Get the L with mudguards if you go for the Brompton, amazing how much shite the small wheels throw up without them.

Samurai, point 3, you probably need a different blade in the bow saw, you can get different blades for dry and green wood.
I sharpened my axe with the angle Grinder with sanding disc because it’s only a cheap axe and I’m lazy, seems to have worked out ok though.

UK fat bike forum is useful resource. The Robson rims can be drilled out with 32mm holesaw, don’t drill where the rims are joined. 1×10 should be fine for flat and beach riding and I’d go with the Deere brakes as you already have them and replace when they die. You will need 170mm rear hub and 135 front, may work out cheaper to buy on-one fatty wheeler unless you can build your own wheels. They are great for exploring rides rather than long distance.

Good work qwerty, does it convert to a stretcher for when said 42 year old beginner gets it wrong on landing?

I quite like that standard c bag, you can mod the carrier frame to fit the S model by cutting the top handle off.

Looks good, I got mine sorted with discs front and rear courtesy of kinetics, really do not like rim brakes, there is no place for them nowadays on any bike.

FFS, that didn’t work for some reason, photos are here

Can recommend Ben’s workmanship, although he’ll probably run and hide if anyone approaches him again with a pile of Brompton bits and an alfine hub

I have a Fargo and use it everywhere, great for touring and general dicking about on trails for the other 50 weeks of the year.

Ben, see below. I hacked the changer up a bit more and used the grey/black non turn washers which are available as an option to turn the axle further around towards the cable stop on the frame. Works a treat but will probably go for a smaller 16t rear sprocket. It now stop and goes properly, not sure why they don’t offer proper brakes and a decent gear range as factory options

Orange S11L here (kinetics mods which I can recommend) everyone knows orange bikes are faster.

Getamap won’t work on RT tablets as it doesn’t have Silverlight.

Think quite a few of these end up modified to cure this, relay fed directly from the battery and use the original wiring to drive the relays only.

Groove angle on the cams/ramps is steeper on the road ones to move further out for the same amount of lever arm travel. The cam/ramp is the black part in the calliper body and the corresponding part with the adjusters and balls on it in your photo.

It’s a renault put together in Romania, what could possibly go wrong?

mk2 here as well, loads of tyre room in frame and fork, have had 2.2 kenda nevagals on it with plenty of space to spare and the 2.4 conti x king fits nicely and work quite well.

rig a hammock up in the van, loads more comfortable than on the floor, although make sure you have some insulation underneath the hammock.

stick some on one bingo bars on it, they are about the same shape, brake levers should fit and they will take a normal mtb shifter, could be done fairly cheaply with second hand bits I would have thought.

Get one, they are a very capable bike and I go most places on mine, good loaded up with camping kit and great unloaded for just dicking about on in the woods, mine gets the most use of all my bikes.
Anything cages are a bit fragile, salsa do a custom made frame bag for them or you can get one cheaper from wildcat (very good quality) or alpkit.

Bats for Lashes the haunted man or Dan Le Sac space between the words for me, closely followed by Ill manors by Plan B.

The lawn needs better drainage and WTF is going off with the front brake hose routing? Even with the daft/wrong foreign brake levers on the wrong side setup you should be able to make it work better than that.
    Other than that, looks good.

Hopefully the pro gun lobby will use their right to bear arms and sort the tosser out themselves, rather than deporting the waste of skin back here.

You probably shorted the live and neutral out so the fuse went first. Earth trip would only go before the fuse if you shorted the live and earth out with the blade. Bet it woke you up.

I would recommend uniroyal rainsport 2, they work well for me in that size on my car and are reasonably priced. I wouldn’t go down the cheap tyres route, tyres can make a massive difference to the cornering and stopping capability of a car, why risk it?

The trick is to drink plenty before you pass out get some dry clothes on before bedding down for the night, worked for me on the Mach & Back last year.
I use an alpkit hunka xl, alpkit wee airic and xl skyhigh 600 sleeping bag.
Only problem with kipping on top of the tarp was the fact it turned it into a bit of a slide.
Exposure diablo makes a good foot warmer if you turn it on in your sleeping bag.

Salsa fargo if you don’t mind drop bars, I love mine. The genesis adventure bike if you want flat bars would also be worth a look, loads of braze-ons, full clearance for proper 29er tyres and discs.

Salsa Fargo or singular gryphon is what you need, best of both worlds with non of the drawbacks

He’s an arse, made me sit around for the last lap of sswc last year drinking and heckling and then had to promise to buy a frame off him before I could escape…..
Apart from that he is okay, if you order stuff off of his shop it normally arrives fairly quickly.

Good luck to him. He is bowing out on top of the game and that is something which takes balls to do. He has always been entertaining to watch on track but dull as ditchwater off it, like a 2 wheeled antipodean Alonso. Fingers crossed that this opens up an opportunity to get cal crutchlow on a bike that can match his ability next season.

Whichever is safest on that road at that time – do it slowly andassume no one has seen you

TJ is right, assume that every car is a potential accident due to u-turns, opening doors etc.
You don’t ride a bike to sit in traffic.

Got to laugh, her hubby reckons she has been the victim of a witch hunt, well if it was it was fairly successful hunt.
Hopefully they will all get sent down and take the rest of them with them.

The scandal rides very similar to the inbred, I would go for the scandal though as it is lighter, the paint won’t fall off and the tapered heartbeat will give you plenty of options in future should you want to run a sustainable fork (straight steerer 29er forks are getting fairly rare now). The carbon rigid fork is fairly compliant.

I know which I’d do. If it was built in the UK and you bought it here then you would be supporting the economy, that extra £350 is going straight to the UK importer rather than supporting anyone local to you.
