Sounds the same as mine and as others have said. Radial head fracture. About 6 weeks before I could lift anything heavyish or hold my own weight on it. But told to keep it moving.

I’m in the same boat I need to buy a new bottle, but have been waiting to see how much peaty’s sealant is going to be too. But there is no date when it’ll be out yet.

Ride sheffield and vp publishing released some alternative routes a few months ago when lady Cannings was closed. VP ROUTES you can easy tag the stanage edge descent on to it.

Apparently, they are having problems with the booking system, I’ve just seen it come up on facebook.

In the words of Bill ‘it was shit’.

Nah I had to slow it down to make it look realistic!

As others have said personally I wouldn’t bother just to ride the two trails, but combined with the natural stuff around it’s a great loop. If your wanting to do just the trails I’d go to greno instead, but there a level up in difficulty.

This is my vid of a loop similar to the one above, to give you an idea, we finished with Lady Cannings and then down the road to the pub.

A few highlights from my cut gate jaunt earlier on in the year. Setting off from Langsett over to the Fairholmes cafe and then back.

I’m pretty sure the seats that fix on the back of the bike have an higher weight rating than 15kg, if that’s an option for you.

I only say as I can remember checking the weight of my yougest making sure he was under the limit and it turned out my oldest happened to be as well not that he would have fit in it.

A similar section I have planned shows from langsett to Glossop to be about 15 miles with rough 400ft of climbing all in the first 3 miles. The flat tyres route looks like it climbs up and over to the TPT which may add another 100-200ft on? It looks like it is pretty much all downhill for from about mile 35 for you. Although I have never ridden past dunford bridge myself.

    Hope that helps

I’ve got the POC’s and they have been great for me, had them about a year. Very comfortable and I can peddle about in them all day easily. As for washing them, I am sure they said they could be washed at 30, well that’s what I’ve been doing anyway and they have been fine.

Another alternative for you, i had quite a few big batteries knocking about that I use for night riding, and used one of these with one of the batteries adaptors with the batteries which worked great. http://www.candb-seen.co.uk/product-dc-battery-adaptor.html

I managed to charge my go pro, Garmin, and about 3 phones(not all mine) from one battery and it still had charge left.

Obviously it depends if you’ve already got a battery or not and whether you were using it for a light already.

I’ve just got this month’s mbuk today and there is a route in around Milton keynes, no idea whether it is any good or not though.

@antares I think I noticed something on one of there flyers picked up from anglers cafe the other day about the 2nd July. That could be it. Although it’s a month after maybe it’s delayed?

You can pretty much pick up the TPT from the back of langsett and follow that all the way to Leeds. Majority of it is off road gravel tracks.

@zoobab I’ve no idea how it happened but here are some of the pics that I had to send off to them.
    Broken Freehub

Like I Say they were really good with the warranty, and the replacement has been running fine since, although I’ve not done a lot miles on it yet.

I can’t help you out but there’s a YT demo day coming up a sherwood pines in May if you can hold on a bit. There are a few others across the country too.

I got some of the stand runs on fuel hubs in the sale just before Christmas, they have not needed trying or anything and work fine, although the free hub did pretty much disintegrate after only about 50 miles, superstar were great with the warranty though to be fair. I’ve probably only put another 100 mile on them since, but currently have no issues.

With regards the noise, I wouldn’t say that there quite as loud as my hope hubs on my other bike.

What I have done is got one of these, (not from this seller just did a quick search on ebay)
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Waterproof-4×18650-Battery-Storage-Case-Box-Holder-For-Bike-LED-Light-SP-/201718088602?hash=item2ef755c39a:g:LgkAAOSwHMJYNrqh

and then get your own 18650 batteries to put in it from torchy or whoever? It probably wont be much cheaper than £40 to be honest, but it has worked so far with loads of different cheap lights that you can get when you fancy a change.

I think a lot of it does depend on the design, but I think it is more to do with getting the aftermarket 10 speed wide range parts to work. Whereas the 11 speed stuff was already designed to work with it. My m8000 mech works fine on my other bike without one.

I’ve just fitted one to mine, 10 speed drive train with the sunrace 11-42 cassette, before I fitted it the shifting was fine, (B-Screw pretty much as far in as it would go). However in the smaller couple of cogs, when any power was put through it would keep slipping. (It was a new drive train)

When you actually look at the mech in these gears the top jockey wheel with the B-Screw in was so far back the chain only wrapped round the top few teeth of the cassette. I fitted one and it allows you to have the adjustment on the B-Screw to bring the top Jockey wheel further forward, enabling some more chain wrap on the smaller cogs.

Which after one ride seems to have fixed my problem with the chain slipping. I wouldn’t say it has made any difference in performance of the actual changing gears up and down though.

Having disappeared upto my waste twice running up there a few months a ago. I’d hardly describe the tiny bit of mud that’s left now as a megabog.

I agree it’s just a nickname that we call it, I don’t think it’ll get any better later on in the summer.

I was up there yesterday and I don’t think you’ll do it in an better condition, there’s only mega bog at the top the rest was fine.

With the descent back to Langsett, agree the right hand descent is better, then left back through the gate and then right back down to the res that way, (unless your going back over). The left descent is more of the same of what you have just done, right just seems to mix it up a bit more.

Having said that we stayed left yesterday!

I wear my knee pads all the time now.
I have tried a few different ones that have come recommended but settled on the POC vpd 2.0 ones which are really comfortable for all day riding Up and down, and seem to offer a fair bit of protection.

Others I have tried are the troy lee KG5450(the longer ones that cover some of your shin) I also like these and were very comfortable for all day riding too, however the grip around the top didn’t quite fit my leg right and was baggy/loose it seemed more like the fit lower down was keeping them in position.

I have also tried the 661 evo?, (Grey ones with orange trim and the D30 stuff in them), these are really comfortable for going down but no good for pedalling uphill in, I found them too bulky.

Fox Enduro, these were very comfortable but very minimalistic, I liked wearing these. However had an off and pretty much worn them through around the pad, my knee was OK, just a bit of bruising though so they did work!

NB: The Fox ones are the only ones that I have crash tested though touch wood!

Not been since last Oct, have they built up the landing now? No way I would’ve tried to roll it last time I was there. Looks a lot easier from that vid but could just be the angle?

I don’t know, that was last October when I was there, I think one side of the drop was lower than the other side, but I wouldn’t recommend rolling it I think I probably got lucky!

This is the drop going in to Bonneville, i’m the slow one at the back that managed to roll it.

I’ve just had my free hub changed over under warranty, they were great to deal with by email, just asked for some photos and they sent me a new one straight away.

I’m not happy that it only lasted a few rides in the first place. Fuel hubs from the xmas sales.

Young lass killing Wharncouver at the weekend, whips, tables, cleared the new line there (can’t remember it’s name)!
    Brilliant to see

One of the other mags has posted a video up today on Facebook, (could have been dirt not sure), it was awesome though!

I’m not a 100% on this but can’t you connect the session to your phone via bluetooth and view where it’s pointing with the app?

    Yes you can

I’ve got a cheap elephone explorer pro that to be honest the footage was fine, but using it was very ‘clunky’ if you know what I mean. It would often freeze, and you had to have a lot of patience in using it.

I have since bought the Go pro hero session 4, which was £150 from argos among other places, and it has been great so far. The only problem being that it doesn’t have a screen on the back to see what you are recording whilst holding it. However this isn’t something I needed after playing with the cheaper camera. On the Go pro one of the good things about it is by just pressing the big button and it will turn on and start recording in a few seconds.

The app is pretty good for editing the footage together too!

I’ve noticed the frogs out on night rides round me, for a good few weeks now.

After Saturday’s ride though I suffered with loads of bites around my shins and calves, are the midges coming early too?

You can get extenders for the Mudhuggers, which will probably do the trick. I needed one for the rear of my bike and it worked well. It has put me off buying the front one as works out quite expensive if you need the extenders.

@teethgrinder have you got any pictures of it mounted to your helmet? I can’t find anything to mount it to my helmet that doesn’t make it stick up too far.

    It’s a great light though!

I’ve been running a 45650b for a while with my old 26″ wheels and forks on, with no problems. The forks were talas with 100-140mm travel and it seemed fine at any length travel for the particular terrain. I have literally just this last week chanfed over to 27.5 wheels and 130mm forks, but only been on a short ride. It looks and feels a lot bigger than the 26″! When in my head it’s only about an 1.5″ bigger!

I have at least half a dozen different rings, that will still have some life left in them, they came off a 3×9 ht2 deore and xt cranks. I don’t really understand your problem but your welcome to try them for the cost of postage? If your interested I can have a look and see what I have tomorrow.

I agree with slight return could a raised platform/ bridge be built over the big bog on the top, it’s been done in other parts of the Peaks. I know the Langsett side mostly and other than a couple of bits on the top, I can’t really think of any other parts that are too bad, it’s mostly rock isn’t it?
