Not had a problem with Maxxis or Bontrager on tubeless. Never tried Contis as tubeless, yet. Enjoy being tubeless.

Ordinary tube patches work okay for me. I seem to have a spate of ripping tyres lately and they have been patched and work fine tubeless. If the hole is too big I use part of an old inner tube. Clean it up with some IPA and it works a treat.

I would suggest taking a look at Power Director by Cyberlink. I tried the Adobe and found it awful but PD was much better. It has not crashed on me as well which is nice. Adobe would constantly crash. I have a contour which has .mov as the output.

Another Maxxis and sealant user. Not had the need for the tubeless or TLR tyres.

Rock & Roll cable magic has always worked well for me. I do tend to replace both inner and outer when they are sticky and then a few drops of cable magic on the new inner.

I have managed to resurrect a sticky cable by flushing it through with likes of GT85. It is at this time I make a mental note to order a new inner and outer.

IPA (Iso Propanol Alcohol)is a great cleaner. Chemist will sell it to you. Good for cleaning DVD/CD as well which may be another source but probably more expensive.

After 5 surgeries I would not want to risk screwing up the surgeons good work. I would be chatting with my physio as to exactly what the best way forward is.

These cogs drive numerous brushes that scrub the chain as it is pulled through the bath. I have had the park one for many years now and can’t fault it. Not cheap agreed but over the years it just gets cheaper for me.

This looks very much like the Park cleaner but is cheaper.

Even cheaper is to take the chain off and stick it in a jam jar with some cleaner.

That does seem to be a very popular contract condition. I have it in my current and it was in previous contracts. My take on it, no legal basis, is if there is a rush on etc and they need a few extra hours then they expect you to deliver, within reason. Part of the give and take but you should have to do this every week. In return if I need to go to the dentist etc during work time then I would not expect it to be a problem.

Yep, morning at GT and then a 22K natural trail loop. Muddy foot but loved it. First big ride and I am sure he will be out again.

I rode it earlier this year for the first time. TBH my thought then were that something needed to be done or the “road” would be lost to the elements. I have not been back since so not sure to what level it has been restored. One would imagine that they will not be going back every couple of years to make good. so it will weather back in I guess over time.

What Devs said. Besides I thought you should always ride within your limits of control and expect the unexpected, especially round a bend. All I can say is that I guess it was lucky that the horse had finished its business and moved on or it could have been a lot messier. Any one remember Police Academy?

No way I would let Halfords near my forks. Could just be me but sorry my experience of Halfords mechanics is not good so there is no way I would even consider this.

Alpine Bikes in Glasgow for me. Heckler broke the pinch bolts for the second time 🙁 . So they sorted the new swing arm for me.

Riders Retreat in Morzine. One of our party managed to break a the axle in Hope hub. Tried all the shops and the best we could do was buy a new wheel or rent a bike for the rest of the week. The guys at Riders had a friend of a friend and we had the part required that night at the apartment. That is beyond the call of duty in my eyes. The apartment was top notch as well.

I hope that the guide is okay and not going to be off the bike for too long.

As has been said if it has a dent then replace it is best advice. In theory they are one hit wonders, same as motorcycle helmets. I also recall that you should look to change them after 3 years bashed or not, but not sure about that bit.

Your knees so your call on if you should where them or not. I know I do not bounce as much as I used to. I also want to be riding and not nursing a bad knee so I wear them most of the time. I have 661 race lites and they have numerous scars from years of good service.

I have never really bothered with armour simply because I thought I didn’t need it, as I stated in another thread, I came off nigh on 2 weeks ago and smashed my shoulder up badly and a few other places as well as smashing my lid up. Balls to fashion, I’m going to get some body armour.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing . Much the same here. I never used to use any protection bar the helmet. But having seen so many gashed legs/knees etc from silly offs I now wear it all the time. The minimum is shin/knee and when in Alps I go full body suit. I know that I do not “bounce” as well as I used to and I also do not mend as quick as I used to. I would much rather be riding my bike than wishing I had worn some more protection and not be nursing an injury.

It is a personal thing though so each to their own. Wearing a helmet is not up for negotiation in my mind though.

If you can’t get the beads to seat then putting a tube in is a good way to get them seated. Break one bead to remove the tube and then go for full tubless. Taking the core out of the valve can help getting the bead to seat first time as well.

I have done this on HT but never tried it on a FS as the chain length will change enough to be a problem I reckon.

+1 Very much so.. You did get a receipt when you left your bike with them didn’t you. It will be more difficult with out but I would hope that there is a record in the shop diary.

You should concentrate more on how the helmet fits your head than how it fits your camera.

Better still do not bother with the helmet and stick it to the forehead. 😆

Why not on the chin guard of a full facer?

I ran Saints for my first Morzine trip last year and they were fine. Still okay now. I did have issues with them when new. not sure if it was the brake or the shop but they spongy a couple of times. Touch wood never had an issue since.

I have had a Kyham, Rigidome XL I think it was. Great tent and went up easy enough. It stood up to the strong winds straight in off the north sea fine. We moved as it was the noise of the wind that was keeping us up at night. Tent was fine. No idea what the build quality is like these days. Now have a Vango, Oregon 600 I think. One of the poles snapped at the weekend in the wind at Fort bill when we put it up. Despite this it stayed up okay for the rest of the weekend. The Glencoe DH was cancelled due to weather so it was a bit extreme, and wet.

My advice would be look for something with a porch. Also think about where the water will run when you open the door. The Vango runs off the roof into the tent when we open it.

The tents at Decathlon look very good and quick and easy to put up but I am not sure how stable they will be in the wind. They have quite a bit of pop up tent technology in them.

Is this just a summer tent or are you going to want to use it early and late season. Summer tent can be less robust as in theory the weather should be better.
