Biking is the only excercise that I will do, don't like running, hate the gym and walking is for poor people who can't afford bikes and is far too slow for getting anywhere.
Good on you for getting out and don't let a couple of comments by **** put you off. I'm no lightweight and up hills are not my favourite, however I think it helps on the downs due to gravity rather liking me…

Merino all the way for me, I can't wear normal cycling jerseys for longer than 5 minutes without smelling like a taxi driver

I will be watching this experiment with keen interest as I always keep my new bearing in honey jars 2/5 full of water before I fit them into my hubs.

By the police once when there was a group of us on a pub bike ride, we all went in sepreate directions, I made a dash for it on the footpath over the fields, riding so fast that it would have made Hoy look slow (in my alcohol fuelled mind anyway). The footpath runs parallel to the road so I switched my lights off to go into stealth mode. Que a big splash as I went into the ditch by the side of the path. Two of the others got caught and taken to the nick, one was charged (ended up in the magistrates court with a £300 fine)and the other was let off with a good bollocking. We still laugh about it now.

Get one, they are great and a bargain.
You are welcome to try mine if you are in the mids, although it is set up as SS at the moment, have ran it geared with full xt, ss and an alfine. Running with a rear mech makes rear wheel removal a bit of a PITA but other than that they are brilliant.

Of course they haven't bought them from Mojo, but I doubt Mojo like being undercut by a retailer who are technically selling an inferior product, which was my point.

Better not tell madison about CRC and Merlin and….

99% of the time OE are the same product but without the fancy packaging.

They are the devils work. I have a theory that they were invented by the Romans as revenge for us helping with the demise of the Roman Empire and have been ruining pizzas ever since, that and italian car electrics, they must both be somne sort of revenge attack.

Definately go 2 cross, my first build into a 29er rim was 3 cross and had quite a few spokes snapping at the nipple end.

The company I work for have changed the way that we pay our pension to salary sacrifice (i.e. they pay all of our pension contributions and reduce our salray by the extra amount they are now paying, they save money on employers NI and we pay less NI meaing we actually take more home), the savings have offset the increases in NI but there is now even less going into the pot to pay for the people who can't be arsed to get a job to pay for their flatscreen telly.
I suspect that a lot of companies will be going down this route to avoid the increase.

could you fit 09 lowers to 07 uppers?
Yep. Got some from the states on ebay last year for £65 delivered, were second hand but you couldn't tell. God knows what happened to the stanchions though to be selling the lowers only…
Only slight issue is that the negative air valve is about 1" up inside the leg so is difficult to get at when they are built up. It is a massive improvement over the flexy POS that they were before.

No reason why a thinner chain should be weaker, it's the rivets on the edges which matter, not the width of the rollers.

Cool, looks like you may be able to squeeze a set of 29er tyres in there (just in case your ride to work goes off-road):-)
    How heavy is it?

That looks very much like you could get some decent sized tyres in there, what is clearance like on the chainstays?

£15 angle grinder from screwfix, a cutting disc and a sanding disc will do the trick, keep cooling it with a wet rag as you do it to stop the frame work hardening and then sand the area down afterwards.

    Where are you based?

Vrs here too, mostly ride from home but when have to travel I take the bike to bits and bung it inside an old quilt cover to help keep the stupid interior clean. When I ned to move more than 1 bike I have a couple of roof mounted thule591 racks which are fine.
