Karrimor.. had a condor rucksac and was ace and a hot earth, but dropped them years ago sad really , don’t rate rohan much these days either lot of branded footwear although the timberland shoes I have are still pretty good, berghaus stuff is a bit meh although I buy their fleeced from time to time.
I’m going to ride delamere tonight with dave and the guys, not been for weeks so will probably kill me but i’m looking forward to in a strange way… :-)
I dont what you want to pay but i bought some keela scuffers a few months ago and in comparison to the kiwis i have they appear to be in a different league, i say this because i’ve not had them long but so far so good. They dont have cargo pockets though so im not sure if they would suit. i used to be a big rohan fan but i dont rate the quality these days.
Depends what you want to do, I’ve got a burkle laminating press which is a vacuum press at temp but in the past I’ve used “Turkey” bags connected to a vac pump, that’s where you need a decent vacuum pump ( look on ebay) pressure wise you can do it with a couple of bricks and that will do it! If however you are using composites (laminating with pre-preg) then you’ll probably need to do it at elevated temp so it gets tricky. Or use an autoclave… What do you want to make?
As a student 25 years ago i worked for sainburys and trust me from that experience people will whine about any thing, from moving stock up or down one shelf ” so they can’t find it!” to trolley rage where we had to escort people out of the shop and christmas was essentially anarchy in the shop. these were in the days before sunday opening and shops could be closed for 4 yes count em 4 days!, it was like that scene in threads when the sirens go off!. what has really happened is that there are far more and faster ways to complain and tell people that you have complained, other than that i dont think much has changed! ;-)
I bought two of the halfords pro top boxes last year for work and for the price they are great, the roller draws are the key as you can load them up and they still slide in and out easily. would definitely recommend them.
All good, well was a bit bad last week when the laser in out printer packed up and the manufacturer said “oh your a week out of warrenty!”, now that may not sound like much but as the laser costs £40,000 and would essentially come out of my pocket i was panicked to say the least, fortunately we worked out that the sign off wasnt until the end of feb so we were in fact covered! Phew!, Oh and her indoors is harassing me to move to a bigger house… :-( but all things considered its great at the mo!
Silverline may well have a lifetime guarentee but i reckon the guy who came in with a 5lb sledge with the head snapped off the shaft was not looking for a replacement or the laser level that the optics fell out of or the comedy ratchet that disintegrated… Its woeful stuff (well to be fair the carpenters pencils work OK), The guy in my local shop tries not to laugh when he suggets thier products. IMO of course and it is cheap but to be honest do you want to be returning tools everytime you break them? (which with silverline will be often)
Scotland will return to the union…. ;-) KIDDING!!! (honest). Oil has been an important resource for a little over 100 years and before that the world still turned!. It will mean shifts in power (political) and the way we do things in general, I would imagine that in the 1850’s people could not imagine a world that didn’t revelove around steam and coal but things change sometimes for better sometimes for worse. I for one am not going to try and prdict what will happen as its a bit pointless, BUT i do think that think that world worship of oil and all that it leads to is a bad thing so not being so dependent on it may well be a good thing. (IMO of course)
I tawt i saw a putty cat…….I did I did! (tweety pie)
Beep! Beep! (road runner)
DOH! (Homer)
Run around…….NOW (Mike Reed) showing my age there a bit,
Money Money Money… (Mr Crabs off sponge bob)
I know you dont need these but i only just read the post and felt left out… :-)
Unless i’ve missed it: Mr Smiths…warrington, and mississipi (sp?) showboat in the same town, cinderellas/rockerfellas chester, Leadmill (sheff watching daisy chainsaw/ sheep on drugs). others in sheff that i cant remember 7th heaven doncaster i think, Hacienda, Mersey view (frodsham) and many other proper grotty dives up to and including Quaffers (god knows where is was as i was pissed up on the way on the bus..)
We just had a quote £ 450 for something the size of a plug in transformer, I haven’t seen any printers that sort of size but there’s no reason you couldn’t do it in sections, most of the cost appears to be in material type and resolution, tbh we are thinking of buying one due to cost!.
You never know what is round the corner, 2 years ago I was turning 40 and staring down the barrel of an ok job but a life which appeared to have peaked. A ballsy decision (for me) means that has all changed, I’m my own boss, have an income that means I can do the things I want to do and my stress is nowhere to be seen. I can see a real and exiting future that only a few years ago wasn’t even a dream, keep the faith you never know where you may find yourself!
I’d be interested in what you guys drive as a view to peoples impression of you ..me? a right proper boring old zafira… which makes me the bloke with kids who goes to the tip a lot… :-)
A maruader! Bloody hell my mate had one of those when I was at Sheffield! It was heavy even in them days! We used to ride out to the peaks and he’d be near to tears!
Rohan, horsey?, you sure, I’ve gone right off Rohan to be honest and I don’t rate the current quality, I bought some keela scuffers at the weekend and they seem to be good so they may well be my new choice. To answer your question is try musto….not used em for years but they did seem tough.
Can you not buy similar from a shop? Nah, thats pretty impressive scratch built! I guess he’s retired or it took a fair while! and im guessing that he has a nice little tooling set up?. well done to him I doubt that level of skill will be around much more!
