Don’t get into a conversation with an American about circuit boards they use an entirely different naming convention (well not quite but still can cause a lot of confusion) :-)

maplins N49FX for braid, N11BY for a cheapo iron, you can also get a bit of solder there too.

Use solder wick… put the wick on the pad then apply the iron tip, do not leave the iron on any longer than is needed to pull the liquid solder away otherwise you’ll delaminate the pad from the board. The hole needs to be clear of solder then insert the new component. apply the iron to the leg and pad at the base and feed in the solder (most solders are fluxed these days), again as soon as the solder takes to both remove the iron. snip the excess legs and away you go. REMEBER too much heat is bad!!!!!.

The diameter is 10! so the max the chord can be is 10 ie the centre line. from the helpful picture above looking at the middle drawing if you imagine that the outer edge is always the same diameter but the inner varies and the chord also varies so basically i can work out where the chord is on the circle by measurement (say 8 ) so i know its not on the centre line i can also measure the distance from where the chord intersects the outer circle and the inner circle but this is not the true distance as measured form the centre of the circle between the two circles. i hope that makes sense….

Ah ha a response!, basically the outer ring is fixed at 10 and the inner ring is unknown the chord can vary in size from 10 (obviously the center)to effectively zero (the edge of the circle) so knowing the length of the chord tells me where it is on the outer circle. Now if i measure the inner circle on the same chord it will give me the width of the anulus at that point but will be an angular measurement and not the true distance if measured as two concentric circles if that make sense?? am i way off in what is needed to calculate it? ie do i need to know the inner diameter? ta.

I keep ours off as much as possible as my wife insists on having the bedroom windows open at night and the bedroom doors open so all the heat has an easy escape….. We have underfloor heating which only I know how to use so I have that off as well… :D

The pool is pretty good if a bit long in the tooth and good for wearing the kids out. The site is OK and the best haven site I’ve been too, beach there is not the best and definitely there are better along the coast, if you need a workout then hire a bike, if you saw Guy Martin last night then you’ll see what they are like to pedal!!! Loads to see and do off site so don’t feel like you have to be there!

Mine are 10 and 8 and I STILL dont get good sleep every night!. Its as above really, at your stage its very hard and you will often feel sidelined. Get involved at every opportunity and get involved in the local toddler groups, they help a lot and you will see that your issues are nothing new!. Its gets progressively easier and you will end up with a system that allows some normality to return. Compromise and understanding each other is essential and you’ll be fine. The sleep deprivation is by far the worst thing as your judgement can go out of the window and you can feel on the edge of sanity. IT GETS BETTER HONESTLY! :D

We always find them miles cheaper as a family of four and the kids love them as they tend to be in great locations where they can run wild. having said that i stayed at black sail with a mate once on a 5 day walk and it cost a fortune…. (toooo many beers)

I thought the pencil was on the chunky side to be honest, you would need a non standard pencils sharpener to continue using it. I heard it was an EU law passed a couple of years ago on pencil sizing and sharpeners and guess what:
biggest supplier of oversized pencils? FRANCE!
biggest supplier of oversized sharpeners? GERMANY!
    You couldn’t make it up….

I wouldn’t fancy doing 800 in one sitting!. Are these repeat tests or new? With that number if they are new then I’d be tempted to contract it out then maintain it after that!

I don’t think we will be doing more than a bit of splashing about so I’m not too bothered about the temperature and I don’t want to put them off!!

Simple, they have a jig that can put the car on its side and then it will fit through a double door/ corridor. But I’m guessing you knew that really.

Congrats fella, don’t stress about money, having kids will mean you will be broke for the foreseeable anyway! don’t get sucked into the industry that is baby stuff, we bought loads off fleabag and kept the costs down. I think we probably still have stuff so if you are anywhere near Chester give me a shout and I’ll have a look, I’d rather give it to someone who actually needs it rather than some git of a reseller.

I remember a lady in B+Q asking me where the light bulbs were in the Chester branch and i said yeah they are down the far end pointing down the central isle. I was just turning round and she practically screamed “how dare you walk off I want you to walk be directly to them” its a fair walk and i said sorry but ive got to go, she replied “right wheres the manager lets see what he has to say”. I said to her sorry i dont know where he is I don’t work here… Now to be fair i had a top on the did have a logo on it but not a B&Q one. some people are nuts though..

My kids school must be in some sort of parallel universe, we just got 15 balance bikes for reception kids, they all get reflective arm bands. they are taught to ride and have a bike-ablility day. they have a dedicated bike path through school to the bike shed and are actively encouraged to cycle!. It’s a state school in the countryside but does have fairly busy roads at school times. My kids are on their bikes a lot and we ride into the forest regularly (7 and 9 years olds), yes they do play computer games but i make sure they spend outside too!

Ive got a small graco gravity feed HVLP which works really well i think the nozzle is 1.4 and it works well with two pack epoxy paint etc or you could go with an airbrush, i use an iwata for smaller stuff. neither are massively expensive.

That reminds me of someone asking my wife if we were having any more kids her response was “nah i had a hysterectomy last week…” 8O I think I was more shocked by her words but she is pretty matter of the fact with such things. ( oh and yes i did know about it…)

I know roadies that really rate him, I’m guessing that you get better service if they know you. In my experience it seems to be dependent on how much you spend and what sort of mood they are in (I can remember going in the late 80’s an getting some xlite ti canti bolts!)

Among many things is the quooker…. when we had a new kitchen we splashed out on one and it really is great, however she uses it to fill the sink and empties the cylinder EVERY TIME i want a brew.. we don’t have a kettle and from empty they take a while. she knows this and simply doesn’t care…. (I must get some sort of first world problem prize for this…)
