If u have reg then do a MIDIS search and contact his insurance company direct. If you dont have his reg then you are stuffed (unless witness or CCTV have it)

If the damage is less than your excess then dont bother contacting your insurers?

It will be on BC tomorrow. Search BC for previous race reports as series been running for 3 years now.

Laid back feel and good mix of riders.

this is often quickest way for series updates

Cashpoint cripples. People in massive cars that dont want them scratched/dinged, yet wont walk more than 10 yards to wherever they are going. If they straddle a bay they are more likely to get it keyed/damaged than if they just parked it properly. My mate makes a point of keying such cars out of principle.

Drivers are just becomig increasingly more selfish.

I do agree that young females in mini’s do seem to drive aggressively and often whilst texting/checking phone.

May have an Orbea Alma Alu 29er for sale (frame only) if you’re interested. I can get measurements later if you’re interested. I am 5’10 and it fits fine – seems to be loads of clearance as no brake bridge.

That bike is mint ball. Too cheap IMO. Super Record 11, 2 years (light) use by the looks of it….top wheels. Just seems cheap. Not sure the Bianchi is much different yet double the price (I know its newer). If there’s one frame that would hold its value it’d be a colnago-especially one that hasnt got a minging paintjob.

    V V V nice bike……just seems tooooo cheap.

they had a repuation for Death Race 2000 racing in the local crit/ RR series IIRC especially prominent at the carbon graveyard

carbon graveyard (Preston!!) – LOL !! Horwich do put on a fantatsic summer crit where the whole town shuts down and there’s running races to the pike and youth races.

    Hey Papa Laz,

not cliquey at all. Thanks Sefton and Junky. Feature on us in Cycling Weekly this week. 200 members. I race cross, road and MTB along with other members (kingkongsfinger). Know a few on here now as I arrange some MTB midweek madness rounds (dates to be released this week). We train with Horwich CC lads who are now also involved with midweek madness.

Our Sunday run is a roaring sucess and caters for all abilities. There’s a seperate social side to the club as a result of this success. Riders dont get dropped and if too many turn up then the ride splits.Loads of info on our web page and facebook.

Ignore the cliche of ‘cliqueyness'(is that a word??). Pop along, if you dont like then so be it. Who knows, may find it a blast round the excellent roads we have here. If its too slwo there are some ‘quicker’ groups we can introduce you to.

Pop along, see what ya think.

Hey Crazy Legs….we all know she was a knob off the bike but on it she was different class. And you’re right, she’d destroy 99.9% on here (on road, cross or MTB)

THE most retarded comment ever on stw!

Internet newbie in ‘not everyone agrees with him on the internet’ shock!

watch her 2008 worlds win ……..piss take. She was super aggressive throughout her career, have you ever seen her??

    Margin-Walker

Not sure why she has quit so young. Rumours abound that she was a nightmare to work/ride with. Never seemed to be able to get a team and always moaning towards end of her career.

That said she was an awesome all rounder and her worlds win in 2008 was an AMAZING race. Worlds / olympic double also ridic.

Her commonwealth games win (about a mile from my house) where she crashed in last 2 miles, got back on and did em all in sprint was class.

Not sure off road rocky descents with broken fingers are gonna help in the long term. :(

I did it last year. Was 7 weeks before I could ride on road, about 12 weeks before I could ride off road without a lot of pain.

Got one in November. 500. love it.

I always wet my fingers and rub it under the strap before I start riding after I have fitted my chest strap.

No, road shoes won’t take a mtb cleat, or at least the decent ones wont. Why would they? MTB pedals belong on the mtb, not on the road (unless you like getting off and pushing up hills)

    Specialized ones do.

as Njee said- only the cheap ones.

If you do loads of road riding you will notice a difference in that the cleat platform (Look in my case) just feels so much bigger. As the cleat wears it doesnt really nmake a difference. The movement in a worn MTB spd cleat seems significantly worse. Also, the stiffest specialized MTB shoes are still not as stiff as top road shoes (my specilaized road shoes are stiffer and my sidi’s are ridiculously stiff)

Personally I would use spd’s if just commuting under 10 miles but if doing long road rides then (IMO) proper road shoes/pedals definitely feel more stable/efficient.

Cant stand him. He thought he was the shizz and wasnt.

I read his book, exactly what i expected but disliked him even more after I read it. Sets himself up as the party going maverick then expects us to feel sorry for him as the book turns all serious after his arrest.

Cheeky b’stard even complains in his book about Ullrich drafting at the world TT champs when Millar was EPO’d up to the max.The book isnt even that intersting if you have read other books on doping. As a biog its just boring.

Disconcertingly vague when mentioning his doping.

    Meh

I started a thread about this a month ago. Basically decided that I dont ride in enough new places to warrant the navigation (maybe twice a year) so plumped for the 500 a month ago.

In comnparison to the brick that is the 800 I am glad I went for the 500 with HR / cadence. has a lot of features anyway and I just dont go exploring.

Easy….riverdance tickets in Nottingham from my sister when I was 25 and living in Colchester and into hardcore/punk/Indie. a 4 hour round trip to watch a 2nd rate Flately….I just asked whether I had my mums present by mistake and when she said no I politely informed her I would not be going to that and gave them straight back.

The responses on this thread are almost as moronic as the sensationalist responses you get on Road CC.

People going on about jury’s and judicial system after skim reading some badly reported piece on the BBC/Road CC website.

Our judicial/jury system is revered all over the world and works. Do you not think the judge will have given guidance to the jury, focus on the facts presented and distance yourself from the emotion.

I used to work at a ‘bistro’ in Bolton when I was a student. Seemed respectable but turns out local ‘hards’ used to frequent alng with the men that ‘ran’ the local doormen (before it was regulated).

(someone turned up with a double barrel one night when I wasnt working at 3am when it had shut and loosed off a couople of rounds whilst staff still there)

One night I was cleaning up at 2.30am and some fella’s turned up. Club was snow empty and basically what proceeded was an organised fist fight between our new bouncer and one of this group, with the dancefloor as a makeshift ring. Was told in no uncertain terms, to keep out of the way “it’ll be over soon” – I was 17 and shit miself.

worked at a bar at uni where two girls thought it would be fun to come to work off their tiny minds on acid. one ended up crying in a ball on the floor. Other f’ked off and we never saw her again.

worked in a restaurant that employed some girl that wasn’t very bright. We ran out of creuset’s and turns out she had been binning them rather than washing them because it was ‘too hard’ to clean them. £££’s

Similar to one above- worked in an insurance company where some chap seconded from another company was simply putting cheques in a box as he did not know what he was doing. B’shitted his way through for 6 months , disappeared leaving a world of 5hit behind him (and about £600,00 worth of cheques.

Last one, went into work on a saturday to pick something up (I had office keys) only to catch my boss(female) shagging someone else from the office. 1pm on a sat in an air conditioned office. The mind boggles …..nice tits though :D

Just meant that it didn’t seem widespread at the time Lemond was riding. Felt it was around the time Indurain started to struggle in 1994 onwards (which incidentally was when lemond retired). All sorts of riders came to the fore. Fignon mentions it also at the end of his career (1992)when domestiques were ripping th peleton to bits on EPO.

Festina was 98 and EPO found. Riis won in 98 but joined Telekom in 96 so my gues was that EPO wasnt really used when Lemond won in 89 and certainly not when he won in 86 … I could be wrong :-)
