For some reason I like to be the last post on a thread so I seek out threads which have run their course, like this hopefully. :-)

Toys, you didn’t make it sound like opinion, you actually insulted the guy who build it by SAYING it was a waste of time, time which was his to use as he saw fit. I guess you think that all art is a waste of time as your average painting cant do much or that music is a waste of time or whatever. He has certainly not wasted his time IN MY OPINION, he has infact shown that we as a race are capable as a group or as an individual amazing things. Be it going into space or mowing in straight lines. Everyone makes thier choice and in my opinion he did an amazing job which should be recognised for what it is. Of course i may be wrong :-)

I can’t say I’ve noticed r4 being particularly religious although its target audience I guess is likely to be more religious than say r1, having said that I can’t stand gqt and is always turned off, I do like the archers so what do I know! :-)

The chippie in keswick near blacks, mainly because id spent a most miserable wet cold morning walking and was heading to buttermere for a nights camp. I was very hungry and i had two bags, was easily the best i’d ever had although my mental state could have been questioned!.

Well i am currently wearing some old craghoppers with grey paint on them, a plain white tee, an old berghaus fleece and and old pair of vans (not canvas) I dont know where that places me in the coolness stakes….. Oh and i have socks and pants on as well….

The bloke (its always a bloke) who sits half an inch off your bumper craning his neck too see if he can overtake ALL THE TIME… On my commute home especially it is essentially impossible to overtake unless you have blue flashing lights, 2 miles of traffic moving at around 30 mph which is good enough for me, yet there is very often a plank behind me looking for an overtaking opportunity!

As stated above I’d also advise aluminum for heat management, its generally what is used for direct PCB cooling and most ims materials (used for cooling LEDs) are aluminum, its cheaper than copper and generally stable.

Oh I forgot to say have halfords pro tools among others which for me perform just as well as my SO (won’t say it as I’m not a proper mechanic…. By all means get the set as you will probably use them on other things especially if you like to tinker with stuff, I just meant it wasn’t the best thing for pure bike work.

To be honest a big set like that is wasted on just bike stuff and you only need a few bits and bobs, get a decent set of Allen keys (I rate bondhaus) and things like a chain whip and tools to remove cassettes and bottom brackets, a good torque wrench is good but not essential. For bike maintenance I would say build up of tools that you actually need as some are job specific and you’ll need them no matter what or you’ll end up with a box of shiny unused (in the main) tools!

what about an OS map with his house at the centre? assuming he rides on the road he can plan routes to his hearts desire, got one for a friend recently and he was well chuffed!

Err no not really, i have stuff and have things im interested in but im not obsesive about anything, I’ve long gone past the finding the best bits and having loads of essentially the same thing (i only have one bike!). I’m not suprised by some of the posters on here admitting to being an bit obsesive though judging from the way they act on here ;-)

Yeah, those wire brush attachments for angle grinders are vicious WEAR glasses and gloves and don’t wear a thin tee shirt as the wire bristles go right though and hurt !

No idea, I passed first time so didn’t ask… This was before theory tests which I probably would have failed mainly due to poor understanding of how to overtake… :-) , any advice out there?

Yeah my youngest got in but as her big sis is there already it was not likely to be an issue. some parents were getting stressy though!.

I’ll keep an eye out but I doubt its stayed local… It’s not the first time I’ve heard of theft (or attempted) from the Abbey arms , not that its owt to do with the pub but its close to the forest and may be a ‘hunting’ ground.

Yep Sheffield… Was more upset when motorhead cancelled a gig at city hall cos lemmy was ill! No way!, good times and saw some ace bands, I was more of an indie kid myself so nirvana were not essential listening. Fahrenheit was a required evening out to pull although my hit rate was poor, I was generally more successful at the leadmill for some reason!!!! ;-)

At uni thinking oh, anyways lads let’s finish these fishfinger butties and head off to Fahrenheit at bar one its only 90p for mainline drinks…. (As you can tell I didn’t much care…) :-)

“And you could have a special area with mini seats for kids. Sound proof it and pump sedatives in. The airlines would fit even more people in this way. Or you could just put them in the hold.”….nice…gassing kids…

I like this idea, it will make taking my kids on holiday miles cheaper as the only weigh 15kg and 24kg! bring it on! flights full of small kids… paying less…especially on long haul yay! :-)

But thats the thing, if i went into a new shop and the fixtures and fitting looked shabby (yeah im that sad), i’d be concerned with the sort of people that i was dealing with. It is a reflection on your buisness especially when talking about a shop floor, dont go over the top but while you have the opportunity to get things right i’d say take it, you really dont want to be doing this when the shop is fully fitted out!
