barely aware of him but for the adverts on the tv. No idea of his body of work but I judge him by the company he keeps.

check him out. you might like him, nothing like gervais.

Drumlanrig if its dry ..loads of roots. Agree that AE is better than peopel give credit for. Personally think Dalbeattie is the best of the lot round there.

Bad knees so prob wear knee warmers more than most (my assos knees dont stay up though – no gripper at top :( )

Arm warmers, whip em off if too warm , roll em down if changeable. Super versatile.

He cracks me up :D (albeit I agree with XFM..he plays up to it somewhat these days)

Remember him on the gervais ‘Politics’ DVD extra and it was superb

Does anyone think Indurain was clean?

    Ooh what did Doyle say?

Massive LA sympathiser. Churning out all the ‘he’s then most tested athlete ever’ etc etc . Quite embarrassing as he seemed to be caught out a few times when asked questions.

    also ..Kimmage on R5

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01m1kqx

20 mins in , not great but interviewer clearly has no idea what he is on about and Kimmage gets the hump with him.

    I meant spark. I had a scale, now have a spark. :-)

Forgot to add – they also say 29ers suit taller riders. Mine felt odd at first – the riding position was more upright and the wheel seemed to be way out in front. Best of luck!

did 2 hour ride last night with mate on a 26 and am starting to think that I was riding quicker based on mates comments, albeit it still felt ‘sluggish’

I will give it a few more/longer rides and as I said before, was just after peoples experiences of switching.

chap I ride with has FF29 (not green) with kinesis carbon forks. Loves it and races it. Not that light though which would sem to be the main diff between the two IMO. Its a nice build though

Cheers, maybe need a few more rides.

Njee, didnt expect them to feel the same nor was I expecting miracles, its just that I had a spark that was a bullet, a scale which despite my reservations about full sus also feels ace. I have been ‘loaned’ a bike so had no control over spec and if buying would be looking for soemthing higher. I am not wet behind the ears re marketing blurb and factored in the spec of the 29 but even taking that into account was disappointed with the ‘experience’.

Will spend some more time but was expecting answers of a) you’ll get used to it dont despair or b)they all feel similar and you may just not like it.

Just after peoples opinions…thats all :D

. I am club secretary for a NW Road club. We arrange TT’s, road, cyclo cross and MTB races.

Which NW mtb races are these?

Interesting. I am club secretary for a NW Road club. We arrange TT’s, road, cyclo cross and MTB races. WE also have mid week/weekend rides for all levels of the club. Recently found that we cant get marshall’s for our events from the club (membership in excess of 150). It was put to members whether to continue to promote events and the reaction was either apathy, or a widespread objection to having any ‘duties’ as club members. A few “whats in it for me” responses and a general feeling that only the members that race should be involved in racing.

We have numerous social events which are poorly attended and the majority of members just seem to want to use the club to arrange ‘club’ rides and wear the kit.

We were told same. Supposed to be grandstand’s for £45 ticket holders but they never materialised.

We were told to complain after the event for a refund.

Apart from that I thought the events were amazing – both on and off the Olympic park.

“they’re coached by Gary Sutton” – he has said that EVERY time he sees an aussie.

“in the form of her his/life ” when clearly they’re not.

Decision was right re aussie…..replay was too short. Infringement/movement happened just before the replay BBC kept showing. Perkins coming up inside after other rider left red line, then he moved back. Perkins did well to stay up.

Hugh Porter is ruining it for me. Thought he was bad with the road stuff and hoped he would redeem himself on the track. You wonder whether he is actually watching it half the time. Get rid….
