  • SFB sorry I missed it yesterday, Im even more sorry that I missed Cutgate! The mighty deerstalker yesterday evening has left me almost immobile, I swear im not doing it again next year 😉

Back in the late 80’s my uncle was a director for a small, Indian family owned shipping company based in London. One of their 8 cargo ships was supposed to be sailing from Pourtsmouth to St Petersberg in Russia.

Apparently the cock up occured as a result of slight langauge difficulties between the Indian brokers and the Spanish crew, but after 3 days of motoring towards St Petersberg, the crew admitted that they were a 3rd of the way across the Atlantic, as they had been heading for St Petersburg in Florida!

We struggled to find a decent one, we had two which both broke after 6 months. I presumed its a bit of a con from the big manufacturers to get people to just buy new TV’s instead of messing around with dodgy boxes.

SFB, sorry, no video of Peter. I would probably of dropped the camera due to laughing too much anyway 🙂

    Not me, I was filming.

Not riding (and far from posh):

Im signed up for this year. First time for me. Apprehensive? Very!

CHL – Sorry, it was a late night build!

And thanks for the wheel Coolhandluke.

My new addition. Love it. Nice one Brant.

This was the 31st Jan. We got to about half way up the really steep bit between halfway house and the second railway tunnel, and took the common sense decision to turn back, as riding in snow is ok, but riding down bits that steep on ice is a bit of a no brainer.

This made it all worthwhile 🙂

Truvative GXP. All parts except the forks and front wheel (ebay & coolhandluke) were lifted from my old 456, which may well be for sale soon.

The summer season felt spot on today, i am a die-hard full suss fan, but rapidly becoming a hardtail convert.

    Thanks The Boatman 🙂

    Doh. Try again…..

First ride out on this today too 😀

Coolhandluke – I picked up my 2nd hand Pikes this evening, so would be interested to hear what you think of yours if you get them Pushed.

If you do have to go down the Party Wall Surveyor’s route, that might not be such a bad thing, as remember the appointed surveyors duty is to represent the Act itself, not the person who appointed them.

In times of sadness it’s important to focus on the positives:

You now qualify for reduced rate council tax.

Seriously though, chin up. Hope to see you around sometime again on the SMM evening rides. (Unless Binners changes the start time again, leaving you stood alone in the cold, dark night, with monsters, vampires and men in corsets 😉

Got my hands on a summer-season frame today, (cheers Brant / Hora)

Cant wait to get it built up 🙂 I have high expectations thanks to coolhandluke.

We all got called in to a big meeting today, timed so that each of our UK offices had the meeting at the same time….. Everybody feared the worst.

Found out that many of our offices have put everybody on redundancy notice, but thankfully our office has escaped it, for now. Still, working in construction / engineering, it’s only a matter of time unless things improve rapidly.

What did the third person do for transport?

Plane to Geneva for 2nd week when first person flew back.

I got 3 full suss bikes, 1 spare wheel, 3 suitcases / big bags, 1 tent, toolbox, enough gear for 3 people for 2 weeks, spare tyres, food, 1 passenger and 6 cases of wine in the back of my golf with the seats down.
