About 10 seconds after they invented it.

"Why dont you switch off that telly and find something interesting to do."

WHY DONT YOU. (sang in a child's voice)

    Very Heavy.
15 year old Claud Butler frame.
Forks off a found, stolen,(presumed) partly stripped bike in the park.
Front wheel swapped for a pint.
    Back wheel lord knows!
Chain from a flour mill conveyor belt(thanks Nigel)
Other bits from the junk bin kept in the parents garage.
    Mudguards are pretty shiny though.

Does the job very well of a city hack about and is a good 'larf to ride about bike.
Not worth taking a picture of.

Watching football, listening to endless discussions about it by fat blokes who would die a gasping redfaced sweaty death if they ran more than five strides in their cheap Tesco arse crack revealing jeans.
    I like playing it though.

You're so right, my huntin' days are over now I've left Scotland. Still like bashing fish over the head though!

Driving my van fully packed up for a trip away.
    Good book.
    Holiday cigarettes.
Watching my Mrs jump up and down on the spot screaming (very rare event) when we have an argument then forgetting about it and having a cup of Earl Grey.
Putting up a difficult piece of wallpaper and smoothing it down seeing its spot on whilst listening to Radio 4.

    So simple so nice.

On the road, by Jack Kerouac and lots of books about merchant shipping in the war of my dads.
Led me to an extended trip of 10 years then came back and went off on a boat for 3 years.
The books didn't make me do it just had a big sign up saying you can do it.

I'm dealing with work by leaving in 2 months and going on a round the world climbing and biking trip with the mrs. Planning on self employment when I get back, not a wise idea securtiy wise but hey it will make me even happier and I went to a few friends funerals last year,if nowt else it made me determined not to stick at something I dont like for the next 20 years.

Common to us all I think unless you are an internet forum warrior i.e. a plank.

If I haven't ridden or climbed for a while I'm nervous and have to pluck up my courage.
Some days you are just off and other days your mojo is on full power. As others say ride what you like and push what you dont. It's ment to be fun after all. Just riding flat pretty trails is enough some days as long as it puts a grin on your face.

Alpkit is well worth it. Used it for winter climbing, the flashing red back unit is good for the person behind. If it stops flashing the battery ran out or the leader fell off a cliff!

Got a T4 2.5 and had no problems with it at all(touch wood)for the year and a bit I've owned it. Pleanty of poke as they say when you need it but as a rule I'm a pretty sedate driver.
Couple of mates have had theirs for a few years and all are happy.
I've got a raised three quarter size futon in the back that extends out to full size. The bikes are happy stashed underneath and on the front seat when needs be.

Didn't like school much, 6th form was good, had a blast at Uni as couldn't think of anything else to do. Never used my degree but learnt a lot and moved well out my "social class" and it really opened up the world for me.
Bumped into an old school bully in a cafe whilst doing a brick laying course at night school a few years back.
I received a very very heart felt apology for his behaviour at school as he informed me his dad was battering him and brother every night so he passed it on and then became a junkie but has since sorted himself out. Met him at college a few times after that and the fella was O.K.
Makes you realise you're own teeange angst wasn't that bad and how cool my dad was.

Depends how big you're anchor is compared to your boat. Wheelies are only cool on bikes.

Take a life jacket. One that inflates when you need it to.

Dont get pissed, its a good way to die on a small boat.

Don't throw an anchor overboard unless you are very sure it will reach the bottom.

Take a mobile in a waterproof bag and leave details with someone when you will be back.

Have a graet time. I love sea fishing and have done it for a job in the past.

But mehearty be ware, dick about too much and you can drown very very quickly.

Fish near rocks or harbour walls, known wrecks, you are more likely to catch something.

Catch fresh mackerel, fillet, roll in beaten eggs with salt and pepper, roll in oats, fry and eat with brown bread, heaven on earth.

I fish off a sea kayak these days, oh the peace and joy.

Ride about 6 miles on a SS most days bit more for shopping etc, has boosted my fitness on the bike at the weekend quite a lot.

Samuri the top picture is looking over to the Wirral isn't it?

Don't go to Birkenhead now that is a real shat hole. And yes I can judge it as i was born and raised there.

Dont get in your bag cold. If you are do a few star jumps, run on the spot, your body heat heats your bag, just dont get sweaty!

Get an old wire coathanger, cut in half, bend each length into a u- shape.

Insert ends of wire into holes on either side.

Push in, wiggle and pull out.

Clickety click out pops the radio.

Aha just read the last post actually and see its done, oh well for future use. And yes I really did ask a dodgy scally how to do it!

Go catch a film at The Fact Cinema, very chilled out nice bar/cafe. Quite a few nice restaurants very close by. The Italian Club is nice and some good chinese/noodle type places.

The iron men at Crosby, Anthony Gormley(?), is worth a look, decent beach to walk on if the sun stays out. Wander round the Albert Dock and 2nd The Baltic Fleet a proper old style boozer.

Lots of comedy clubs on at the moment.

Great all of the time for me, I ride to work mostly and go away 3 weekends out of 4 which I could not afford to do if I had to pay to stay somewhere.
If you're going to Europe buy one, or go away a lot in the UK get one. If you only go for days out then probably not worth it.Done lots and lots of car camping and lots of road trips in lots of countries wish I'd had a van for all of them now. If you decide its not for you flog it as they don't seem to loose much value its not a big problem.

Must disagree surfmat my VW Transporter has cost me £35 in maintenance in the past year, oil and filter change. Happily do 90 on the motorway which is fast enough for me, handles fine in town, the only hassle is parking but you soon get used to it. I've only got a basic conversion but fully lined and insulated for a couple of hundred quid. Never go back to a car again, and for what its worth the Post Office came up with the best insurance for me. Did consider buying a small van, glad I didn't.

Bought a VW T4 for 5 grand and converted it myself. Basically a very comfy double bed in the back with lots of storage. I use it as my car and everyday runabout. Been away virtually every weekend in the past year in the van. I was heading to Europe in it but have now bought round the world plane tickets instead.
I cook outside if nice and just inside if not. The Mrs has bought a she wee and you just get used very quickly to roughing it a bit. To be crude you can always crap in a bucket to avoid campsites and go to a swimmimg pool to get a shower. Have used a solar shower though which are good in summer.
Next step when I get back is swivel seats in front and a solar panel on the roof.

Liverpool is good for a visit, sadly I moved over from the Wirral, moving back though the riding is better over there.

Depends, is it the whole structure as in all the brickwork, do you have PVC windows, plastic drain pipes etc. If you live on Merseyside let me know I'll come round and give you a quote! ;)

Seemed to be super popular in New Zealand. Check this out for a VW Transporter. Nothing to do with me as I've got a yellow one and have no plans to sell anytime soon!

I bought a red one a couple of years ago and it was dumped in someones front garden 2 streets from mine on a Friday, they found it on a Sunday and came round to my house to tell me. Apparently I had signed for it as well. Complained to On One and got no where. The saddle is rubbish as well.
Love the frame though, still riding it today and no desire to change it.

Zulu you're not a fat monkey as well are you. No offence if you have no idea what I am talking about.

On the subject though let them kill each other and make their families pay for their jail time not us.

Ta peeps. The limit may be a £1000 but if your local bike shop says no to you sorting out the difference with cash they are a bit slow I'd say.
