“Though it has got something funny going on just out of shot (at each end, but one more than the other).”

    Eccentric dropout?

    And that’s just the designer…

Just put the entry in the post, it’s rude not to enter when it’s 10 min from my house. Will be my first attempt at solo so it could get interesting.

I have a ti hardtail and love it, not too convinced if there are any advantages of ti on full suss though.

The one that my be-one road bike came with is really comfortable and I spent ages trying to find another like it, it turns out they are exactly the same as the charge spoon which can be had for £20. Very comfortable and worth a punt, if it doesn;t suit you can always be sold on and you won’t lose much money.

If you can’t get hold of any shimano SLX or XT then get some BB7’s

Slot dropout scandal 29er would be a good bet for rack fitting as the rear disc calliper is out of the way, although wheel removal with gears can be a bit fiddly.

Looking good. Can you try them in a Ti456 with pikes for me and report back?

Mojo, Where are the pictures if it has arrived?

I currently have 3 in on-ones in the garage, a scandal 29er, inbred 29er ss and a ti456 and they are all pretty decent bikes and all get used, quite a lot.
Cross-stuntry is a new one on me and sound like MBUK speak, I think we do a similar style round my local trails but we call it ‘falling off a lot and riding badly extreme’ (TM). Enjoy the bike and post some pics of your local stuff, where is the nearest international airport and is it worth spending a day on a plane to get there?

Are there any decent bars there?
I went ot Libya in the late 90’s when they were still deeemed to be a terrorist state and absoulutely loved it, friendly people, amazing scenery and top grub. I would imagine Iran to be similar in many ways but with even more history, normal people more interested in day to day living than dispensing death to the west.
My top tip is to get yourself a duplicate passport if you have ever been to israel or the us or intend to in the future and don’t like being fisted.

BFOH (big fookoff hammer) should do it. Failing that a 12mm spanner normally does the trick.

    james,
I’m a fat fooker as well and my SS sintered are fine. Avoid the non sintered like a banker in a pension discussion

They are great bikes but you have to understand that they are yorkshire based and have yorkshire employees, it’s a bit of a cultural and genetic backwater, a bit like florida but with hills :D

When it turns up, go out and hammer the **** out of it, they are at their best when ridden like you really want to break them.

Let me know if you are struggling for the weekend, have a spare kiddy sized wheel I can throw in.

I keep a Maglite 3 d-cell next to the bed in case of power cuts, they are fairly heavy though an if it was to get dropped on someones head I think it might hurt them…
There are 4 people that know what happened in this incident, one of them is now an ex-alleged robber. If the bloke was acting in self defence fair dos, only problem is that people who make a living from this sort of activity will now go in a bit more heavy handed and it just ups the ante all round and can only end in tears.

Frame angles look ok to me, give it a good going over though to make sure, forks are definately for the skip though. If it was me I’d go for something other than p2s as I am not a fan of them.

Another one definately not for sale here. I like the way it rides and prefer it to my old enduro. Have to agree to them looking a bit fugly but you don’t see the bent top tube when riding them. It replaced an aging well abused steel 456 and is somehow even more forgiving of my clumsy riding style.
I think most of the marketing was done F.O.C by the reviews in the mags, that must have saved on-one a fortune.

Hope you are feeling better. If ever anything happens like this, ring the police on the spot and say you have been knocked off by someone who you think is under the influence, they’ll soon turn up. Sounds like this w anker deserves everything that will be coming his way.

this will work with your existing lever, flog the rotor on here and make most of your money back.

i had the same issue with a pair of p2s. Ask for a replacement if there are no obvious signs of damage they should replace them. If not you have a perfect weapon to own them with, even though it doesn’t sound as good as owning them with bombers

Currently have 2, inbred SS 29er and Scandal 29er which I have been out on today, great for dicking about on the local stuff and scandal worked surprisingly well on the Marin trail at Bets y Coed last time I went. Ride mine a lot, also have ti456 for more technical trails and general yobbish behaviour. I’m 5’11” tall and have no issues with them other than having to put a bit more effort into getting them round tighter corners and the scandal doesn’t seem to like braking and turning at the same time somehow.
Also had a karate monkey a couple of years ago that was a drunken ebay purchase and was far too big for me.

S8 can be had for about £20 so I’d go with that, the hope ones are nice but O ring seal on crown race can be fiddly and the wedge at inside the top cap can be a bit hard to get out sometimes.

Both ride similar, the 456 is tougher and will encourage him to be a bit lary.

Would one of the female specific frames be a better bet for this setup?
They have a shorter front triangle and usually fetch less econd hand.

    markenduro

Yes it works but you need to run the wheel at the front of the dropouts and will need to clamp the cable down before fitting the calliper to the frame, it’s a bit fiddly but do-able.

Bonty ACX are pretty decent allrounder, ACR for dry, ?kenda small block 8 fast as **** on-road and surprisingly grippy off-road unless it’s deep mud, Kenda Karma work ok at places like Bets-y-Coed but seem intent on killing me everywhere else, avoid.

No probs here, been running them for a few months now and the friction material hasn’t fell off the backplate and I don’t recall being attacked by a giant octopus or publically abused on a forum by a ginger.
