If you cant find a suit at cheshire oaks then i’d give up! the new M&S there has loads as do all the other suit places (unsuprisingly). sizing can be a pain but the range is huge and generally the prices are very good. There are some shoe places and also some designer stores if you fancy…

got one a couple of months back from parking eye and have not responded to the letters, they appear to have given up. check out what they say on bbc watchdog site and it essentially says ignore them!. you’ve not broken the law and at worst in breach of contract which they would have to prove and the contract is with the driver not the keeper….so they have to prove that too!, so they wont bother…

IME it may well be you as the view appears to be that you shouldn’t pull out even if a car is indicating and appears to be slowing down, the argument being that the driver may not have cancelled a previous indication and as for the taxi well its a legit move to overtake and he could argue that the car in front was not indicating…

thanks, I wasn’ sure if the OD on the 5mm was the same as the 6mm olive although i suspect that the ID of the hose is smaller so the barb on the fittings wont fit. no worries i’ll just get an new lever and caliper connector and bring it up to spec. just cant work out why hope no longer supply the 6mm stuff cant be too expensive to keep?!.

Fair point fella, I personally park at barnbrige gates in the daytime as it free and is pretty central to the trails (being on the switchback). mind you i can ride there so dont have those problems (even if i’m now giving slack dads a bad name…).

Just bought a dvd player and dab radio, was as usual a weird experience in that they were very helpful but not what i would call friendly. more kind of clinical but sorted me with what i asked for ie cheap stuff that works, i’ve always used them where i can and like that you are likely to end up with what you need rather that what you think you need.

You would have thought, but the sceptics would say “well they would say that”. so i need to have something that cant really be argued against….

the worst i did was trapping my finger in a machine (very painful) then a nice big blood blister under the nail (very very painful) and then I had the bright idea of using a vry sharp 1mm drill to put a hole in the nail and relieve the pressure (and pain). however when i passed though the nail the drill (due to the flutes) continued down and into flesh. Now that was exquisite…….

Lead free solder does melt at a higher temp but not massively so you iron is almost certainly not up to it especially if the tab is large or connected to a power or ground plane. this just heat sinks it and your iron cant keep up!. When lead free came in it caused and is still causing massive problems even for the big electronic boys so you are not alone. be careful though cos using a more powerful iron can cause problems with localised heating of the pcb. Use desolder wick as it will remove the solder as soon as it melts and reduces the possibility of damage. As for the iron you linked…..err maybe not for a lot of use but for the price maybe worth a try.

In fairness this is in lieu of a payrise essentially to protect the company against a hike in fixed costs when things could still be a bit ropey……

RS, you aint wrong… personally I don't really care as im pretty such the sums involved will be bugger all, I tried this line but bizarrely a lot of shop floor seem to think we lie about our profitability, which is strange as we are quite open about the companies general situation.

Sorry should have said profit, (operating). I was just kind of suprised that they were offering to give people a bit of cash and they pretty much all kicked off that the managers would get more.?!

we hire ours from our electrical supplier (newey and eyre) for our plating line (70mm cable) and is far easier than soldering, having said that for the odd cable connection we can solder (does help that we have big solder baths on site. to do it i normally flux the cable then tin the cable. put lug into a vice and fill with solder using a blow torch push in the tinned wire. The advantage we have found is the cable is less affected by corrosion at the join and the connection is more reliable. But for what you are doing just prep what you can then hire a hydraulic crimper, they are far better than the cheaper single point ones you get

I had one for about 6 years, the V5 with sports and winterpack, I really liked it in lots of ways but i thought the 150bhp version was not quick but pulled well, the bigger wheels and stiffer suspension made a bit of a hard ride and it was a bit thirsty. it also cost a lot when repairing any engine parts due to the relative rarity of the engine. The boot was big but the opening was limited (compared to a hatch). The build quality was spot on and excluding some engine problems and some suspension bushes it was OK for reliability. I only got shut beacause it was a bugger to get two kids in the back. The V5 was also good because it was good at accelerating at relatively high speeds (kept corsas etc at bay!)

I saw a family (two adults and two kids walking across the lake (or mere?)yesterday in delamere!. I actually could not belive my eyes! (thought it was hypothermia setting in.. There were, as i saw, many footprints going across… There would have been no way of getting to them if it had gone pear shaped!. And I thought I was stupid….(well I was riding on my own)!.

my daughter is up for hers next week, to be honest i treat it as just another one in the list she has had already, not sure of its importance as i've not seen much in the media but still i take the veiw that i would rather not risk it…as for the injection itself we just promise a tube of smarties and jobs a good un!

    marcus7

Well yes I do, we use auto cad at work and a few more, but i don't really like them because of the "quirky" nature of some..(our main CAM stuff takes years to learn!). most of my requirements dont need much more than basic drawing capability…

I change car because it was almost impossible to put em both in from one side especially when they were smaller so i can see where the OP comes from, but like I said I bought something more practical partly for this reason.

Gotta say that the OP line of "issues with leaving him" says it all to me, Me an her indoors can't wait to get away from ours! well maybe not, although i'll be riding at delamere tonight while the wife is at work (inlaws babysit BTW) Both ours were breast fed and went onto formula after about 4 months, never felt guilty as life is too short and there is so much more to be getting on with.

house opposite me has just gone up for sale in kelsall, its a stones throw from delamere easy reach of llandegla, penmachno, marin, cannock macc forest and good access to snowdonia and the peaks and lakes!. village has three pubs and shops but is nicely "country". still i like it here so am biased!

crikey i must have missed all the great things handed out now i've got kids! I got two weeks off extra (which i took as holidays as the £100 odd quid per week you get doesn't pay the mortgage). I get sod all benefits from my employer but then I work in the private sector and they generally dont give a bugger. they love calling me out when ever and don't really worry about my personal life. I do work around it because it was my choice, still let the good times roll…..

if its under the nail then i would (is very painful if you dont and nail will prob fall off anyway)did it at work recently using a small drill when it went through I can only describe the pain as extreme….If its just a blood blister under the skin then i normally leave it (the dead skin protects it and will eventually come off.

our youngest is going through a clingy stage and makes it a bit of a nightmare…best to let her entertain herself and make sure shes plenty toys to hold etc. if she cant move too much then she cant come to any harm, trust the advice on here…its much worse when they do start to ctawl!!

I was reading the local wrexam paper and speeding is a problem… a bloke in hawarden has hit his own gatepost "several times" when pulling out onto the road "because the cars travel quickly". there was a photo of him looking at the damage to his car…I had to laugh at the bloke as he didnt seem to think that him hitting his own gatepost had anything to do with his driving ability….or lack of…

Bought the one in 5labs link today, mostly as i was desparate I'd have preferred the gsb version (blue) but couldn't find one, Got it as the batterys are the same and the chuck mounts the same (i changed the chuck straight away). not a bad bit of kit but the supplied batteries are half the charge and its no where near as robust. If it blows up in the next few days I'll let you know. BTW the last one has lasted about three years of pretty heavy use and I had to change as the front bearings started to wobble and the hammer action locked….

does being an driving instructor trainer make you an expert in road safety? I kind of thought it made you an expert in instructor training….
