Did the front disc’s & pads on my 19 year old Volvo just before christmas. £57 for the parts & 2hours of my time. Feeling smug till the next warning next warning light fires up…

I’ve got a 4 year old one (sliding drop out version). Its another triggers broom, just the frame remains. Its single speeded now but great bit of kit however its set up.

Mine is a 1999 V70 auto petrol 2.4 which I seem to spent a lot of time underneath last year sorting the brakes & suspension out. So i’d argue with the bullet proof bit! But I enjoy working on it as they’re fairly straight forward and parts are cheap and to be fair all cars wear out. She is a bit tatty now so the bodywork is top of the list this year. Only done 105,000, engine still pulls like a train. On a long run will get near to 40mpg if i drive like a nun but terrible mpg around town (weather has to be really bad before its used in town, i’d sooner walk or ride). Seats are still the most comfy i’ve ever sat on. They are still wonderful things for long distance driving. 🙂

Hi Will. Yes you’re right, Greg’s dad. I’m still trundling about on the Chase, hasn’t changed much since you left the area but it has its charms. Not quite Squamish though…

Watched the original version of Moby dick on there the other day. Obviously the Whale scenes or a bit comical now but the rest of the film & Gregory peck’s captain Ahab is still impressive.
By the way, is this Will who used to work in Mammoth? if so hows life in Canada these days?

Have a look at Black mountain*. Their small bike starts as a balance bike and as your child grows you can lengthen the frame and add a drivetrain.

*Full disclosure here, my son did the product design on it.

I did a 40km ride on it set up like this yesterday and didn’t shy away from some of the more challenging off piste stuff on my local trails and it worked a treat. But at some point now I know what I want gearing wise I will get a proper sprocket for it. Its just that I get a lot of enjoyment out of doing stuff as cheaply as possible, I feel like i’m beating the system, if only by a tiny bit.

Agreed, chainline is critical. I’m running this on full sus’ bike with a cut down tiragra rear mech and if that is slightly misaligned its kneecaps to the bar time…

I broke up a partly worn Deore shimano cassette (just drill the pins out) to get more gearing options cheaply. Running 32×17 atm on 29er which is fine around Cannock chase, although I do edit out some of the steeper hills from my ride. I think it pays to mess about with the gearing a bit, the difference just 1 or 2 teeth on the cog is noticeable and if you can do it cheaply first then splash the cash when you find what works for you all the better.

Those pointy things in the background are a bit bugger to get up and down, they should level them off while they’re at it, make it all nice and flat. Like Norfolk.

Very poor final with a bad choice of tests for the bakers and the wrong person won but other than that I enjoyed it 😉

Don’t miss Mel & Sue at all. Thought I would but now they are gone I couldn’t be happier.

Hope Kimjoy wins, although quite like Ruby to. Rahul plays to the camera to much with his sad puppy dog act.

Yes, I am and I to have been effected by the issues in this program.

    Issue 1. Incoherent plot line.

Issue 2. Going through the motions acting.

Issue 3. Seen it before but in a different setting with different actors.

Like trademark though i’m sticking it out to the bitter end as i feel i’ve reached the point of no return which is time invested in watching it before realising  its a crock of poo and now needing closure…

Is the rear mech compatible with the 105 lever?

You’re very tidy minded, my builds always look like total chaos in comparison…

Thanks for the replies guys. Think Whinlatter & the b/p on the side of Catsbells sound like good options for me.

Honestly not to keen on content featuring ex drug dealers tatting about LA on a bike in ripped jeans (so cool…) Its FILLER!.

Get readers to submit their cycling stories/rides instead of this tosh.

Most of us want kit reviews, I can guess why you really want to drop them but if you lose readers advertising revenue will dry up anyway. Stick to the ‘buy this if you…’ line.

    Sorted.

Ps. If only it was this easy!

For the popular design here build in east business model its probably a no. Costs have already gone up and what will happen after the brexit proper doesn’t look to promising (hoping my pessimistic outlook is wrong tbh but realistically?). I think some of our current british brands may find themselves in a precarious situation through no fault of there own having to have very hard negotiations  with there suppliers. Starting up production on small scale high value product (thinking Stanton here) may work out well but can’t see anyone investing in large scale production, no business confidence with all the unknowns?

Cliffhanger. Silvester Stallone at his very best! With the bonus of wonderfully (un?)realistic climbing sequences. I’ve seen this film at least 5 times and would happily spend another afternoon sprawled oh the sofa with a family bag of crisps and a Leffe or two and watch it again. Heaven.

Well, this is dull. Again. With the exception of the Robaix stage this has been one of least interesting TDF’s for years. Nice scenery though.
