Have a word with the CDM co-ordinator for the site. If they fob you off, take it up with their professional body. (APS)

I'll never forget your excaliber impression at Rusland pool!

May change my name sometime, but Orange_Maketh_The_Man is stretching teniousnes (sp?) a step too far..

Simon if you get dunked and covered in pond weed you can make your own way back to Lancaster 😉

Willy / thegibbonator – in any situation like this, you need to refer to the terms of your lease / tenancy agreement.

That should spell out access rights, repairing responsibilities etc. If the lease is complex or poorly worded, your local CAB should be able to help translate legalese jargon into english.

Camping-piscine.com in bourg was great for us last year, handy if you've got a car to drives ip to adh every day, but would be a bit of a gaff if you had to take the bus every day.

You can of course finish a day with a flat out Tarmac blast down the 14km of alpine hairpins which was fun 🙂

wish I was doing it again this year!

I went to undertake some work at a bank and met the branch manager – a Mrs Anne Sillary.

    Seeya there.

Im be using the only sort of bike really suited to riding in the snow in flat south manchester – Alpine 160 🙂

Bunnyhop – don't worry – I still got it here, as I am working from home, honest…

oh ok, see my email? 1.30 – 2.00pm fine.

    xherbivorex / snowslave,

How about the inaugrual STW / south manchester massive snowball fight at midday at Jacksons Boat?

Another Sale shot, at about 7am this morning.

    Motorway sliproads not gritted…..

Sacked it off and came home 🙂

    Snowing again now.

    Nezbo – sure, no probs.

    Loddrik / VC,

Despite a bit of aggro on a few occasions and one burglary, we didnt have many other problems in Kensington.

The next year I lived in a top floor flat near the junction with Princess Ave & Upper Parliamnet St. That was rough. Out of 6 flats, only us and the other top floor tenants survived the year before giving up and moving out. Very similar experiences to Samuri – flat mate being mugged on our doorstep, all four other flats being burgled, constant vandalism, stolen car being rammed into the building…

One of the ground floor tenants lasted less than a week 🙁

Regardless, I live in Manchester now and suffice to say it has more than its fair share of problem areas.

I will be there, probably with a few others too.

2 years in Kensington whilst at uni. Unfortunately that's Kensington Liverpool not Kensington London!

Rivington today was rideable with care in a "slipping on ice" stylee as all the hardpack snow had iced over again. Not really worth the effort TBH.

Anybody been to Penmachno in the last couple of days? If the Marin Trails ok, PM cant be much different??

    Yesterday

Scaredypants – I'll take one off your hands if you'd be so kind (infact, two would be even better!)

    email in profile

    Thanks

    MMTM

NBT Im hoping to be there tmw. cheers

    JC

But, no, I've never worn out any spd pedals ever

You have obviously never used Crank Brothers pedals then 🙄

Wasn't that bike in the top pic supposed to have seized up solid after the weekend before's dunking at Elterwater?

My 160 is the A.M. version, with the DHX5 air shock and hope brakes. It weighs in at 33.8 lbs running dual ply maxix minnions, so its no xc-leightweight but yet is more than capable of "everyday / xc" riding, plus is perfect for big days out / alps etc….

Ive owned / ridden loads of bikes over the years, and this is by far and away the best allrounder for my type of riding.

I tried the five, loved it, but loved the 160 even more. Horses for courses.

    Scratchmere Scar:

    (sorry – couldn't resist)

Yeah, that was me riding up the road as you came down, so I could ride down the steep muddy bank, waiting for the others to finish faffing 🙂

I was already soaked through at that point, so couldnt get any wetter as the day progressed.

My wedding is in Aug next year, and we've saved nearly 3k by having it on a Friday instead of a Saturday. The OP's costs sound about average.

Stopadoodledoo – Well said. Anyway, im off to buy a new bike as last weeks got wet and will no doubt be ruined. This throw-away society is great!

Were you part of one of the two groups we met coming past the farm at the same time?

Si – oops – I'd forgotten that Id already agreed to lend my other bike to Mag's french friend. (another bike still oing strong after 4 years and 000's of river crossings by the way!) So I will be out on saturday afterall.

That is, if I can live with the guilt of mixing 5ml's of finish line lube in with hundreds of thousands of litres of water…… Those poor fish! (Ive checked the Environment Agency's website and there was no mention of any pollution incidents in on that watercourse so I think we have got away with it this time)

Simon I was just about to pull out of this saturday's ride after reading the comments above, as surely my forks, drivetrain, bottom bracket, headset, pivots, hubs and rear shock were going to be a seized up rusty mess, but to my amazement, upon checking, everything is absolutely fine & silky smooth……..

Alpe Du Huez to Manchester via channel tunnel including dropping one passenger off in London = 12 hours. No fuss.

Lowey – The top of Snowdon on Saturday was a relative scorcher in comaprison to Simons piccies of Sunday!

Butler & Young are worth a try, not sure if they are nationwide though.

HCD group are quite good too.

Both much better than the LA alternatives…

here is proof just incase you thought it was too ridiculous to be true

There is a glimpse of the guy at the end of this slowed down snippet caught on my handlebar shakeycam….

Chav women on friday nights in manchester city centre shouting to their squabbling boyfriend "Leave it Wayne, leave it, it's not wurff-it"….

You need to focus your atention on getting a job before you get deported – You've clearly got waaaaaay to much time on your hands!

PS – as revenge Im going to sign you up for the 2010 megavalanche as soon as it opens…

    Genius.

I think Stoners correct. My only concern would be how do you know the roof void isnt concealing any hidden nasties?

Well we didnt see anything like that so maybe next time??!!

Thanks for taking the time to point us in the right direction Terra. After you left we did a couple of laps of the winter sprinter course before heading back.
