GW, you may say that but my old bora and lupo were a right pain, i just got a cheap zafira and its (up to now just the job), its also much cheaper to own than the bora…. and miles bigger than the lupo!

AB, this happend a while ago so i dont remember all the detail but what they said was that the pumps start to break up and metal gets into the fuel system and basically screws it up by damaging the injection system. thats about as much as I remember, the lads at the garage are generally pretty good and so I had no reason to not trust them (hey said flog it!). cheers

As i said, i was told by my garage that this is one of those “known issues” but i never persued it, I doubt that a diagnostic would help but they may admit that there is an issue (unlikeley), your other option would be to find a ford owners forum and they will definely be able to help you.

Had exactly the same problem with the same type of mondeo and we found out that it was generic problem with the fuel pumps on the which start to break up and bugger up the injectors, we got shut cos it was very expensive to fix, now in fairness I wouldn’t say that thats for definite but you’d be best off taking it to ford as I think they may be aware of this problem. sorry to be of no more help

I lived in tattenhall and now in kelsall and both are about 10mins from chester, the advantage is the village stuff with very easy access to the city. I really liked tattenhall but its proper expensive for houses, kelsall was cheaper but not as “exclusive” BUT you can ride delamere and primrose within minutes so if you want a quick ride out you dont need to plan. getting to llandegla, marin , penmachno, snowdonia etc is easy as you like as is the peaks (relatively) and onto the M6 north!. I love it here as its a good compromise of nice countryside but city access and amenities, bottom line is IMO live in Chester/Cheshire and it’ll cost you live in wales and it wont (well not as much). and they both give good access to to great riding (see delamere mondaynight ride)…..

Problem is you get two normal keys a black plastic “wallet key” and the key number tag which a VW garage will use to re-cut an expensive key. I’m pretty sure VW will get you a key from the reg (you’ll need pukka id etc)but as they have said it will cost ya!

Unless your house is massive, don’t bother, you become “tuned” into any meaningful sound otherwise you’ll never sit down, got two young un’s and one is three months old and we learned many lessons from our first to just let them get on with it. the youngest sleeps from 7.30pm to 7ish in the morning generally, and is happy as you like. Having said all of this if its your first then do what you think is right and learn your lessons from experience, its more fun…..
