  • Elite Struka Microadjust Bottle Cage review
  • I was the first one to meet the MX’ers head-on yesterday, and unlike other groups of MX’ers who we meet quite frequently on legitimate trails who are always courteous and give way when needed to us / horses / walkers, not one of this bunch (who were quite spread out) showed any sign of giving way, and I had to change lines to avoid a collision. I did think they seemed like a bunch of C U Next Tuesdays even before I found out they were throwing rocks at the walkers!

    Thats better 😀

(Probably the worst ever “bike” image, I’ll see what else I can find)

Oh, and it was a Spesh Enduro, think its about a 2009, DHX5 coil rear shock.

    Fullwood.

neallyman – that all sounds very familiar 🙄

Building Surveyor here in the Northwest. Just waved goodbye to half of our dept before Christmas 🙁

Not overun with work, but got enough to get by. Its been a hand to mouth existence for the last few years, but once you accept that position, you learn to go with the flow.

Of the four people made redundant before christmas, they have all now found work, so there are jobs out there.

Ive just read the BEP responses! What a bunch of W~~~~~S! It’s hard to believe that people hold such blinkered views. 🙄

Ah, you mean the upgrade from new price. I rang orange today to see if they could do a decent “supply only” price, but they wont supply CCDB’s as an aftermarket item, only with new bikes.

    Chris MBUK – £300?? Where?????? 😯

Lungman – would you say the CCDB is worth the cost as an upgrade over my existing DH5 air? I regret not getting the coil option from new, and I havent seen a bad review of the CCDB to date, however the £400+ cost is significant…

Im 5’11” and went for the 18″. Fits me perfectly. Certainly wouldnt have wanted to go for the 16″ as I spend as much time riding up hills as I do riding down them.

Try a demo bike? Whereabouts are you? If you are near Manchester, NorthWest Mountainbike Centre have a demo day coming up. I bought mine from there.

top right – grey text – click on the actual word “english”

Alpine 160’s have gone – ive just checked 🙁

Munqe-chick – Don’t suppose you’d be interested in selling on the CCDB or part ex’ing for a Fox DHX5 Air? Im after one for my 18″ 160?

75th!! Im surprised at that! Thought I was much lower down after 5 laps of mud and gnashng of gears 😆

    Bearings still ok too 😛

    Great pics SFB, well done.

    Bearings rolling fine thanks 😆

    Yes.

Burls – Go back and try Garburn again – it’s washing away nicely – another few heavy storms and it’ll be perfect 😀

Im doing it on my single speed. The main HTN race in the summer was great on a SS too.

Im constantly surprised just how many STW’ers live within a few miles of me here in Sale!

My wife’s company car is like that (new shape civic). At the last service the main dealer said it was probably clogged pollen filter, but unhelpfully didnt bother changing it 🙄

Either that or you have a leak somewhere?

Im in. again. Bring on the mud.

    Ed O.

Ive just moved on to flats after years with spd’s and feel more confident due to being able to bail when required, and fivetens stick like the preverbial to a blanket.

We’re with HSBC on a peach of a deal (B.R. + 0.49% tracker) always had good service from them too.

Its quite a long way from Hollingworth to Winter Hill (prob at least 10-15 miles). You can probably see it from that area though – just look for the massive aerial on top of the hill with red lights on it.

Best done as two separate rides in my opinion.

    OTP,

The fire resistance of doors is equally threatened by the skill of the joiner who installed them. Ive lost count of the number of £1000+ doorsets ive seen installed so poorly, they might aswell have installed a £50 B&Q special.

What Stoner said is spot on. If it was my house, I’d happily spend a couple of hundred pounds making sure there was a decent door between my garage and kitchen.

    Mk 5 Golf GTI

Cheers Everybody. Looking good for thursday 🙂

+1 for info please as im planning on going on Thursday, driving there & back from Manchster.

Ed Oxley’s company, Great Rock, helped me realise how bad a rider I was, and helped me understand how to improve.
    Would recommend.

snowing here in Sale (4 miles to airport). Sticking but to no great extent yet. You should be fine.

Hora – You have said that before… (Many times!!) 😉

Geetee1972 – Im pretty sure Lisa takes it all in good spirits – just like I did when she was trying to look up my shorts when I was stood on the fox 😀

Unbelievable – 3 pages of posts about female mountainbikers, and SFB hasnt even appeared once!

Simon, Simon – Are you ok?? have you locked yourself in the photo-dungeon again? 😆

yes Gary, it gave in big time!

I trashed the mech on my Zesty last week, but the hanger and carbon mech guard were unharmed 😆

    Andy Hilton +1 for Sale!

I stayed as part of a group of 9 at the Vagabond in Betws Y Coed. Relatively cheap & cheerful at about £21/night b&b
