In Camerons speech he talked about how poor social mobility is in this country. I can’t see anything that the Conservative party is proposing or doing will change this.

No. One bike has just the frame left. Another has the original frame & fork. One of the others has just had the cockpit changed, oh and the drivetrain set up. And finally the most recent bike the stem, bars, dropper post, narrow wide chainring, different pedals, converted to tubeless, rear mech will go soon & shifter will go soon. Works in progress…

Don’t own one but have ridden one, thought it was a wonderful bit of kit. Rode it At Bringewood up the the hill and then down the d/h trails and did some of the trails that contour the hill on it and it filled a big talent gap! Can image on less testing trails it would feel like you were overbiked though, bedfordrd’s got the right idea.

Not nostalgic about the kit we had back then even if i did love my Carrera Gravity at the time i wouldn’t want to swing my leg over one now. And I quite like trail centres and that more people are out there on mountain bikes, good init!

I find hardtail bikes quicker over nearly all stuff i’ve done on both types of bike but think its probably me not exploiting the strengths of the full suspension bike that is the reason behind this, either way they are both fun.

My son gave it a go on his 2015 frame using a Giant dropper post. With the Giant post you can adapt it to stealth or external runs which is just as well as he ended up (after a lot of faffing about) running it down the seat post but then up into the opening in the frame above the shock and out of stealth route hole on the top tube. Looks quite neat done like this but its not ideal.

Other than the kink in the top tube the frame looks the same as my 2014 version. If they haven’t messed with the angles i’d drop my cash on the new one, think I’d prefer the 20 speed gearing on the the new one 😕

Maxed out on power so went the leverage route, tried an old pair of 680mm bars over the now slightly bent allen key, no joy. So stepped it up to some 750mm bars and…CRACK! The noise made think something had broke but it was just the allen key bolt surrendering grip, my ears are still ringing…
So If you do the same job on your Camber, get some ear defenders!

Tried that and so far with a park tool 8mm allen key plus a 300 mm adjustable spanner looked onto it all i’ve done is bend the allen key…

Well, the assumption you are making by asking the question is that the end user has no idea how they should work.

I would expect to take a faulty car to any of their dealerships and I would think most people would, say if you had a company car supplied you’d want to be able to take it to the local dealer. Also the bikes we are talking about here aren’t that cheap, its not a £200 tele from Amazon, comparing them to with white goods doesn’t really add up. Also I’m not going to take the tele, fridge, kettle to Scotland and ride it round trails… thats why us punters want bike shops to give us a reasonable response when we have a problem. A solution rather than the brush off, especially if they sell the bike you own.

Thanks for the insight esher, very informative. Not maybe what I want to hear but I understand what is going on more.

The guy I talked to At Specialized Uk said their stores were “not compelled” to carry out the work if you didn’t buy the bike from that particular store. The statement that Tracey posted above seems to directly contradict this and I will be quoting it back to them on the phone tomorrow to see if it gets me anywhere.
    Thanks for that Tracey 😀

Lets get this straight, Wheelies haven’t refused to sort it, its just the inconvenience to me the customer of doing it their way. Also i am really disappointed with the response from the local Specialized concept store as the didn’t even say ‘oh just bring it in, we’ll have a quick look, might be something simple’. It was (and this is not word for word verbatim) ‘we are a stand alone franchise, its nothing to do with us’.

Tracey- Yes I have, they weren’t that helpful.
Chapaping. Yes it was. No one seems to have a good word for them even other Specialized dealers.

Ok, on the guide to buying the cog on the large website that i bought it from it gives you Sram or Shimano compatibility which i read as compatible with either cassett not the free hub. If you look at a Shimano free hub its ridges are rounded not raised squared off sections like Hope’s. Thats why it wouldn’t fit.

Nissan lez Ensurune is alright, the village centre is nice and there are mtb trails on your doorstep if you are taking bikes, good location but a bit charmless out of the village centre..

Get a Bizango, great to start with and upgrade as stuff wears out you’ll end up with a really cracking bike.

I’ve got a 26″ Boardman fs, if i was buying again i’d go a for a large because if you want to fit a shorter stem even if you’re average hight (5’9″ in my case) you will be quite cramped cockpit wise.
Oh and theres a bit flex at the backend when really pressing on but they might of sorted this with the 650 version.

Started driving autos around six years ago, they are good these days. You will take a hit on outright performance & economy but not a massive one. Ninety percent of the time i don’t miss the manual box…
