Full bike is a bargain at that price with alfine. Have ordered frame and fork though as have most of the required parts except a bb to build one up in the garage.

Just ordered a pompetamine frame & fork so I can tidy the garage up by putting my spare bits onto a frame…

No, they are not all crap. Reading the forums (briskoda is a pretty useful site) it seems that way but people only post when they have problems, it would be pretty boring if everybody wrote 'my car didn't break down today' type threads (unless it was an alfa forum).

I quite like mine, it is about as quick as you should  need to go on public roads and does around 55mpg no matter how I drive it, I bought it new (bit of an impulse buy) over 3 years ago and have had 27K trouble free mileage out of it. They do need decent front brake pads though to make the brakes feel like they are going to stop you.

Would love one of the clock things, where can you get them from?

That's mine. I'm 5'11" with 32" inside leg and it fits me fine, now got dmr v8s on it and sorted the angle of the bars out. The cranks are very flexy but it isn't a bike for rushing about on so you don't notice too much. Had to refit the mudguards and chainguard in an attempt to stop the bloody things rattling though. The burgundy paint is lovely in the flesh, it's a sort of glassy metallic finish and looks really deep, plus the frames are handmade in Stratford on Avon so you are supporting UK jobs if that sort of thing floats your boat.

Had one about six months now on ctw. Good for pootling about on, very heavy, slightly flexy frame and cool as ****. Get one of the special edition ones with guards, mine is a hot set model. On phone at mo so can't link to it but mine is on flickr, do a search on tube rider tags

203 front and rear here, not sure there is a great deal of difference over 180s but I had them so I used them…

sunringle eq27s have stood up to my clumsy riding pretty well so far…

I had one do exactly the same and it was replaced under warranty, great customer service from hope but a bit of a shame you have to use it.
IIRC the later ones are now forged then machined to precent this rather than machined from plain billet.

Ticross has always been a favourite of mine, the new pomp with disc mounts looks pretty good as well.

I very much doubt that retailers will absorb the cost of the increase like they absorbed the savings when it was 15%

I blame the new govt, wheel sizes are the first of many things to go up…

Not much grip at Cannock in the dry, bizarrely it seems grippier when it is wet.

3/10 for the rant, all spelt correctly, no irrational use of capitals and no use of incorrectly spelt swearing to get around the swear filter lose you points. The 3 point you do get are for the use of photographic evidence and red lines, obviously put on with a bit of anger.

Oh, and learn to ride around a small hole

HTF is mandy still around, he hasn't even been elected and they had to make him a life peer so he could serve in govt FFS. Time for the lot of them to go back under the rock they crawled out from and let someone else **** it all up for a few years.

I've done a similar thing but changed the lowers on my 2007 29er rebas for the 20mm bolt through lowers from a 2009 model. The lowers were too good a deal to miss out on and work pretty well apart form the usual reba oil leaks through the lockout.
Have the original QR lowers still, if anyone is interested make me an offer.

Looks good, I have tried the alfine and not too sure they are the answer, they feel a bit draggy compared to a mech based setup
