think pretty obvious.

When you say a push,do you mean, you push down into the ground ie preloading the fork before the edge? or pushing out in front?

You should soon be able to get one of the child seats for your bike and take your daughter out with you, which you should be able to do on a weekend. Plan a route that visits a couple of little playgrounds along the way!

Last year I’m sure the last days deal was x% of everything, I’d hold on if I were you!

    +1 for that salclear stuff.

It seems to work really well for an hour or so, then your glasses just seem to get ‘sweaty’ rather than steamed up. Clean and then re apply!

I use a wf-501b torch in mine fits perfectly, plenty bright enough. I also know that a convoy s2 or s3 firs too and is a bit smaller which is what I would go for next.

Don’t the 11speed ones have an extra tooth I’m sure they look bigger than 10 speed ones?

The on one 45650b has a tapered steerer and runs fine with 26″ wheels and forks.

I’ve got an aeris(probably mk1 frame) and been riding mine at least twice a week, since I have had it which is just over a year now. Only just changed the lower shock bush the other week. I have had to nip the bolt up on the pivot bearing a couple of times but the bearing still seems to be running fine.

Nice one, I may have to give it ago. How long does the batteries last? And how many led bulbs did you go for?

How did you manage that MOS? Did you have to drill it?

I’ve been looking into this for Xmas for my lad too, he’s currently been riding an Islabike 14 or 16, but he’s too big for it now, its been great though. He says he now wants a bike with some ‘ears’ like mine. So I’ve been looking at the 20″ bikes, the only one he’s been able to sit on was a Wiggins one in Halfords that seems pretty good, also got my eye on the frog 52, and our lbs also threw a trek something or other into the mix but it wasn’t out at the time. Priceline there all the same, but I Halfords have the discounts that run fairly regular!

It’s ok, has a couple of big vents under the arms to let some air out. I doubt it would be as breathable as some of the others mentioned at the higher costs though. I guess it is more of the ‘plasticy’ type material than a ‘softshell’ material.

I haven’t really used it for prolonged periods though maybe about half an hour tops, it only comes out in an emergency. For me it’s mainly my bare arms that get sweaty inside it from directly touching the material I guess. It’s fine for the job I wanted it to do, and it folds up really small (not much bigger than a fist) to carry around easily.

I’ve just got one of the endura pakajak’s from wiggle seem to do the job and half price at the minute. £17.50, although you have to spend £20 to get free delivery

I’ve been using a ultrafire wf 501b for night riding mounted on my helmet, twice a week for over a year now with no problems. It was less than a tenner! It doesn’t come with any batteries so bought them from torchy.

Someone else I know has just got a convoy s2 or something that seems to work well and is a bit smaller.

I have one of those, fits fine in an exposure mount, although the mount costs more than the light!

I’m signed up for it, never done the bronte one so not much help with the route I’m afraid!

I’ve mostly used bolle ones, just got some bolle prism in clear lens, so far they are really good.

I’ve got one on a bird aeris, and when I first fitted it was useless made naff all difference, emailed them telling them so and mentioned something about the weather been really bad at the time, which it was and wouldn’t stop everything. but argued that my crudcatcher that I had on my other bike was fine. In the end the sent me one of the extender pieces that makes it even longer but it does work and stops everything, although a massive mudguard is now even bigger.

When I was looking for a new helmet I tried one of those Bluegrass Goldeneyes helmet and they seemed massive.

Wouldn’t a normal pump fit anyway? Although I doubt you would get the required pressure.

I’ve just managed to get mine off by sticking the chainring in the grass and standing on the crank arm/pedal and then pulling up on the Allen key tool, using an old seatpost over the top. It came off fairly easy then.

I’ve got the minion SS on the back of mine, coming from a DHR2 all last winter, grip wise and everything it is great. However I don’t really feel that it offers any noticeable difference in speed/rolling resistance over the DHR2 that I used.

I’m using one of the torch style ones, w 501b or something, was about £8 plus a battery. I use a exposure joystick mount to fit it to my helmet about a tenner.

Ha ha, I watched that too. Have you watched the program beforehand, the one thats picked two riders and training them up to do some challenge, with a eurotrash type voice over?

Obviously Commuting is a lot cheaper by bike. But what if you factor in stuff outside of commuting general day to day stuff as well.

Silly stuff like the cost of shopping at the local shop vs doing a big shop at a supermarket.
and Transport for family trips out at the weekend to wherever.

Is it Ok to change route lengths if it’s going well? I’m on the short one but feel I should do the long one!

My Minion SS has just arrived this morning, although like chapaking I don’t want to jinx the weather either so will be waiting a bit to put it on. Probably until the sealant needs changing and then I will swap. I will be running it with a DHF upfront.

At one point they had closed/stopped people going into the car park, as they were towing people into the field! Then advising people to park where they could get.
