I know it probably doesn't help but be grateful you don't live in Belgum & are a belgacom client.
You were quoting days as waiting time. try the same with weeks (or months!)
A new colleague started in my dept in December (another foreigner). He is still waiting for connection…..

I worked for Rover back in 1990 when it was launched and had never realised it was called the RSP…

I was fortunate enough to work on the introduction of the fuel injected version which came out a couple of years later. Even better was that my own modified injected version was a convenient base for calibration of the engine management system for the Cooper S version.
That was a great car. I sold it to get a Rover 114gta. Stupid stupid stupid

Had one bulb blow on my car driving back from Austria. Then half hour later the other one went. (this was in the small hours). Fog lights alone was not enough!

Had to buy a pair of bulbs at €17 a piece from a filling station & fit them under the forecourt lighting with the bike multi-tool I keep in the car…

If the OP actually ever gets in contact with the seller – Is this going to end up with the seller saying he had also never removed the forks from the frame & also bought it is as an 2nd-hand assembly?

Indeed sad news. As well as top rider he was also Italian coach & always seemed to select & motivate the right guys for great results in the World Road Champs.
They mentioned it over here during the cyclocross TV coverage yesterday. Was the navigator in a rally car that crashed…
    RIP Franco

I have a set of the skinny ones for when I'm riding road events on my mountainbike.
Never punctured nor run out of grip so far.
Need a bigger chainring really though for sitting on the back of the road bike groups…

Be grateful you're in the world cup :(
Not all countries are so fortunate.

Personally I think you have to let the other players or someone who is in that 'clique' decide. These boys live in their own world that is so far detached from the rest of us we're not in a position to understand the effects of Terrys actions.
The most scarey thought is that he might have more respect from his peers after this indiscretion…

My TT (a Tacx) has a specific skewer to match the sockets in the support frame….

    It doesn't work with a stock dura-ace.
Other than the basic shape being different it seems to function in exactly the same way.

Roma isn't so bad just takes some getting used to.
I work there quite a lot so it's normal now.

The guys from Roma say you the driving in the South is much worse..
(traffic lights are almost respected in Roma) :-)

My mrs parked her cinqecento in the motorbike parking section in the parking on the Stratford on Avon gyratory…
She thought it was a very tight entrance! (that'll be because it's only for motorbikes) :-)

    Rohloff.de

This is quite an interesting read…

Having read the Rohloff claims, I gather the drag is present in the freewheel but not when being pedalled.
I guess the test for that is remove the chain & spin the wheel by hand?

I also read that the 14 speeds offer the same equivalent range as a 3×9 derrie set-up but that is clearly with bigger steps between gears..

I guess trying one is indeed the best suggestion.

I was having the same thoughts. Mud season will soon start when everything defrosts…

There is some great tech info on the rohloff website.

Spread of gears seems good & tranmissional losses seem also approx equal to derailleur.
I don't think there is any need (or benefit) for the twin up front.

I was contemplating using an old frame I have lying around here for a build using a eccentric BB.

    So to re-cap.
He sent you less money than you were wanting via IBAN.
He has acknowledged this via email & agreed to send you the missing 50GBP via paypal which he has not yet done.
Now he is ignoring your emails.

    Is that all correct?

As a side note, as an expat I am used to making €>GBP IBAN payments & would find it hard to calculate how to be [u}exactly[/u] 50GBP short on a transfer…

bit OT – but I stayed in a hotel in Köln this week that had a huge wallpaper poster of Zoolander behind the reception.

    oh god oh god.
I am embarassed to stay I was wrong. I bothered to look it up instead of using my evidently hopeless memory. I was thinking SZ80….
SZ90 is assymetrical pattern hence it can be mounted anywhere on the vehicle!
The tyres should though remain in pairs on the axles though.

Sounds like your problem is no more.

By the way – I also had a Puma. The wheels are soft as hell. I wrecked 2 on potholes. I drive a lot of kms and have never had this happen on any other wheel.

IIRC the Honda NSX used to have 4 different tyres on it as standard… go figure

Correct – assymetrical directional & different size front to rear axle! 4 unique tyres on 1 car. Doh!

    Marge

    TZ200 is a non-directional assymetrical pattern

SZ90 is directional & does have arrrows.

You of course should have 1 pair of same pattern on front axle & other pair on rear axle.
I hope that you have the SZ90 tyres mounted in different directions then it is no problem. (if they are both mounted in same direction one will need swapping)

Tennis racket handle wrap (or medical cloth tape) but it gets sh*tty quickly…

Washout is understeer to the point of total directional input?

In really muddy conditions I think understeer is not so uncommon though on dry(ish) conditions I only really can think of experiencing it with an underinflated front tire.

In the UK it must be equal or higher than the highest prescribed speed on a British road… [70mph ]

    Construction & use Regs #30…

Under Euro directive which is not applied in the UK you would indeed need a tyre with a speed not lower than the original equipment (with the exception of winter tyres)

    What's the problem? (i'm a tyre engineer)

    I nearly beat that one.
I bought some brakes from someone on here not so long ago & finally got round to building the bike they were destined for up at the weekend.
As I live on the continent I'm used to having my brakes the 'wrong' way round now (rear on the right), so the first thing I did was swap the hose connections over, ruining what felt like perfectly bled brakes.

As I began to fit the rear brake to the bike I realised that they were the British way round!
The original owner must have preferred his brakes continental style so I never needed to change them over in the first place.
Fortunately they bled easily enough (thanks Shimano) but didn't stop me feeling a bit of of kn0b…

    I had a V50 2.0D & thought it was fantastic.
Did a lot of KM's (170K or so) driven far too enthusiastically & never missed a bit.
It did need 2 headlamp bulbs during this time so can't say it was completely fault free :D
Inside it is not huge but was enough for a family with 2 kids. (towbar for the bikes).
It is unbelievable to consider that it's a Ford Focus underneath. Drives just as well but the comfort & noise is much better.

It was my company car so was treated like one (badly). I've just bought a C30 privately so that speaks for itself about customer satisfaction.

    Haven't driven a V70 for many KM's so can't make a comparison….

buy 3 or 4 chains, and rotate them, or make sure you change the chain every 3 months, and youll quadruple the life of the casette.

ie: new chain and casette every, say year.
or, new casette every 3 years, new chain every 3 or 4 months

So does that suggest that a worn chain wears a cassette faster or am I misunderstanding the advice?

Or is the advice to have 3 chains & use a different one each week (or so depending on ride frequency) to balance the wear across all 3?

It's amazing that in Italy, pizza is the fast food…

It's cheap, tasty, quick & not unhealthy.
Dominos / Pizza Hut turn it into an expensive, chewy, fat soaked slab. The McDonalds of pizza.

Are ingredients cheaper in Italy? I always thought there must be an opportunity with some pizza making skill to replicate the Italian approach…

The municipal camping up the rather steep hill close to the church is very good. Really friendly & a good price.
The bonus is also that you can get into town easily without suffering the summer queues [if you go in summer :-)]

Then I got stuck in a traffic jam.
We had about 20 mins from arriving at the hospital till the birth.
