    “Use your old headphones”

Something make me laugh and the above response is utter genius. But it also has to be said you can pick up a spare pair for £5 from most electronic retailers. Or you can just blame the government for all the snow.

    WARNING SMUG CONTENT:

Given my wife had a wish list on Amazon and we knew what we would get the little one and we were prewarned about possible pre Christmas snow, i did all my xmas shopping on payday in November. All stuff has arrived and 90% of it all wrapped.

My only issue is will I get to Bradworthy (near bude) on Xmas eve for the festive period. If not looks like its whatever is in the freezer as I will be dammed if am going to line up in the shops with all the mentalists who are buying up everything “Just in case”

I couldn’t see it due to cloud cover, I blame the government for that, as well as all the snow.

Having test rode both I purchased an Orange 5, the sizing was much better for me and it was alot less cramped to ride. I wish the heckler fitted me better but it just didn’t.

Thanfully the bike shop guy recognised the price differential and chucked in the full performance pack for free, free maxle and coloured rims, all to keep me interested but to be honest the five was the best fit not the fact it was British

Edit @ton I so wish they would, makes sense

Sorry to hear about your crash BUT you should have taken your broken stuff home with you rather than leave it there. Yet more ammo for the anti bike brigade, they love pulling the old ” they leave rubbish everywhere” argument. Pain or no pain, take it home with you

So are these fat bikes good all year round? A few have commented but lots of posts about the spec etc rather than how they ride.

Not moaning about the spec type chat as all information is useful but just looking for opinion about the ride all year round rather than when just snowy or sandy

I have been conned the last two years but said no this year as couldn’t be arsed. Last year purchased one of the boss types £10 of sprouts, a confused look if ever I saw one when the box was open. Previous year purchased a fist shaped dildo for a male member of the team who was up his own arse, this gift was not warmly received. But everyone else found it highly amusing

@thebikechain, indeed that is me. Just checking the geometry on my P7 and F100 before I make my mind up on size. Looks like my F100 is in-between a 20 and 22 but my F100 has the headset extension on and seat post is nearly fully out. Oh decisions decisions.

Will check my emails when back at work in the morrow

So close or ordering one instead of a 29er but looking for some guidance, can anyone help?

    1. I note they are good in most terrains but in mid winter do you need specific mud tyres?
    2. Parts are they easyish to come by?
    3. To get to the singletrack near my house I have some roads to cover, am I correct in assuming they are ok on the road to get to fun stuff
    4. Hard packed summer trails will the pugsley do the business in the woods.

I have watched the bid on this thread and am smiling at the thought of getting one, but would like to hear from personal experience in regards to questions above.

Thanks to all those whom reply

    Ps 20inch or 22 for an 18st 6ft 2 bloke. My P7 is 21 and fits like a glove

Elf- in the whole I do embrace this form and in part enjoy the banter, who wouldn’t. From a less frequent poster point of view: I tend to find many threads over ran by a minority spouting off amoungst themselves and more often than not completely off topic.

All in all though I would rather have acces to a forum like this than nothing at all, there are some good characters on here. I however have freedom of choice that’s why I ignore many topics when they descend into petty arguing.

In the whole scheme of things who actually gives a toss about the opinion of some geeks that are glued to an Internet forum 24 hours a day. I log on from time to time but see the same folks arguing on any old post. Guys get out more and see some of the real world.

I have seen innocent posts from less regular users ruined by regular users. Arguing amoungst yourself for self gratification and one upmanship only puts less regular users off. These folks may actually have something useful to bring to this forum.

I now expect the full wrath of said geeks I mention above. I look forward to your comments!! I now duck for cover

Count zero, sadly I didn’t get your point as I don’t have enough free hours to read a post that equates to a novel. They are shite-fact

19 stone here and riding a new orange five. I have the 20inch version and ride on natural trails in the wyre forest and surrounding area. No issues at all with the shocks, front or back. I run the rear at 285psi and the front @ 125psi( iirc). Even loaded up with kit the rear shock performs well, I have no issues with bottoming out and there is plenty of travel left once I am aboard.

If you local to Bewdley more than welcome to have a blast on it

Ton, I think you should treat yourself to a new bike once all this is done. See it as a get well present to yourself, I am sure it’s about time for a new bike for you and this is a good excuse.

Hopefully you will be out and about soon ( on new bike) looking back on this as a minor blip when all things considered.

I was seriously in shock at the price but also in how rubbish it was. The old marketing literature it brilliant, the real thing was lacking. Others may enjoy it so don’t let my biased opinion put you off.

Remortgage your house if you want to eat at the Eden project. I went not so long ago, one of the most expensive days I’ve had in a while, it’s just a big garden centre that over charges on entry and food. Take plenty of money with you as you will need it

“Does anyone care anymore? It´s not a league, it´s a 2-horse race played by non-Scottish mercenaries”

Is that any different from the English Premier league? I think not. In fact its for that reason I cannot be bothred to follow league football anymore.

I use a lumie the £99 one. I get up at 5 everyday and since I had the lumie I find my enthusiasm on waking is instant, I used to think I was going to die I felt so bad when woken by alarm clock noise. The gradual waking rocks, also White noise to get to sleep rocks.

In my opinion they work well

If your lumie was not bright enough buy a brighter bulb?

Meft you are wrong re married couples “A rare perk of married life! Transfers between spouses are not taxed, and you both get an annual CGT allowance.

This means you can transfer enough of your assets to your husband or wife for him or her to sell to use up their own allowance.

This effectively doubles the CGT allowance for married couples. You might get into a fight though if you’re both keen investors with your own gains to realise”

In regards to six months, its not greatly advertised but yes in general you have to be living there 6 months(or at least prove you have been there) for 6 months. I keep my bank details etc at my rental and have a mail re-direct going on. Makes life easier in future when proving it’s mine and mine only if the bank can say it’s been my address for last 17 years
