Your right, why buy a pod coffee machine when making it from beans is so much easier…

Sorry for dragging this up but I’ve just finished fixing mine and it was a bit of a bugger! About 10 wires had snapped leaving about 10mm lengths of cable in the multiplug. There was also damage inside the rubber boot!. Long story short, it took me about an hour with heat shrink and solder to rejoin it all and I’m reasonable with a soldering iron!. My advice would be to get a plug from a scrappy with plenty of cable and re do it all. There is very little room so you will need to heat shrink it all. Oh and yes my door now works as it should!

Its not a crime but what was your point thats all i’m asking?

I find it a bit strange that you post on a discussion forum then remove your opening post. It makes no sense, I (and a guess others) didn’t see what you put and therefore have no idea what your point is!. Its hardly a good starting point and to be honest looks like you just want to start an argument which it seems you have done.

Consumable? he’s having you over!. think of it this way, if it were consumable then the potential for wiring damage in the box is quite high (ignoring the fire risk) so at some point you would have to replace the wiring in that box! also to compare it to a light bulb is bizzare as its designed to be replace easily and relatively safely by the avereage person.

Not sure on this but I do have the same problem on my zafira. I was thinking of going to the scrappy and cutting the loom out and the rejoining it probably by soldering and heat shrinking. I would also suggest to add silicone before shrinking to improve water sealing.

I was browsing ebay today for some lab equipment and came across a usb microscope on there for £299, the exact same ones we use for general inspection which we buy for around £40! and they claim to have sold at least one!. I wouldnt mind but it even gives the manufacturer info to make it easier to search for!. Ebay can be cheap but you really do have to be careful and not assume that its the cheapest place!.

CG nah, what would be the point in that? merry christmas by the way ragardless if you are (or are not) for turning. Oh and i’ve yet to see any wise words yet just a lot of bog standard moaning which to be honest could have been cut and pasted from the forum at this time of year for at least the past 5 years!

Yay, christmas! i love it and am really looking forward to it with the kids!. This thread really needs TJ though to be a proper downer on the whole thing but do try your best to live up to his dislike of it all. Me? well i’ve two small kids for which the whole thing still holds the “magic” as it were so i’m no going to stop that under any circumstances, also we do all the visiting that day so dont have the hassle of visitors! AND i get a couple of hours for a ride pre dinner. Yep definitly love christmas….

I got a Kamei a few weeks back from the roofbox co, not used it yet but it seems pretty good to me, the sliding mounting brackets look to be pretty strong although i would say that the mont blanc locking system appears to be more robust.

I was sceptical, but her in doors used it while pregnant and it did work on stretch marks, quite impressed to be honest!

I use a lavazza modo mio pretty much everyday again because its easy to use and the coffee it makes is pretty decent, the pods are a bit pricey but i only have one a day with breakfast and its miles cheaper than if i bought a coffee on the way to work!.

You’ll soon learn that there is at least one person (not always the same person) but never the less at least one who will tell you are wrong (note the anti TG comments). Stick with it though, there are some top people on here who can brighten up the most boring of days!.

Depends on what hes doing, ragging out a rusted exhaust may be a bit iffy but assuming no real force is being applied sideways then it would (IMO) be OK, Being on ply is a good idea as it ensure the feet have a flat surface to sit on, I’m always much more worried about jacks as things can and do go badly wrong with them. Having said all of that I would always advise to spend as little time as possible underneath the car unless on a proper ramp.

I must say in my short average life i (until seeing it on here) had never heard football described as wendyball, ever, is it some kind of STW specific insult or is it the preserve of those kids that NEVER played it as a kid…?

My 6 year old does and we’ve been told will probably need to wear them for the rest of her life but the glasses available now are really good and pretty cool (for a six year old apparently). she has no issue with wearing them and as far as we know has not been teased so i wouldn’t worry too much. I wear glasses and to be honest being called “speccy” or whatever never bothered me and most kids thought it was a bit naff to do so.

Yeah, I’m not sure its technically a thermocouple but the metal prong must be heated, I’m sure it changes from dc to ac or something like that as I recall, not that it matters as it still needs replacing, please get a gas safe engineer to do though!

Big change going into year one insofar that its proper lessons etc, he probably tired and maybe struggling to come to terms with the work required (not his ability to do it). it probably feels like less fun, i speak with experience as my daughter has just gone into year one and i can definitely see the difference in her, still lovely to be with but much shorter fuse and less inclined to do as she is told!

Mines been OK but i changed to a smartphone at the same time so my usage differs now as its used less as a phone, 3g aint that good here in leafy cheshire but i normally get some kind of signal so can still get online etc.

I set up my own company about 16 months ago in a similar set of circumstances, a guy i worked with approached me with a deal on the table which was to say the least a little risky (and yes i’ve a mortgage and two small kids). it really boiled down to what the reward was potentially and i’m either really good at my stuff (more likely lucky!) or at the right place and time but i’m now earning 3 times what i was, low stress, flexible hours NORMAL hours and my life work balence is far better. Go with what you think as its your life and by the sounds of it you do have fall back positions. Personally i’d go for it but then im in a good position so would say that, look at the whole deal, not just the money as this may be more influential, if you are at work all the time your home life will suffer. I know a good few people with £100k+ income who are miserable because of the sarcrifices it takes and its important to remember that!.

To be honest I’ve mostly used Siemens s7 but its much the same and you should be able to get the PDFs for what you need online. Do you know the sensor manufacturer? If you call Omron, telemechanique etc they probably can give you advice, its unlikely that you’ll do any damage by putting in a “similar” part but it may not work (happened too many times to me!!). Oh and on some types they print the part numbers on the cable so its worth a look if possible.

If you are running it into a Mitsubishi plc then you should be able to find out what the signal requirement is for the io card and then work it back from there, then just buy the one that will physically fit.

That’s going to be really tricky as there are lots of different types, does it not have a tag on it to tell you voltage etc. Without that you’ll struggle. Who was the manufacturer? And do you have the part number?, also how many wires does it have and what colour, I assume you don’t have the wiring schematics?. As much info as possible would help. BTW you don’t need to use the original manufacturers parts unless they are really obscure.
