I know that the riding and general outdoor life up there will be good, I´m just looking for a feel of what living there will be like.

I´m coming from near Swindon so I would be prepared for a slight increase in rainfall and hill size, and a slight decrease in the number of people :)

Doesn’t that depend on how he wants to use it ? It’s a versatile frame.[/quote]

I agree, Pikes work very well on a PA but so do Revs. I found that my PA encouraged me to do the sort of riding that Pikes are aimed at. I upgraded to Pikes for mine after a while. its horses for courses though.

    Dialled PA –

Relatively cheap ,tough as old boots, rides great and almost universally loved by those who have ridden them. I think the number which have been broken can be counted on the fingers of one hand, which considering the riding that is done on them and the number out there is pretty impressive.

A Hone hub/rear mech might work as the rear mech hangs off the axle rather than a mech hanger. I’m not sure if the angle of the horzontal dropout will work with it though.

Thin slices of courgette, nicely covere in olive oil with a good mix of salt and pepper, on the bbq for a couple of minutes (or more depending on how thin you can cut them ;) ) tomatoes work well on the bbq too, cherry tomatoes should balance nicely on the grill bit. Those two with a nice thick bit of foccacia mmm :)

    Cheers TJ,

That could be a solution. However he’s just getting into mtbing and I think he’d be happier if there was a definite product he could use rather than me rooting through my spares finding something which ‘should’ work.

    A good back-up solution though :)

thanks very much everyone – I think I’ve managed to create some new fans of the genre, although the favourite was a queen/outkast one we found on youtube :)

Don’t let the feeling that you should be cycling get in the way of you getting back to feeling good about yourself. No hobby is that important.

If you do sell your bikes and then get back into cycling again, you can go through that ‘new bike joy’ all over again! :)

the clustering tendencies of bike parts did crop in an appendix of A Brief History of Time, although many of the abridged versions did not include this appendix.

I believe Stephen Hawking attributed it to the inverse relationship between the cost/hassle of replacing an item and the ability to find it when lost.

Another Specialized Hotwalk here – my son loves it and like others would use it everywhere if he could. My only concern about the Hotwalk is the lack of adjustability seatpost wise, there doesn’t seem to be much scope for raising it as he grows, which the Islabike seems to be better for.

I’d be up for a couple of tee’s as well, the dialled bikes logo would look pretty cool as a small logo in the centre of the chest I reckon.

I’ve just read your comment re. organic cotton etc, but I was going to suggest linking up with Howies, seeing as they’re set up to print custom tees now.

the general jist seems to be for folding, but solmanda’s point about rolling off the rim strikes a chord as i had a rather bad stack due to that recently on a folding tyre. Any other opinions?

cheers guys, I’ve not had an issue getting folding tyres on in the past, so I’ll go with the prevailing wisdom and go for the folders :)

convenience will make you use it more often, so therefore it is worth it :)

I would use mine more if it didn’t take 10 mins to make a cup.

Not got a pic but I used a couple of coaster type things that stop your sofa marking a wooden floor. wide stiff and plastic so they don’t mark the headset.

I put a washer in between the coasted and the nut to add a more even pressure to the coaster but this may be unnecessary

Dialled PA for me as well, and then more so when I upgraded to the Morning Glory.

Not wanting to sound like a total DB fanboy I also felt perfectly at home on my Love/Hate too.

I guess Mike@DialledBikes makes bikes that are just right for me :)

I’d agree with him, the fly mo action seems to create a bit of lift so the mower is easier to move around. you’re able to sweep it from side to side rather than just going forwards and backwards.

It does seem to be a bit kinder on bumpy lawns too, but I guess it depends how bumpy we’re talking :)

I agree with S&J, I’ve had mine for a few years and the EBB has never slipped or creaked, and its straightforward to adjust to tension the chain.
