random Jeremy – it is a uk shop selling it at that price. so i am pretty sure it would be coming from a uk distributor? surely they can’t be taking you order then ordering it from the US?

I will give them all a go, pretty sure the lever is clean as it has just been returned from being fixed, so reckon it might be the rebound thing.

    Many thanks

i rode around the indian himilayas on an on one 456 with pannier racks and some scwalbe marathons on it. (i also used low riser and stubby bar ends and was very comfortable)

    would recommend this set up.

I use a think tank bag that is on my chest, i either clip it onto my rucksack or use the strpas that it came with that corss brehind your back. Is good.

i foudn havign an slr int eh rucksack not much use as i didn’t stop much as i couldn’t be botehred with the faff of getting it out and putting it back, or was too slow doing it and missed the moment. so it had to be on my chest and quick access.

If i were to get into that type of work – i think i would get into Base jumping, Going up would be the easy bit. When you are done, just turn around, unclip and you can be having your sandwiches which you left in the van in 30 odd seconds!

I would second the recommendation of northern India. I cycled from Manali to Leh as part of my honeymoon. Was great

Th route itself is not too quiet so if you get into any hassle there is usually someone there to help you out with in a few hours. My mate got nasty sick and we thumbed a lift with a diesel truck over a 5000m pass to a military post to see their doctor

I would really recommend it, it was our first long distance tour. I am in aberdeen as well. If you want more information about it – maps etc welcome around, or chat about it on a bike ride.

The route goes up over the second highest pass in the world

(although there a few places with claims to this) at 5330m ish. and you can go over the highest in a day trip from Leh at the end (Rohtung la pass)

I wrote the trip up on my blog http://www.muddymess.co.uk – i did it July / August 2009 so you will have to click on the relevant months on the right. quite a lot to read to give you a flavour of the trip.

Any more info just give me a shout dnwsmith @ hotmail.com

What ever you do wish you a great journey and adventure.

    Hi Chris,

Have you been getting my emails? I have sent two to your blueyonder and one through your website. It is regarding helmet mounts.

JojoA1 – were you marshalling at 10 more at murray on the first road bit as you came out of field? Not a stalker i promise, just though i recognised you and couldn't work out where from and then i thought it might have been from pictures on here.

Tron – it has mounts for discs at the rear, that is why i am looking for a fork at the fornt with the disc mount on it.

So if the buh is 5mm shorter, i don't really fancy squeezying the QR to make them fit. Are there any 130mm hubs out there with disc mounts on them?
