I am sure you will have time as you get back to full strength. Welcome back to STW. Great to see you back amongst the ā€œhiveā€.

Some panels were avail with a stay clean finish as I recall so it may be this. One other thing that comes to mind is the panel will warm up as it works. Are the panels all on one string or are they split? If split do you get the same output from both strings. Best place to get this answered though is check with who ever fitted them for you. All things being equal it does seem odd.

This is great news. I can not remember such a great start on a Monday morning.

Thanks for that. Useful as we get to the time of year where chains wear a bit more.

Go tubeless if you value your life when riding at night. The Trolls throw the thorns down in your path to make you stop and fix the puncture. That is when they pounce on you, when you least expect it..

I have never broken a spoke yet but I have heard that SP are/were not as easy to get hold of as J bend spokes. So if you broke spokes you may struggle to get a replacement. The advantage as I understand is speed/ease to change a SP. But hey this could all be wrong.

If you chain was sized and fitted based on a 11-34 then fitting a 11-36 will need more chain length at the extreme big to big ratio. This, and maybe so extra growth requirements due to suspension, could have been the cause.

Nice to see SFB getting to the brow of the hill. Another couple of pedals..

If it is a crack as you believe it to be then I would not be using it. Given the likely stress applied to that area I would not feel comfortable riding with it. Can you see from the inside of the steerer? Is it a mark from when the crown race was installed?

I use a Jetboil and rate it. Very good in all conditions I have been in so far. They are not cheap though. there are coke / tin can stoves that can be made and run off meths. Never tried my self but I am sure others here have and can comment.

I think the title needs to be changed seeing as it has now been found. I get the feeling some beer tokens may be exchanged.

Another flat convert here. I used SPDā€™s for about 10 years and have now been on flats for a while and do not see my self going back. Wet muddy trails should not be an issue with proper technique and shoes.

Not sure that Aldi unit will deal with seating beads on a tubeless set up. I have not tried it but it looks like no more than a pump with no reserve. It may deal with the pressure okay but it will not have the volume.

Good that it has been recovered.

None of the tyres that I use are tubeless yet they have all gone on fine, either Bonty TLR or ghetto. Second hand/used tyres may have nicks and cuts to the carcass that will make it tricky for the seating of the bead first time round.

Pretty sure you can stay at the side of the river all the way pass the golf club into Cardona and then take the very quiet road out the back of Cardrona.

It looks like some very recent work then as I do not recall it being thinned out when I last rode it.

Shame as the hand cut trail had an appeal over other trails due to it being so tight and dark in amongst the trees.

So do you pour the petrol down the sink when youā€™re done?

    Serious question!

No. Irresponsible on an environment point and also very dangerous due to the fumes.

However I will actually ā€œneedā€ a new front wheel within the next couple of weeks (hub is truly knackered)ā€¦ so any alternatives to the ever popular Flow/Pro 2 combo to consider around the Ā£100 mark?

Is the front hub really knackered or is it a case of needing some new cartridge bearings for instance. Ā£20 for new cart bearings is much better than Ā£100 for a new wheel(based on hope hoops). That Ā£100 saved will go a long way to some coaching.

It is good to see that this is now up for a review. Hopefully from this will be some guidance for all future cases so as to avoid overly lenient sentences for those that kill and injure cyclists on the road.

We have been out in a Honda Accord Est with four bikes, riders spares and luggage. 1st time used a roof rack and 2nd a rear rack. The rear rack saved at least a tank of fuel. Yeah it is 7 ā€“ 8 hours in the car but rotate the drivers and all is cool.

Another tip is not to get fuel on the toll roads. Much like the UK motorway they are overpriced.

Also done. Given the recent E Way incident I am getting very concerned about the apparent disregard for the the value of a cyclists life. Things need to change.

For versatility then I would suggest a single wheel trailer such as the Bob or the EBC version of it. These can quite literally go any where. I have used a Bob copy to take trail building tools etc out for some trail building days. You almost forget it is there.

If you need large capacity and heavy loads and will only use it on tarmac etc then look at the 2 wheel trailers. From your description a single wheel will do you fine. I tow mine on the back of a hard tail. Not tried it on a bouncer but can not see why it wonā€™t work just as well.

No I am sure it was Winstanley Bikes that I had read the negative comments. I had been in the market for various bits that Winstanleys said they had but this nagging feeling kept me away. Based on my one and only order with them I will give them the opportunity to excel in future. Hey maybe I was just lucky but so far so good.

There are always those that get out and whinge about poor service form XYZ supplier. They feel aggrieved at the time and it drives the action to post. The trouble is that when good service is heard not as many bother to post up.

If they screw up my next order I am sure I will be back to ā€œupdateā€ my post.. šŸ˜‰

Ally still corrodes especially if you get road salt caught up round the reflector and it then stays there while you are at work etc. I would get it re-laced now given the number of spokes that have failed on it so far. One spoke snapping should not throw the wheel that much out of shape IME. Normally you lose a spoke and the wheel is still true and you just get it replaced when you get back home.
