You might want to move that gate in case somebody wants to use the bench

Vice and hammer will get that off. Had a similar issue but had a steel freehub fitted by hope under warranty so not a problem any more.

I'll take last years pace car off them if they don't need it any more. The sound that made really was beyond awesome.

they look like an oven from the back and have a stupid extra door on the wrong side of the car to be sensible in this country.

Greaat bike, I love mine. The P2 craked on mine after doing the honc on it. I replaced it with a voodoo carbon cross disc fork from sideways cycles, it was the same axle-crown lenght as the p2 and has mudguard eyelets which I use. Seems to be a bit less harsh. Think the on-one may be a bit longer than the p2 so may balls the geometry up.

Bump for this, heard about it from bigben today and will keep an eye out for it.

There won't be many decent fabiavrs around at that price, especially the limited edition close out model in the picture above. I have a normal vrs and they are fast, 55+mpg and easy to park, fairly tough as well and drive like a much bigger car.

Careful with the tension on satans rims, they do crack around the spoke holes…

Tazzy, beware of the slippery slope, that's the route I went down before getting the ti29er…

Portway 1 here, pretty good and heats the whole house up when it has been going for a while (trad terrace with 2 up 2 down and kitchen/bathroom on the back).

Ti then swap the bits out as they inevitably wear out. SLX chainrings will last you a year tops in my experience, I think it stands for short life xpectancy.

I had it happen to a pro 2 last year, replaced under warranty no problems, they rebuilt the wheel for me and I had it back within a week. I think it was because the early ones were CNC'd form billet, I think the later ones are forged to prevent this happening. I also had it happen to a goldtec which was not replaced under warranty, won't buy another one of them.

She#s better than a lot fo the other manufactured crap around nowadays and at least she writes most of her own material. I think she is pretty good, in spite of being old enough to know better.

As little as possible, they are not angular contact bearings so do not really need any preload, just enough to stop the cranks moving from side to side within the bb

Not very joined up really is it given that Derby is supposed to be a cycling demonstration town. All I have seen is a few badly thought out cycle lane lines painted on roads and stupid traffic calming which actually makes it worse for cyclists as the road is narrower. I'd like to see a bit more spent on education for drivers not to turn left whilst alongside cyclists that they are in the middle of overtakling.

Cracking little car, a real future classic.

"it would be illegal to fit a tow bar to a car not homologated for it"

No it wouldn't. It would be illegal to tow with it but if you had one fitted for a tow bar mounted bike rack there would not be any issues. I have a fabia vrs which was not homologated for towing like the normal fabia, there are plenty of them about with tow bars fitted for bike racks.

On my second one as had an issue with the rear dropouts which ended up requirning a new one on warranty which was sorted out without any hassle. Just started riding it again this week after using the 29er over winter, love it and had forgotten just how much fun it is to ride.

The on-one ones are fine, I'm not quite as heavy as ton but no issues with the pair I had on my old ss.

The TDi will be a lot more relaxing to drive due to the extra torque and will use less fuel than the petrol in everyday driving, the 1.4 will feel a bit gutless. Not sure how many miles you do a year but that diesel has done nearly 30000 a year from new, might be worth having a real good luck over the service history and check for cambelt change etc. They are both fairly cheap for what was a £12k+ car new.

skoda fabia, fold back seat base up, both wheels off bikes and frame and wheels will fit in back seat area leaving boot free for other stuff, can get 2 bikes in this way. They are decent to drive and fairly reliable, same floorpan & running gear as vw polo and seat ibiza and come in 5 door or estate flavour. Good choice for first car would be either the 1.2 petrol or 1.4 tdi.

Trigger, I might be interested in your broken one, if you want shut of it let me know.
Bent the mech hanger on my steel 456 like PP (fixed with lots of TLC and a BFO hammer!!) and had an early ti456 break at the chainstay/disc mount join which was replaced under warranty with no issues.

I use 9 speed chains on mine, usually the old ones off my other bike.
30×22 sounds a bit low unless you live in the alps, I run 32×18 on my 29er and it gets a bit spinny

Have a 5 sped one on my pashley, complete with drum brakes.
It's ok but not brilliant, think I have been spoilt a bit by the alfine though

It will ride and handle fine, probably best not to pedal it though…
