to be honest i am perplexed by Lemond, part of me can’t see how he could be clean, so many from the era were on something. But i am sure that Armstrong would have arranged a leak if there was anything to leak.

I hear you but his palmares is amazing and has been since he was a junior. Consistently good throughout his career and would have been even better had the shooting not robbed him of some of his best years. He should have won his first tour a year earlier. His VO2max is one of the highest recorded in sport (behind some cross country skier(s)).

I do find it hard to believe any one is clean but Lemond was pre EPO and he has been so vociferous in his condemnation of dopers that you think he must know he is clean (or stupid).

Good on him. His worlds win in Chambery with kelly and fignon et al was awesome in horrible conditions. true greats

Thought the chainring had a different PCD. Cant see a normal 10 speed chain giving you the chain retention benefits when its designed to use the specific SRAM 11 chain. Thought it was an ‘all or nothing’ approach for it to work.

nice… almost like women who dress provocatively for a night out are asking to be sexually assaulted…..

    Nice leap of logic.

I think the term ‘almost like’ in this context means “its absolutely nothing like saying ….. ”

I thought Jodie Kidd was a golfer before I found out she was a model…she’d turn up at the opening of an envelope. As for model, must model gloves or sommart.

My specialized’s have lasted ages and I would buy again. My road sidi’s are an amazing fit but I could never imagine MTBing in sidi’s – just couldnt imagine them being that comfy off road and walking about (unless they are a lot more flexy than the Ergo 2’s)

As someone said “what do you want out of it”.

She wasn’t injured so no civil claim for PI.

CCTV – contrary to what someone said on here Tesco will release CCTV if requested by a solcitor.

Police will have no interest in this. What is it , driving offence, assault charge, are there witnesses ?? one person’s word against another if no CCTV.

Granted she is upset and he was an ar5ehole but thats life. Not worth the stress. Forget it, move on.

Margin Walker do you know Marcus(bendy leg) or Fletch. Big travelling Neds fans back in the day. Used to go round to Stig’s house, the origional bass player from Scorpio Rising who were an Alien Heat, for regular tea and biscuits.
PWEI are lacking Clint but saw them earlier in the year and they were O.K.

I remember Marcus. I reckon I saw Neds over 25 times. Got snowed in on their first Civic hall gig. Seeen em Leeds, Norwich, Rock City, London, Glasgow, newcastle – used to hitch everywhere. :-)

Helped scorpio rising load their van at manchester when they supported Senseless things.

    good times…

slept rough after gigs sooooo many times. Remembrer watchin CUD at Manchester international, then taxi’d to Boardwalk to watch Swervedriver who only came on at 11.15. Another class act. saw therapy in there with about 200 watching.

Biffy Clyro are done now I feel. Followed em from the start but feel they are just hammering the start stop, weird time signature thing to death….and the new song is just a meh. Talented bunch mind.

First gig ever was Wonderstuff with Neds supporting at Preston when I was 16. Saw NEDS all over the place. Slept in Glasow to see em at the barrowlands and faith No More were on the next night with L7 supporting.

    Some others :
doughboys (supported MC4 loads of times)
    Captain America
    Scorpio Rising
    the sundays
    Drive (No girls)
    Levellers 5
    Five thirty

Early boo radleys were good. The core of MC4, Senseless things, Neds , Kingmaker and stuffies were excellent for about 2 years. New FADS underrrated.

we stayed in Teguise (in middle, not costa)last Feb. One of our lads was blown off his bike on a straight road. Been to Fuerta as well which also was windy ….as Njee says- soul destroying at times.Lots of long straight roads. We are avoiding it this year and going to spain in March, even if the weather isnt as good.

I do exercises to gain flexibilty but the joint is massive and still sore.don’t get me wrong, still cycling but get cramp in hand/finger and just expect to recover with time. Got a hand exerciser as well which has helped.

Dislocated left index finger 3 months ago riding (broke metacarpal as well). Finger knuckle still massive, about 50% bend and weaker. Been told 12 months for full functionality. Bit of a pisser trying to 1 finger brake.

“learn to ride or sit at the back”
Problem is though, OP states that he crashes into the back of people too, and the back is where the speed concertinas more with a little bit of slowing up front.

It’s a tough one. Up front on the outside perhaps, (does he have a habit of panicing and slamming on the brakes?) though of course the consequence’s of causing a crash there are all the worse.

sorry- didnt read it properly. Still needs a word. I wouldnt ride with him if he had caused more than one crash and doesnt seem to be learning from his mistakes. Is he talking …is that why he isnt concentrating.

I remeber my first chain gang when 17 – needed ear plugs i was shouted at that much. Soon learnt though. :D

Margin Walker – when you say the knee isn’t ‘right’, what do you mean? Is is a pain thing or do you just feel it isn’t the same due to a loss of strength?

Just meant it can feel fine but know that when knee is loaded and bent I am guaranteed sharp pain that will literally floor me. If I avoid doing certain things then no issues…but I still know the knee isnt right.

Knee isnt in pain and only pain I get is if I use big gears or ride all day. Training camps make my knees ache. If I do a hilly MTB ride(low cadence powerclimbs) my knees ache for a few hours afterwards which I can deal with. But if I didnt ride a bike for 2 days they wouldnt ache. However, I get a pain in the knee like a hot knitting needle in certain positions. I wouldnt be confident coming down stairs carrying something in both hands. I wouldnt put all my weight through my right knee in a bent position. Stupidly went snowboarding for a week and couldnt finish the week my knees were so sore/swollen. 1 week later ok again.I just try and manage what I do. Used to play lots of squash (LOTS) and thats how I did 1st injury. Full weight on one leg in bent position palying a shot. Would nevere attempt to pay again. Still , 3 hours on road bike spinnning gears on winter runs and no issues at all.

Similar to scamper above really. A long rocky descent kills me. Switched to full suss in and attempt to allow me to stay seated longer and not use my knees as suspension.

Had both knees done. Right knee 8 years ago. Left knee 2 years ago. Back racing now (Road /MTB). Took it easy coming back and made sure i had a good base before strength work. Had to have a full season out. Left leg still isnt as strong as right even now and was visibly smaller for months after.

Knees are ‘not right’ and even coming down stairs am still careful. Have accepted that they will never be right and simply try and build as much muscle around knee’s as possible. Hard races or long sessions make my knees hurt. Still take ibuprofen and diclofenac to try and sort swelling.

Its now causing sharp pains, constant soreness, and an inability to press with any decent strength on the pedals. Walking hurts, the knee aches and in short i’ve had enough of it.

That was exactly what I had and couldnt even stand on one leg. It was the sharp pain in certain positions and my knee would feel like it would ‘collapse’.

I wouldnt despair just yet as I have returned racing and have just accepted that it will take a while to get back to where I was.
